I was going to be in Germany visiting family, and wanted to explore more of the region, and really wanted to go back to Heidelberg. This cruise offered it all. Not only did I see some new, beautiful areas, but enjoyed revisiting some. The included tours made it easy to have time to ourselves to explore on our own. The staff is welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. The captain was engaging ...

I’m not gonna lie, but the staff on the cruise was great. Did we miss a port because of of winds, yes. Did the casino kick my butt, yes. But you can’t blame the crew and the staff for that. We were first time cruises , getting our feet wet. But overall, my wife and I enjoyed it. The staff did their best to help those who came first. My best respect came from the bar staff, I was not a typical ...

Fine cruise on the Island Princess

We were excited about the itinerary, since it included Shetland and Orkney. Also, we got to see friends in Newcastle, and Wales. The ship was lovely, despite depressing prior reviews. Painting, carpeting upgrades, new balcony chairs and pool chairs were being added. There were serious lines at the restaurants. It was difficult to pre-book consistent dining without the app. The MaitreD did ...

We have done UK cruises before on Princess (and have also cruised Ireland on Princess and Holland America) and this time we tried to take in some new ports and took excursions to places we hadn't seen. I was especially interested in Portland, UK where we saw the "Rude Man" and beautiful Athelhampton House and Newcastle where we visited Hadrian's Wall and a Roman fort (really interesting). I was ...

As a student of viticulture, this cruise took me from one wine region to another with guided tours of wineries with several wine varietals. We even had a guest wine make on board who brought his own wines for us to taste. The beauty of our stops were magnificent. The highlight of the cruise was coming across an unplanned event, a Wine Festival in the beautiful town of Cochem Germany. We had ...

We decided to treat ourselves to a river cruise after years of watching advertisements on PBS. The Rhine Getaway provided a truly enchanting experience and provided an incredible snapshot of towns of western Germany. The changing scenery from the farmlands outside of Amsterdam to the post World War II regions around Cologne and finally the historic hill regions provided both recreational and ...

I wanted to do another UK cruise go to places like Shetland and Newcastle as I’m a fan of the TV shows and also Liverpool as I had not been there. I’m just about through with long haul flights so I tried to book on the Iceland/Greenland tour but at the time (Feb), I was told all the solo cabins had been sold. I waited about 5 weeks and cabins became available again and I was able to book that tour ...

An unforgettable experience

This was our first cruise experience and it has been a marvelous gift by our son. The chosen itinerary was very interesting, but quite long (3weeks) and we were a bit worried to get bored BUT we didn’t have to be so apprehensive because the days “have flown “fast thanks to the well planned tours and to the valid, involving entertainment activities, even if we have participated only to the evening ...

Second recent cruise on Disney cruise line after the pandemic. We are Diamond Plus members with RCCL (for perspective). Although RCCL ships are beautiful and entertainment is top notch the service and especially the Food has gone down the tube. Only the Specialty Dining is good. Disney however is the total package! Beautiful ships, amazing entertainment, spectacular service, great tasting food ...
