NOT a 5star line !!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

dswiss
10+ Cruises • Age 70s

This was our 56th cruise and we know what a five star line is. This is not. It is maybe a 3.5 or 4.0 at best. While the ship itself is in beautiful condition and creates an aura of old style class, it has not kept pace with technology. Our cabin had a 24”TV and no working phone. Internet was very slow and the App you are asked to download is next to useless. It does’nt even have a chat ...

The silent resignation is real

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

Robshappy1
6-10 Cruises • Age 50s

We chose this cruise as it was perfect timing for our holiday in Japan. Our second princess cruise and we were excited for the adventure. From embarkation to the awful dining experiences our excitement soon evaporated. Arriving at Yokohama ($170 taxi ride from Tokyo ) our bags were swiftly taken out of sight, our passports shown and our vaccination verification and we were rushed to a waiting ...

Relaxing, Joyful, Just Perfect!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

mizmanners15
10+ Cruises • Age 50s

We choose to do a back to back (this was the first leg of the trip) on the Queen Elizabeth having previously (pre-pandemic) traveled on the Queen Mary on a transatlantic. We were a bit hesitant given the wonderful time we had on the Queen Mary, trying to manage expectations etc., but we were totally and completely overjoyed with the Queen Elizabeth. Cabin: Penthouse Queens Grill....spacious ...

Very Disappointing, not value for

Review for a Asia Cruise on Silver Whisper

LOW1212
2-5 Cruises • Age 40s

Not value for a 5/6 stars cruise. First, the cabin is outdated and lack of maintainence. The shower room is very small and full of watermark at the edge. Very unpleasant. The bathtub is good size but yellowish. No one want to soak in such an old bathtub. The carpet is not flat. Absolutely needs replacement. You can see broken stage in the Show Lounge, I only came there for safety brief. I ...

One and Done with Cunard

Review for a Asia Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

rclooking
10+ Cruises • Age 60s

After over 50 cruises, I thought it would make sense to sail Cunard. BIG mistake. The Queen Elizabeth was coming out of a dry dock just prior to our cruise, so I expected to step aboard an almost new, spiffy ship. That didn't happen. There were broken items in the Lido, in the Casino, in the Laundry rooms and in the public bathrooms. And everything that was broken on Day 1 stayed broken to the end ...

Excellent itinerary 16 days Singapore to Tokyo. PRO'S - Staff good, cabin stewards great - food excellent in Princess Grills and Lido - theater shows very good - Talks overall good, Sally Gunnell was totally in command and interesting. Ship looked good after her paint job. CON'S - Never spoke with an officer, they never made eye contact and normal walked very quickly in two's. the Captain ...

Relaxing way to see Japan

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

SHIP RIDER
10+ Cruises • Age 60s

The ship was nice and the captain actually made time each day to walk around and speak to the passengers. I also liked the way the captain kept the ship informed each day with daily updates from the bridge on weather and port calls. The ship does cater to travelers from Japan. The food on the buffet was around 40% Japanese food and about the same in the main dining room. I would say the food ...

Met our expectations

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

Antony5912
2-5 Cruises • Age 50s

All good all round. The food was a bit bland - we think because of the older demographics of the other passengers. But overall we enjoyed it. Bar staff were great and funny. Mask policy was controversial and some guests were a bit angry. Took a day trip tour with City Unscripted - our guide was called Gabriel (Jewel) I think...he was excellent. The burgers were good and we were glad we went ...

What a disappointment!

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

10+ Cruises • Age 70s

We wanted to see the cherry blossoms in Japan and booked with HAL because they were sailing this spring at the right time. We sailed with them in 2016 to Alaska and it was fine. This sailing was just awful. I read the cruise critic review several months ago when we first booked and it seemed very good but their review is way out of date. I checked recent reviews just before sailing and they ...

Japanese Adventure

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

simongibbs6
10+ Cruises • Age 50s

Embarked at Yokohama (airport bus from Haneda was easy). Approx an hour from arrival to embarkation on ship. Would recommend completing VeriFLY app. There was a separate line for those who had. We were in cabin (VE). Quiet and comfortable. The ship itself is traditional in feel, a little past its best, but spotlessly clean. Japanese rules meant wearing of masks, which was generally adhered to. ...
