What a Great Crew

Review for Grand Princess to Mexican Riviera

User Avatar

This was my first cruise since the pandemic began and I was eager to get on a ship. Selecting a cruise that departed out of Los Angeles (home), and rather brief, seemed a no-brainer. In my opinion, Princess went to great lengths to insure the health and safety of guests and crew alike. Requirements included proof of vaccination, a Covid test within 48 hours of sailing, and wearing a face mask in ...

Wonder or Blunder NEW 2021 Guide

Review for Disney Wonder to Mexican Riviera

Disney is top notch. Our port was San Diego, all of Disney should be the same process. We arrived at the scheduled port time with no problem. We had to take a Covid test on-site. Our party was allowed to go in together in a semi-private portable curtained area. The test was self-administered with someone telling us what we needed to do. We were allowed on board in about 30 minutes after the test. ...

Review for Allure of the Seas to Caribbean - Western

I had a cruise scheduled for November and decided I couldn't wait until then to cruise and booked this one since it would fall on my birthday. It was originally supposed to stop at Labadee and Jamaica, but instead it was changed to Costa Maya, Cozumel and Coco Cay. After a long time of not cruising, it didn't matter. I just wanted to be on a ship on the ocean. I travel solo and decided to ...

Norwegian Cruise Line Isn’t Ready For Cruises

Review for Norwegian Gem to Caribbean - Western

I debated writing this review for sometime for so many reasons. The one thing that can summarize this review is that Norwegian Cruise Line Isn’t ready. They aren’t ready to sail after COVID 19. I just got back yesterday from a 7 night cruise to ports in Belize, Cozumel, Honduras and Costa Maya on the Norwegian Gem. This cruise was by far my worst experience with any cruise line. I love cruising ...

Safe cruising in the pandemic

Review for Grand Princess to Mexican Riviera

THANK YOU Princess for enforcing vaccinations, distancing and wearing masks! While others complained in their reviews about "medical terrorism", I hope they will never have to go through COVID-19 illness and find out the reason why we prevent in the first place (we have, and we don't want it again). Basically everyone was compliant (crew 99%, passengers 95%), and not grudgingly - of course you ...

Focusing on Covid precautions, Diamond/Platinum check in, and a little other stuff

Review for Carnival Breeze to Caribbean - Western

This was a test cruise for Covid-19 cruising. Masks were definitely worn by everyone, they really check your physical vaccine card, and the Covid test verification for your name to match your passport, vaccine card, and test. We knew they weren’t going to have priority boarding, but they easily could have, at least for Diamond level, there were only 23 of us and some were already on board. ...

MSC Divina Good & Not So Good

Review for MSC Divina to Caribbean - Western

User Avatar

This was our 3 rd cruise on the Divina, first since covid and the 2nd sailing for the ship. The good: Crew bent over backwards to help in any way. Even for special requests from the buffet. Covid sanitation was outstanding. Their private island Ocean Cay was very beautiful well staffed and had ideal beaches. Food at both the restaurants and the buffet was very good for the most ...

Food not worth the trip

Review for MSC Divina to Caribbean - Western

Food on the ship was horrible, breakfast at the buffet was always cold and the burger at lunch was cold and had a wet bun. Now the good great ship and the staff was always nice and helpful my cabin was clean and well taken care of. The ship did go dead in the water between Ocean Cay and Mexico with the captain saying there would be a short delay it took about an hour to get the ship moving again. ...

Great Value

Review for MSC Divina to Caribbean - Western

We usually do 3 cruises a year, but covid stopped that. Having cruise withdrawal we decided to try MSC. We were surprised with the status match program, accepting Elite status from Princess. The Divina was only about 25% full. The crew could not do enough to help. The announcements were only in English and smoking was restricted to only a few areas with fines for smoking in rooms and on balconies. ...

Great cruise, glad to be back.

Review for Norwegian Gem to Caribbean - Western

User Avatar

Norwegian did a great job with the pre-cruise COVID testing. Glad they stuck it out and insisted 100% of crew and passengers be vaccinated, would not have sailed any other cruise line at this time. THANK YOU NORWEGIAN. The cruise was great. I was amazed at the condition of the ship. She looked like she just left the shipyard. Beautifully maintained, not a scratch on her. You can immediately ...
