Amazing Scenery, Wonderful Staff, but a few opps!
"Some disappointments: no working hot tubs, small cabins, so-so food, the free tours of Icelandic ports had nothing much to see (I advise arriving a few days early and do some local tours) ,most of all for me, Hurtigruten advertised activities and sight-seeing in Longyearbyen (including a walrus safari) and there were NONE, just a bus from the ship to the airport.was a repositioning voyage so we had more staff than guests...."Read More

Specifically chose this cruise because it included Patagonia given its size and difficulty to get to. Hard to fault Hurtigruten with seamless arrangements great expedition and on board staff. Started in Santiago with a flight to Punta Arenas then a 6pm departure across Drakes Passage. Smooth going across but made up for it on the way back.

If you plan to go to Svalbard to see walruses, polar bears, do not go with this company which has signed an IATO agreement which forces them to observe these animals at least 500m away so a polar bear will only be visible with good binoculars and even.
