Disappointing/inexperienced expedition staff

Review for a South America Cruise on Ventus Australis

I found the round trip disappointing. The first 4 days (Punta Arenas to Ushuaia) are beautiful because of the route. The second part (Ushuaia-Punta Arenas), two days at anker in a bay and almost a full night cruising the channel in front of Ushuaia. The crew of the ship is really good, especially the ones that take care of the rooms and the bar. The restaurant staff is over the top in ...

We were on a tour and this cruise was part of it. Loved everything about it, especially the crew. The waitstaff (including Matias the amazing singer) , the expedition team and the zodiac drivers all were outstanding. Scenery - magnificent. Food- excellent. Presentations- terrific. Lovely to come on board after a blizzard and be welcomed with hot chocolate laced with whisky. Disembarking on Cape ...

A four stars + hotel sailing through the Chilean fiords

Review for a South America Cruise on Stella Australis

My main interest was to visit the beautiful fiords in the South of Chile from a cruise that would also allow for some land visits in order to get in touch with the local nature - glaciers, specific flora and fauna. All these goals were fulfilled to perfection. Furthermore, the ship was most comfortable, large, clean and beautifully decorated; cabins were excellent, similar to rooms in a four stars ...

i travel in the ventus australis the last febrery with my girlfriend. everithing in ventus australis was perfect. the staff was amazing, and the destination was a dream. the only consideration i must to do, is the food. breakfast was perfect. but the lunch and the dinner was to small. im a big guy, so, the gourmet food was too tinny. I would have preferred the felf-service modality, ...

This has been our third trip with Australis; one on Stella and two on Ventus. The experience was fantastic. Tierra del Fuego is indeed Fin del Mundo. Australis made it possible to access enchanting natural places. It has offered frequent safe dismemberments which were accompanied by knowledgeable guides. Years after these trips we are still dreaming about the places we had visited. In fact, ...

Visit parts of Patagonia you could not otherwise get to

Wanted to visits the Fjords of Tierra del Fuego. This cruise was the only way to access many of the more remote parts of Tierra del Fuego. We were also recommended the cruise by friends who had done it on honeymoon 20 years earlier. Highlights included the Darwin channel and Glacier Alley, Wulaia Bay and the zodiac trips to various locations. The catering and educational aspects of the trip ...

This was one of the best travels that I have made with my family. The crew was very nice, and they made a great job to create a wonderful trip. The cabin was perfect; the food was also perfect. And the best part were the trekking and outdoors excursions. They were unique, in the sense that you feel that you are in the last southern point of the earth, and you are living a unique ...

The Stella Australis Patagonia cruise took us on an extraordinary expedition where we found some of the greatest landscapes on the planet. As we wanted to do something different, the end of the world was perfect for that. Australis is the only cruise line that goes to Cabo de Hornos and we were not disappointed. The food, the attention, the cabins, the excursion, the spots were all outstanding. I ...

We were the last sailing of the Stella Australis for 2020 from Ushuaia to Punta Arenas. We were lucky to have great weather. The ship's capacity is 200 passengers with 65 or so crew but we were fortunate to have less than 100 passengers. Embarkation was smooth, including a temperature check to be sure no one was sick, and we really liked our cabin on the 4th deck (it was worth paying a little ...
