NOT a Cruise; A Floating Hotel on the Venice Lagoon

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Michelangelo

When I booked this "cruise", I knew there would not be much cruising involved. However, if I'd known the boat would be completely stationery except for 8 hours during our whole stay, I would not have booked! When did the Michelangelo move? Once, for a short hop between our initial mooring at San Basilio and our main mooring at the Giardini Bienniale; once for a two hour meander around the ...

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

This was a first cruise and a trial cruise for us and if three days on board MSC Sinfonia is any indication what cruising is really about, we'll never do it again! We can heartily recommend the suite cabins with balconies which are quite spacious and comfortable. If you're a light sleeper, be careful of your cabin choice. We were in cabin 1040 which was underneath the entertainment deck and at ...

Terrible shame on you Cunard

We were also on this I'll fated cruise. Embarkation was OK. Our balcony cabin looked lovely until we saw the toilet. Hence we had to clean it ourselves to remove the remnants under the seat from the last passengers, not a great start for a 5* ship. We found the maƮtre'd rude as it didn't fit into his plans when we asked for a table for 2 for lunchtime in the Brittania restaurant after receiving ...

We went on a mini cruise to Bruges Christmas market. Did not like it at all, All the prices on the ship was in USA dollars, which was confusing, The entertainment was not good, pianist (Vic Cooper), harpist (Rhianwen Pugh) & Eos string quartet, Ballroom and Latin Dance music,.very boring, there was a disco in the Yacht Club, but it was too small, you could not get a seat. No tea & coffee making ...

I am sure by now you will have heard all about the 4 nights and 5 days of going around in circles, the strong smell of fuel, the very bad service in the Britannia restaurant the food cold having to wait up to three quarters of an hour in between courses, because people were sending food back, even in the shops because they had to mention that on top of the high prices we also had to pay VAT because ...

First NCL experience- probably our last

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We've sailed on several other cruise lines and decided to try NCL on their cruise to nowhere out of Tampa. The ship itself was beautiful and clean. We opened our cabin to find old soda bottles that had been refilled with water still in our cabin. We never met/saw a steward... not a big deal because we're not high maintenance, but a notable difference from the other cruise lines. The food on the ...

Just returned from a "Cruise to Nowhere" on the Jewel. I went with my sister and my twenty something daughter. I have traveled on two other cruise lines. Since I have taken nine cruises I think I have enough previous experience to judge the quality of a cruise. This was my first time on NCL. We wanted to just try it before booking a cruise to somewhere. There are both positive and negative things ...

A short review of our cruise. We take this year a cruise with MSC Opera on 11 July for 9 days and pay the full price. First of all many storm and bad weather, ok that?s the risk if you take a cruise on the Atlantic. But the cruise self on the MSC Opera was a very bad experience. The food was very bad, first day we get coffee in china ware but from the second day only in Tupperware ...

Mixed feelings about NCL & the Star

We took the one night cruise out of LA this past Friday on the NCL Star. It was a good opportunity to check out the ship. We have the Star booked for the May reposition cruise to Alaska. Realizing that it was a booze cruise type of trip our expectations were not that high. So our disappointment with this cruise was not a total shocker. Embarkation was a nightmare starting with ...

Review for a Cruise to Nowhere Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

This was a "repositioning" cruise - Started in Vancouver, B.C., with stops in Astoria, Oregon, San Francisco, and ending in Los Angeles. My husband & I were looking forward to the "freestyle" cruising - we're not into getting dressed up for dinner while we're on vacation. We've previously cruised on Holland America & Royal Caribbean. So "freestyle" means that you don't have to dress up for ...
