This cruise was a disappointment. Two ports were cancelled (one third of the total) because of weather and no alternate ports were substituted thiugh it seems like they could have easily been added without a deviation from the revised route. The onboard activities were uninteresting, consisting of things like zumba classes, line dancing, and penny whistle classes. There was only one enrichment ...
We will have to laugh about this cruise, but want to let others know that a repositioning cruise might not be for everyone. It was unfortunate that we didn't have a better idea about what to expect, and what we want is to let others know, and perhaps avoid disappointment for them. We left from Southampton on Sept. 22, and sailed to Brugge/Belgium, where we had a great shore excursion. Then on to ...
There are Stains on many of the chairs in the Lido dining room.
It was Hard to get a seat during lunch or dinner in the Lido as many people were playing cards and other games. The supervisors did not care. On one evening the supervisor talked to a couple that were playing cards for over 30 minutes. After he moved on they kept playing even though others could not get a seat for their meal. ...
We chose this cruise because my sister in law and brother in law were booked. Our brother in law is having some serious health issues and we thought it would be a nice way to spend time with them and to help out with his mobility issues. Embarkation went smoothly. But, disembarkation at some of the ports and the final disembarkation were a nightmare. At one port (I believe Belgium), since it was a ...
This was our 6th. cruise with Princess, and it will be our last. The ship is in need of repairs. The varnish on the balcony railings was peeling off. The sliding glass door in our room would only open part way in the morning, but once it got warm it would open all the way. Hot water in the shower was hit or miss. The toilet malfunctioned twice. The couch in the room looked like one you would ...
I took it because it stopped at 3 ports in Iceland--that part was great. However, I booked an OCEAN VIEW CABIN. It did NOT have a view of the ocean. Although I complained, the problem was not resolved to my satisfaction. The activities aboard were very few. Hundreds of people jammed into a room to play Trivia because there was nothing else to do, and they had to get another room, so then both ...
We were very disappointed in this ship. It is the 6th Princess ship we have been on, and it looked ragged in many respects. We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-week cruise on the Majestic, and, so far, that's our favorite ship so the others pale in comparison.
The technology is dated, along with the decor. We didn't realize we were spoiled on the Royal, Regal and Majestic that had movies-on-demand ...
Itinerary was great--places we'd always wanted to go--but the cruise was very disappointing. Ship was very worn and overdue for a rehab. AND, it seemed understaffed. The crew was working extremely hard but service wasn't what we have had in the past from Princess. The dining staff was practically running to service all the tables. Our cabin steward was extremely good. Front desk staff, ...
We chose this cruise for the ports of call. They included Bruges(which we had visited before , along with Copenhagen,Oslo, and Helsingborg (which we had never seen). We had taken Princess before and knew service was hit and miss so we did not have high hopes , but service was worse then expected. Embarkation was long and disorganized with nary a Princess staff member in site(a common theme on this ...
We wanted to visit the countries nearer the artic circle, especially Iceland.
We have done about 6 Princess Cruises over past 15 years, and without doubt we have found that since Princess Cruises sold out to Carnival, the standards have dropped dramatically, while the dollar gouging has increased with hidden charges and overpriced ship items.
The compulsory tipping levy to me has always been ...
