Old Ship and Noro, too

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Crown Princess

Took this cruise to see what was left of the Fall Colors along the Eastern seaboard plus the Canadian ports which were new to us. Enjoyed Quebec City even in the rain and wind. Ship was docked right at Old Town. Other ports were fine. We missed St. Johns, Newfoundland because of very bad weather. That's just one of the chances one takes while cruising. Enjoyed Boston and NY, NY. The ...

Most of the ports were amazing, one was ridiculous as a port. Nothing to do.

Have always wanted to see Quebec and New England States. Next time I will choose a smaller vessel, and earlier time of the year to travel. The ship needed a lot of updating, especially the bathroom in the rooms. Much too old, too worn and too small. The dining in the restaurants were outstanding, the buffet was just okay and your choices were limited as far as main dishes and desserts (except ...

Crown Princess, not so royal

We are avid cruisers and have cruised on Princess before, enjoying our trips, not so much this time around. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, no complaints there. Our balcony cabin was mid-ship on deck 10, a favorite of ours. There was plenty of storage space for both all of our clothes and toiletries. The cabin, especially the bathroom could stand updating. We couldn’t ...

Customer Service Wanting

I took it because it stopped at 3 ports in Iceland--that part was great. However, I booked an OCEAN VIEW CABIN. It did NOT have a view of the ocean. Although I complained, the problem was not resolved to my satisfaction. The activities aboard were very few. Hundreds of people jammed into a room to play Trivia because there was nothing else to do, and they had to get another room, so then both ...

Not the best from Princess

We were very disappointed in this ship. It is the 6th Princess ship we have been on, and it looked ragged in many respects. We thoroughly enjoyed our 7-week cruise on the Majestic, and, so far, that's our favorite ship so the others pale in comparison. The technology is dated, along with the decor. We didn't realize we were spoiled on the Royal, Regal and Majestic that had movies-on-demand ...

Not like Princess used to be

Itinerary was great--places we'd always wanted to go--but the cruise was very disappointing. Ship was very worn and overdue for a rehab. AND, it seemed understaffed. The crew was working extremely hard but service wasn't what we have had in the past from Princess. The dining staff was practically running to service all the tables. Our cabin steward was extremely good. Front desk staff, ...

GREAT IDEA, POOR SERVICE, AND EXECUTION

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Crown Princess

We chose this cruise for the ports of call. They included Bruges(which we had visited before , along with Copenhagen,Oslo, and Helsingborg (which we had never seen). We had taken Princess before and knew service was hit and miss so we did not have high hopes , but service was worse then expected. Embarkation was long and disorganized with nary a Princess staff member in site(a common theme on this ...

A tired old ship, poorly excuted

We are Princess Platinum, (big deal I know). We also have sailed HAL and celebrity. We are in our mid 50's but retired so we tend to be among the youngest on board. As a result, we never have to wait for treadmills, but do note they don't open until after 8 AM. We wanted to check out sailing from Southampton, you know, the same day logistics from the overnight flight and Heathrow to the Pier, ...

High hopes for a great celebration vs reality of a big disappointment

We heard wonderful things about Princess Cruises. We were seeking a birthday celebration close to home and decided on Crown Princess before it dry docked. Big mistake. Embarkation was postponed. Room was slightly larger but mattress felt like sleep on a sleeping bag, hard and lumpy. Air conditioning on emerald deck was lacking as was refrigeration temp on our empty refrigerator. Dining was by far ...
