Big management problem with dining access.
"We showed up on time and seemed to be seated close to our reserved time, however on three different nights had trouble getting our private table, the first night , with big lines, we were told they only had shared tables ( a lie) when I said we would wait, " A Miracle " we were taken to a private table, a few nights later the maitre d looked at us smiled and said " private table" then walked us to a table for 6 where we were put on the spot and unable to refuse, on the last night we were being walked to a shared table so I said "no, a table for two, we'll wait", another miracle, we were promptly shown to a private table, there is no excuse for deceit. Many guests with or without dining reservations waited hours or were never seated, they have a huge issue that seems to be caused by designating one of the three main dining rooms for " special guests" , causing there other guests to suffer, this would be fine if the ship had been engineered with the dining space available to make that work...."Read More

The Good (lots of it) and sadly the Bad

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Crown Princess

Embarkation: VERY GOOD. We were on the ship within 25 minutes of dropping off our bags. Note for when sailing out of San Francisco, the port is off The Embarcadero and there was heavy traffic getting to the pier. We made the mistake of dropping off our luggage on the street a block south of the pier because of the traffic. If we had waited 5-10 more minutes, we could have dropped it off ...

Elevated dining experience on crowded ship

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

DINING: This was our second Princess Cruise and the experience that impressed us the most was the elevated cuisine in the main dining room (Botticelli). Having previously sailed on Celebrity (Millenium), Holland America (Zuiderdam), Cunard (Queen Elizabeth), and Princess (Ruby), I would have rated Princess at the bottom of the list for dining. After this cruise on the Crown Princess, I would now ...

First off I’ve been on 18 past cruises several lines .. No beginner here! Went aboard open minded , street fights while in line to board. 6 hour delay in ship taking pasangers. Ok this is life. Conditions change in ports. Ok .. but. Finally boarding elderly/ handicapped folks got no expedited assistance from port folks. Zip nada wait in line sucker. Nothing ! Felt like a rock concert. Was ...

Crown Princess Cruise, October 22, 2023 We had transfers from SFO to the ship. On the way to the ship, all went well until we arrived at the pier. There was a long line to get into the building and it seemed to be held up for no apparent reason. When we finally were allowed to proceed, we went to the check in area and looked for the priority line for Elite passengers. We could not find one ...

We chose this cruise because we were planning to fly to Hawaii and stay in Lahaina at a hotel or an Airbnb.Instead we found this cruise at a very reasonable price and decided to do two things, going back to Hawaii again, and doing it at a cost less than previously planned.Pluse we really enjoy the cruise expierence. We had several problems from start to finish, however i will say that the ship was ...

Entertainment was hit and miss. More misses. The Hawaiian couple were very talented. Not only performing each day but even teaching ukulele and hula to passengers with a presentation at the end. The ship singers and dancers performed 2 shows over a 15 day cruise, really? The other nights were comedians, magicians, and game shows. The destination and subject matter speakers were good, even if ...

This was our 23rd cruise with princess. First time on the Crown. This is also the first time we were disappointed in a cruise. Embarkation was smooth and efficient. My wife had wheelchair assist from the terminal door to our cabin door. We even got scanned for location of muster station on way to cabin, saving a trip later. Our balcony Baja deck cabin was all the way aft on the Starboard side. ...

This is my first attempt at writing a review so I hope it helps future cruisers. This was our fist Princess cruise and probably last, for us, the dining experience is 30% of the cruise, and honesty very important. Embarkation : We got lucky and rolled right through with a little unsolicited help from one of the ladies working the lines, but it looked like a free for all, caused mostly by ...

Disappointment

Our trip was designed to be a pre-holiday get away. The sailing was OK but not special. I probably won't sail on this itinerary again even as short get away. Several public restrooms were out of order. The entertainment was stale. It seemed to be stuck in the 70's. Housekeeping staff was outstanding. Overall all the staff was friendly and helpful. As for the dinning, I didn't experience a single ...

Itinerary (1-stop at Los Cabos), duration 5 nights, bargain pricing on mini suites (larger staterooms with modest sized balcony that most everyone above & beside you can see clearly) Ship thought about 10 years old appeared to be well maintained and clean. Cabin, meal service & bar staff were most friendly, cordial, professional & accommodating. Food served & selections available in all ...
