We have been exclusive to Princess the past few years in our cruising. I feel compelled to share my experience. Things happen but this was too much...
The ship and the itinerary: We are not fans of days at sea, we chose this cruise because there would be only 3 days at sea. The generator issue is a bigger problem than they admit to. Princess cancelled the day at their private island which ...
We choose this trip because it was going to our favorite stops with Curacao and Grenada being the top of our list. Several weeks prior to our trip we were notified that Grenada had been deleted from our travels due to engine mechanical problems. When we tried to call Princess (twice) to inquire why Grenada was deleted we gave up waiting to talk to someone after waiting for over an hour the first ...
The Southern Caribbean itinerary was very attractive, but we should have done more research on the ship, which was launched in 2006 and badly needs a complete overhaul and refurbishing. The engines are seriously in need of repair, as other reviewers have noted. The engines' poor performance slowed the ship so that one scheduled stop was cancelled, and we have been late in arriving at others, ...
We've cruised 12 times and so we know what to expect on a cruise and we've been pleased in the past. We have never given a negative cruise review before this cruise. Our cruise on the Crown Princess to the Southern Caribbean was very disappointing.
The trouble began as we pulled away from the port in Ft. Lauderdale and the Captain announced that one of the diesel generators was not working. ...
We have done well over a 100 cruises over the past 50 years, 62 of which have been Princess. As we are in Florida Nov/Dec we like to tag a cruise or two onto the end of our stay, returning home mid January. Having done a 20 day back to back on Crown for the past 2 years, and the dates fitting our plans this time, we booked this cruise again. An added bonus was reduced flights which fit in with our ...
Crown Princess is a beautiful ship, but not beautifully designed, it is all very bland in colors and finishes. One area looks like every other area. Nothing unique or memorable.
Cold, cold, cold ship.... cold in your state room, cold in the restaurant, cold in the common areas of the ship. Even with the 2 room thermostat’s set on high heat, the room remained extremely cold. It is a miserable ...
The Crown Princess needs to be in dry dock for updating and renovations, along with their entertainment staff of singers and dancers. The whole ship, from outside rust to deteriorating furniture to elevators that had peeling paint on doors to non working balcony doors in staterooms - You name it, it needs repaired or replaced. The worse part was the lack of effort to correct problems. Our ...
used Princess Crown for British Isles cruise in August 2019 and found it very enjoyable. In our December 2019 cruise to the Virgin Islands aboard same ship we found maintenance issues on several days in two different assigned rooms. Leaking ceilings on two occasions, our clothing was soiled from leaking directly into our closet; repairs by on board plumbers failed twice. TV needed repair, ...
This was our 6th Princess Cruise and 22nd overall. We opted for a Thanksgiving getaway cruise to the Caribbean out of Ft Lauderdale and this cruise fit our schedule.
We opted for a full suite which was located at the stern (back) of the ship on the Starboard side (D-737).
It was apparent on arrival that the Crown has not been refurbished in a very long time. The stateroom did not have ...
This ship was nice, but it was more for an over 50 demographic. My child (14) tried on several attempts to attend the teen club, but he was always the only one that showed up. We didn't notice very many kids on the ship at all. The trivia and other entertainment was again more for an older audience and I am in my mid 40's and felt too young. The shore excursion desk was very rude when we tried ...
