Good and Bad

We chose this cruise because it suited the dates we wanted to be away. The Good: The ship and cabin were nice and clean. The Staff in general work so hard!! They have so much energy!! We really appreciate their enthusiasm! We enjoyed the shows and had great time at the Mirabilis bar. New Year's Eve was a blast! The Bad: Food was very plain, every day at the lunch buffet, they offered the ...

I am Italian and I really enjoyed this cruise over Christmas.. Traditional Christmas activities happened including a wonderful tenor and selection of the Christmas Princess pagent and the Miss Costa Deliziosa pagent as well... this ship is not like the usual mainstream cruise lines... the entertainment was for everyone no matter which language you speak.. the food was quality over quantity, the ...

We booked this trip last minute to sail over Christmas. We had sailed on Costa a few years ago in the Mediterranean, and thought it was average at best. Thought we'd give it another try to see if anything would be different sailing from the US. The short answer is NOPE. The ship itself is fine, we don't put much stock in decor and room size and such. It is the food, the staff, and the ...

We realised it was not a 5 star cruise but value for money. Heading shows 10 day Caribbean but this was a back to back cruise ending up in Venice. They had a gratuities charge of US$12.50 per day and with 3 passengers in our group for 34 days worked out to be US$1,275 or AUS$1,653. I do not know of many people who will part with Aus$1,653 as a tip. We always tip the waiter, waiters assistant ...

Worst Cruise Ever

My husband & I choose this cruise for it's value. We had never been on a Costa ship. This was our 9th or 10th cruise and we had never had a bad experience. The ship itself is beautiful and the entertainment was awesome but that's about it. The food was not hot even in the dining room. Our waiter seemed overworked. He barely had time to talk to us. Staff didn't really speak to us except for our ...

chose the cruise because of its itinerary and the stops were great. The ship was very nice and it was easy to get on and off the ship. The service was good and our room was great. The quality of the food and the drink pkg left a lot to be desired. An example would be the beer was served in a Carlsberg glass but was in fact Milwaukee's Best! someone is cutting corners. They ran out of the good ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Costa Favolosa

My partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a romantic vacation with all the bells and whistles. Cost was not a significant factor in our decision but rather level of service. Our vacation started at an adults only resort in Punta Cana DR (Chic by Royalton - Diamond Club) which was an awesome experience. We chose Costa Favolosa for the second part of our vacation as it departed from DR ...

To celebrate my 40-year-old birthday and my husband’s 50-year-old birthday, we decided to book a suite for our son and us. We have tried a cruise with Royal Caribbean before, so we hoped that the experience would be at least just as pleasant and where looking forward to some luxury with a butler and other nice stuff being pampered a little when we finally have the yearly vacation together. Our ...

Costa Mediterranea, what a delusion!

It was our first time with Costa. We are italian, but we always cruised with American cruise lines. This time Costa had a good itinerary and the price was Ok, so we decided to try. What a mistake! The main delusional points are: food, service and entertainment. The food was average, both in buffet and at the restaurant (but mainly at the restaurant, one night they presented us a chicken plate ...

We just returned from a seven-day cruise on the Costa Serena followed by another twelve-day one on another cruise line. Our overall experience was not so bad considering that we did not have any great expectations and we kept our minds open to different cultures. We chose the Serena mainly because of its itinerary and we wanted to try a more European ambiance. The ship is quite nice and we ...
