Having comparisons with only USA serving cruise lines, I won't rehash the astute review of "robinsandiego" dated March of 2015. different Costa ship but all ditto on the info. Cabin stewards and waiters -- Indian, or Filipino or Indonesian -- all fantastic, BUT they are totally overworked. Too few wait staff, MUCH less than Carnival, cabin stewards serve way too many rooms.

We chose this cruise for its itinerary and great price. The ports were terrific except that the time was way too short in both Dubrovnik and Kotor, less than half a day if you include transportation to and from the old towns. The small old towns were very crowded as thousands from various cruise ships descended upon them at the same time. The crowded and hurried experience was disappointing. ...

We heard many negatives about Costa but went against them and chose this cruise line because of the Mediterranea's Adriatic port intensive itinerary, round trip Venice, and the reasonable price . . . and so glad we did. First and last time with this company.
The entire crew are like robots, they do not care. Food! I lost 4 lbs on that ship! I am glad they had a stop everyday in different place. I could properly feed myself and bring some real fresh food on the boat. I end up catching a nasty virus! A lot of people were sick.

Good things 1st. Locations visted and sail times great. But more time in Dubrovnic would have been better than corfu(everything shut from 2_4pm. So not much to do after a morning excersion and being there all day).
Our room attendent Venus very helpful, as was barmen I Made and Nhorman.

The ship itself was a nice design with a relaxed feeling. The top deck pool area had a bit of a party atmosphere, although the pool itself was tiny with about 30 or 40 people in it most of the day. האכזבה היתה מיד כשהגענו לקבלה. כששאלתי את פקידת השירות למה צריך לשלם יותר כדי לדעת מספר החדר אמרה שלא היה ולא נברא. תוך כדי דיבור הבנו שבמשרד הנסיעות הישראלי בארץ ביקשו מאתנו להוסיף 50$ כדי לקבל מספר חדר ולבחור שעה במסעדה. התברר לנו מהפקידה שאין דבר כזה. קוסטה לא מבקשת תוספת מחיר וכולם מקבלים מלכתחילה את מספר החדש ויכולים לבחור את השעה הרצויה להם לארוחת הערב.
