Just off the Costa Deliziosa 24 day transatlantic from Venice (Trieste) to Port Everglades.
Problems with embarkation: Arrived at the port from our Venice hotel via private water taxi. Ship was nowhere in sight! Was greeted by port personnel and told that due to heavy fog, we would need to be bussed to Trieste to begin our cruise. Was told that passengers were emailed/texted by Costa ...

Most of the highly critical reviews are unfair. Do your homework - this is an Italian line catering primarily to Europeans. If "foreigners" and hearing other languages upset you then stay home and go to Epcot instead. All crew members speak fluent English so that will not be a problem. A great variety of good food available at all meals... but (particularly on long cruses) do not expect fresh ...

We booked this cruise because of its destinations and reasonable price. Having been on Costa before on several occasions, we were aware of the potential problem with few english speaking passengers but this did not detract from our enjoyment.

Room steward was excellent but overworked, on other ships we never saw a room steward working every night at ten pm.
The waiters were overworked but excellent

We had booked a classic without view and were amazed when 3 weeks before sailing we got our cabin assignment - upgrade to a mini suite. The cabin was comfortable and clean and was our oasis of calm helped by a very efficient stewardess. This was the best thing about the entire cruise.

Wow fantastic, Fabulous food, brilliant entertainment, stunning dancers, well looked after ship and great service who could ask for more!

We have cruised with several shipping companies. Costa is without competition the worst we cruised with so our recommendation is do not throw away your money on this company and its ships.
The food on the ship was really lousy and badly cooked. Of 17 dinners only three approved the other was below standard. Let the shipping company sink to the ocean bottom.
