Costa Nightmare

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Magica

We chose this cruise because it seemed like good value for money and was visiting some ports not previously visited. We boarded Costa Majestica in Genoa and from then their organisational skills or non organisational skills became evident. It took at least 4 hours to get on the ship with no regard for the elderly or disabled. The cruise was 28 days from Genoa to Stockholm. Most of the crew were ...

My wife and I booked this and it's following cruise through a travel agents promotion in Australia. It looked like a good deal at the time. I have been on cruises with several other companies which have all been good. After booking this cruise we looked at cruise critic and were a bit shocked at some of the reviews which led us to be apprehensive about the trip. The embarkation was ok as ...

We have been on 10 cruises and Costa Magica does not rate very well compared to the others. We booked this just to see what other cruise lines had to offer and were pleased with the price but overall disappointed. Embarkations was the easiest so far....flawless and no lines. The ships overall appearance seems to be nice and updated. The rooms are roomy for a cruise ship and we were pleased. We ...

I've taken Costa 6 times the last 4 years. This was the least pleasant experience I've had with them. The spa was terrible - they should just close it. We did the "book a service, get spa access every day deal." It was always empty (not complaining about that), but here's why: *Wet robes - wouldn’t exchange *Wouldn’t let us cancel facials 48 hrs before appt - had to get manager *Kids' ...

Great itinerary, bad food & service

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

First and last time with Costa. The ship is well-designed but poorly operated and all was costly and of bad quality. The food was very poor, hygiene non-existent, which gave us stomach problems for weeks to follow, only eatable at dinner (with the right choice). The ship is billed as Italian, but the cook missed out on everything Italian. As the crew comes from all over the world, one has an ...

The itinerary was exactly what I was looking for in an 8 day cruise. Check-in was very efficient, drop your bag outside and agent verifies bag tag, number given for check-in group, waited only a few minutes until group was called, maybe 10 agents verifying documents, passed through security and on the ship, cabin keys on your bed in cabin. Very easy and efficient. You have to remember this ...
