Not our best cruise

Review for Costa neoClassica to Asia

This was my 4th cruise and my first with the Costa line. Will also be my last cruise with this line. The ship was small and we knew this, but the restrictions placed on teenagers was not acceptable. They had the option of one pool (small) and no Jucuzzi, unless they were 16 plus. What were they supposed to do, so it was boring on cruise days . Not even allowed to use the gym. The ship ...

From the moment you get to the port in Mumbai there is total confusion and chaos. We have been on about 30 cruises and this ship is the worst we have ever been on. The rooms are mediocre and unexceptional. There is no thought put in as to how to make it inviting. The ship looks "tired" and in need of some rejuvenation. There is nothing exciting going on and, quite honestly, the crew ...

No better way to see India by sea

We scuba dive and this itinerary gave me and my wife the opportunity to see India by flying into Bombay and use of the ship for a hotel for a day and half while touring Bombay. The ship was fantastic and the service superb. Americans on Costa get their water with or without gas free! This was a great surprise for us since I regularly drink water with gas. At night we had entertainment both ...

This was a deal offered by bookonline.com. Two back to back cruises over 14 days covering Mumbai, Mangalore, Cochin, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Goa & back to Mumbai. On entering our cabin, it was obviously tired and in need of refurbishment, there was only one socket for all our uses, which in these modern times is crazy. As always after a long flight etc. We made use of the coffee machine and water ...

Not as good as expected

The cabin was roomy and no problems. The cabin steward Lu was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for her. The excursion were quite pricey and a lot of wasted time that could have been utilised better. Sanya Island off China was a waste of time with only a few hours on land. Ha long Bay was fantastic and the best tour of the trip. Shannon- Marie was a great person who went out of her way ...

I have tried to give a honest and balanced review with hopefully some helpful tips,my wife and I have cruised a number of times on different lines but this is our first with Costa, sorry if I go on a bit. Flight- We flew with Emirates (A380) which were excellent with a stop at Dubai for 3 hours then onto Hong Kong with a 45 minute technical stop in Bangkok. Please note that Costa say your ...

Costa has by far the best organization (at least from Europe) of finding you at your origin airport, managing transfers and delivering you to the ship. Once again this proceeded flawlessly on our way from Frankfurt to Singapore. Things were a bit chaotic at the cruise terminal. That was my first clue. The Classica is the oldest ship in the Costa Inventory and it shows. The basic staff was ...

A Terrible Experience

Suffocating, Noise and Air Pollution, Poor Organization, Chaotic, Cheap, Demeaning, Refugee Feel, Low Quality of Food and Services -- these are words that associated with memory of our recent cruise to Halong Bay and Sanya with Costa Classica. Suffocating : To our surprise, smoking was allowed anywhere on board, even in cabins ! Some guests were smoking with their cabin doors open so you could ...

Costa Classica Disappointment

Unfortunately we hadn't read any reviews on the ship until after it was booked and paid for, and though we panicked on reading them, we still decided to go with an open mind. On December 23rd we eagerly boarded our much awaited holiday. As we have never done a Christmas or New Year cruise we couldn't wait. On walking onto the ship we immediately met the foul stench of cigarette and cigar ...

Great First Time Experience

Thank goodness we did NOT read the reviews of the Costa Classica before setting sailing. Otherwise, we may not have decided to go and could have missed out on a wonderful experience. The itinerary was outstanding - 9 ports of call - and at an unbeatable value. It would have taken us 3 times the price to see them all via flights and on-shore hotels,so cruising was the perfect option. The ...
