First impressions of the ship were that she was extremely well presented and fitted to a high standard. We were one of the very few guests from the Uk on board, and thought we might struggle with the entertainment. This was not a problem , as it was mostly in English. The shows were very good and we enjoyed all the entertainment. The communication issues of having to repeat everything in around 5 different languages, was very monotonous, making quizzes etc not worth the effort.! Many tour excursions for UK guests were not available- I suspect because there were not enough participants to warrant an English translator. Costa allow boarding at every port so it felt more like a hop on / hop off type amenity , and we did not experience the excitement you normally get on other cruise lines of the all on board sail off, when everyone boards together. Each day people were walking around with life jackets for their embarkation drill, which again meant the atmosphere never felt a relaxed or settled ship! We took the drinks package , which was good value - well we are Irish! One thing they didn't tell us that it doesn't apply to 3 of the speciality bars. The cabin was lovely, with great balcony and views , right at back of ship. One small thing I thought was a bit penny pinching for a brand new ship , was the fact they had shower curtains , rather than proper shower doors. Food in evening restaurant was good but forget breakfast! . You either have to queue for dining room for a hot seated breakfast, and that's before 9 am ,! Now who wants to do that on holidays unless your on an early trip?? Otherwise it was a cold continental breakfast in the buffet , or limited cold sundries served to your cabin! We didn't bother! Our biggest complaint- was that the ship was just too packed, with over 5000 guests on board. This caused problems with access for lifts, bar areas and buffet dining, during peak times. In the summer I also suspect sunbathing areas will be a problem , as I cannot fathom where people will go on sea days! By way of comparison , take a look at the new P&O Britannia. She is a bit bigger than this ship yet she will only carry 3000 passengers. Now what does that indicate??? Finally boarding at Naples was a Health and safety risk just waiting to happen. It was so much so, I made a formal complaint to management. I likened it to having the potential bot become another Hillsborough football disaster, because the ship arrived late and too many guests all tried to re board at once. The port authorities kept letting them into the boarding dock, and the 3 gangways couldn't cope. There was no queuing system at all , yet more people were let through than the gangway attendants could handle. People started to push from the rear and port authorities still let more people through in to a limited space! It was a bit frightening as I feared a major crushing incident or people getting pushed off the pier! Management did agree to review their procedures In summary- okay- but have been on much better!   Read Less

We sailed on the Costa Fascinocia Greek Isle Cruise in Nov 2014. The good things: ship very clean and cabin attendant was wonderful and happy all the time! Pizza in the specialty / pay xtra for was really good.. had taste and variety, espresso and cappuchino's good. lots of cold cuts/ meat if you are in to that. Now for the bad.... Very few restaurant choices...Food was absolutely horrible.. were to start... way too many to mention but will indicate a few items....... what little beef there was was overcooked as was the little amount of pork,1/8inch over cooked pork chops, all the rolls and buns dry, stale and crumbly, the pizza at buffet was ultra thin made on a dry hard tortia shell with not much taste of ingredients, hamburgers no taste and dry, very few / food choices at buffet,,, not enough seating at buffet, no chocolate milk, not much white milk, no cream for coffee, coffee was horrible,no ice cream other than pay vending machines, only a couple of desert choices, no buffet at supper time as you have to eat in restaurant at same time every night. Food in the sit down restaurant was nothing special as a matter of fact everything but the salad is pre-frozen as the menu states this.My wife asked for a caesar salad and was told no they don't have that available. We tried the sit down restaurant for breakfast and we were seated at long tables elbow to elbow and other than a fresh cooked omelette or fried eggs all the rest of the food was the same buffet food that you literally got up and helped yourself. We got up and left without eating there. The first night at the dinner restaurant we asked for a glass of wine each as we had purchased the all inclusive package. We were handed a bill for the price of the wine to which i reiterated we had the inclusive package. Apparently my Costa card only indicated Water on it..I asked the waiter to check in the computer as we had had several drinks in the bar that afternoon with no problems. I reiterated that we had paid for the all inclusive . Our Waiter indicated he was too busy to check and if i had a problem i had to go to customer service unless i had proof of documents right now. I said OK i will pay for them right now but I want to be reimbursed later . He indicated that would not happen . I left and went to my cabin as it was only two flights up and retrieved my documents of proof. I showed them to the waiter who told me to go to the customer service as was to busy to look into it. We got up and left our food and stood in the customer service line for ten minutes. there was two other people with the very same issue. The customer service person was horrified and very apologetic and issued us a new card right away. they did indicate that had the waiter run our card he would of seen we did indeed have the package and he could of fixed it if he wanted to.... I pointed out that the waiter did run our card as he provided us with a bill to pay for our wine. The ships entertainers/dancers tried their best but the productions were very high schoolish.. there was one female singer though that was really fantastic. there was a married acrobatic couple for one of the shows and they too were fantastic. For the excursions you met in the large theater and it was vary chaotic and everyone had to go up on stage to get your ticket/sticker.. this proved to be a crowded nightmare as elderly persons had trouble with the stairs and very crowded isles with everyone going up on stage.Once your excursion was called there was very little direction to go outside the ship to your bus.. what little direction there was was not relayed in the best of english to say the least. On the days at Sea only four bars for the entire 3000 passenger ship were available during the day. (all others were only open after six/seven pm )So i ended up getting all our own drinks at the bar as this was way faster than sitting (if you could find a seat) and waiting for a waiter/waitress to service you. In our whole week on board we only observed five ship personnel actually smiling and happy. the rest were frowning and or lacked any type of interest in what they were actually doing. All the public rest rooms had automatic doors to which almost half of them that i frequented did not work.. I had to literally force open a door many times for myself and others. There were not many rest rooms available as they were very sparse indeed. I could go on and on but I won't....All in all the experience was terrible!! this was our eighth cruise but our first and last with Costa.. We will stick with Norwegian as there is no comparison!.. We love cruising as opposed to the all inclusive on the beach resorts...as a matter of fact we just booked a Caribbean Cruise again with Norwegian ... this will be our eight with NCL!!   Read Less

Just go back from a 12 night western med cruise on the NeoRviera. The ship is older (1999) but recently re-furbished. Great ship . . .had one of the best cabins in over 70 cruises on 8 different cruise lines. We had one if the few "mini-suites" . . .a balcony cabin with a walk in closet and both tub and shower! The Costa "slow cruise" concept has overnights and very late port departures . . . easing the pressure to "get back in time". The staff is typical Costa . . . attentive and efficient. The odd stuff? Well, imagine a dining room that serves 6 course meals but does not serve coffee (you can't beg or buy it). Bottled water in included, but coffee is not and nowhere to be found (except in coffee bars). Or how about a 6 course well done dinner menu with only one meat entre? Good and interesting options at every other course . . . but one meat main course. The odd thing US travelers need to really understand is that Costa will cancel scheduled tours if they don't get enough people for a language . . . or out you on a multi-language bus which MIGHT include your mother tongue. We gave up on ship tours a long time ago but this drives people nuts. Net-net? If you want a somewhat upscale and very Italian experience, go Costa. But remember it will be Italian and it will be a bit more formal and structured.   Read Less

That is my biggest bit of advice to anyone considering a Costa Cruise......spend a bit more money on another cruise line and get better value for money. What was wrong with this cruise - I think it is quicker to say what was right with this cruise!!!! I'll start with the positive...the ship itself was great, the cabin great and the cabin steward great and that is where the greatness stops. From the moment we arrived at the cruise terminal in Venice the chaos started - embarkation took 3 hours!!!!! I would have thought from the number of reviews regarding Costa's embarkation process they would have sorted it by the time we cruised - obviously they do not read these reviews. So after 3 hours of sitting and waiting in the cruise terminal we finally boarded the boat, with no room key or room information - we entered onto Deck 3 and had no idea what to do or where to go. It was up to you to figure out what deck your cabin was on and where to find your cabin. Chaos reigned once again on Deck 3 as people congregated trying to figure out how to find their cabin. From here on in things just got worse - the service was shocking, the food was shocking, the crew were shocking (from the waiters, bartenders, shore excursion desk and information desk - the only person who understood what service was and knew how to smile was our cabin steward.) I did not have high expectations for this cruise due to the reviews I had read previously but unfortunately this was the only cruise available in the time frame we had. It didn't bother me that English was the 5th and last language on the boat, or that all entertainment was in Italian what bothered me was the lack of service at the restaurants and bars. Not once did a bartender/waiter approach us to ask if we wanted a drink - every time we were in a bar we had to approach one ourselves and then you felt like you were interfering with their routine. When at the bar itself you quickly learnt to be pushy and forward because if you waited for someone to notice you, you would have waited hours for a drink - the Europeans and the rudest people I have ever met - they don't understand the meaning of waiting for their turn to be served they just push in front and order over the top of you. The food was repetitive with what looked like left over buffet lunch dished up at the buffet dinner - with maybe a bit of leftover breakfast sausage added to it. We had an all inclusive drinks package and couldn't have the drink of our choice in the restaurant at dinner - wine or beer only, which contradicts what their advertising said about the package. After the second night they had no 7up available at dinner so in the end I would preorder 2-3 drinks and take them to dinner with me. When you order your coke or 7up you get 1/2 a can in a small glass - when we asked for a large glass to make use of the full can we were told the large glasses were for beer only.....so half the time you got a coke or 7up it was flat as the can has sat opened for god knows how long. The orange juice at breakfast on the first morning was really nice - everyday after that it was watered down so much it had no taste, the scrambled eggs at breakfast had no taste they were watered down so much and the custard dessert in the restaurant tasted just like the scrambled eggs. There were far too many passengers (3500+) for the size of the ship and not enough crew. The queues at lunch and breakfast were horrendous and when you finally had your food there were no seats available to sit anywhere and eat it. By the time you found somewhere to sit your food was cold. One day we queued for 40 mins to get lunch. We spoke to many people on board this cruise who said it was the worst cruise they had ever experienced and those that were cruising for the first time were put off for life. One more thing that was annoying was the number of children in the adult only pools.....what is the point of having adult only pools if no one is monitoring this rule. I could go on about the lack of service and the rudeness of the crew but even though they choose this kind of life, it is disgusting that they have to work 8mths solid without a day off. I would never ever recommend this cruise line to anyone.   Read Less

A new Ship, beautiful! The rooms are big enough and most facilities needed are available, clean and neat. Definetely buy the Boys and Girls Softdrink package that they have, you save a bit with this. Everything worth doing on the ship is however charged for...Grand Prix and Golf Simulator, use of Spa Steam rooms, 4D Movies etc. Our waiter and our room attendant was stunning, the chefs/cooks and receptionist could learn somethng from them, they were quite rude when asking for something, like "how dare you ask attitude" (Had to ask for butter to be refilled or teaspoons at the coffee stations) Our safe did not work and when you phone the number they tell you to, no one answers, so we left it after reception just told us to keep on trying. Food was good, but average, their coffee sucks. It is in fact an italian ship, but expected more staff to be able to speak and understand english as they had Guests from all over the world, all their onboard entertainers and shows are also not in english, so not so enjoyable and could not really join in on some of them. Furthermore we enjoyed the trip and ports, their daily program is well organized and planned with lots of info. I would however say, unless you get a Costa cruise at a very good price, choose another cruise company.   Read Less

This was the ONLY cruise ship available for the one week we could sail and go to the ports we wanted to visit. The food was sub-par. The crew was miserable and literally opened up about how poorly they're treated and paid by Costa. Ever since Carnival Cruise Lines purchased Costa, everything's gone downhill. The entertainment was extremely poor. The dancers acted as if they were practicing just going through the motions, and not really performing. It was an embarrassment for them. The activities director NEVER spoke one word in English. Most of the cruisers were Italian and she catered to them 100%. This was the overall theme the entire week! Even the nightly DJ'S spoke and exclusively played italian. It was as if they were purposely trying to exclude ALL NON-ITALIANS!! Many of our excursions were canceled because "there weren't enough English-speaking cruisers on board," so we were told. Never again will we sail on Costa Cruise Lines!!! They couldn't pay us to cruise with them again. Read Less

The ship was clean and well cared for. Staff very nice, I even tipped extra. The food however was horrible. Very few dinning choices and most had an extra cost to eat such as hamburger or even a pizza. I get that if you want something that cost more like lobster but a hamburger really? Speaking of the lobster one of our group members tried it. He said it looked green and slimy and thought that was just how it was prepared. It was hard to tell because of how bad the food was everywhere else. He ended up with food poisoning as well as my wife whom had eating some eggs. The serving times where so short that you had nowhere to sit and eat. The staff even stopped the serving lines 15 to 20 minutes early so many time we went with out eating. No big loss their. They allowed smoking on most of the ship including dinning areas so you couldn't get fresh air. We even had my own balcony but we couldn't even use that because our neighbors smoked on the balcony next to us. We totally waisted our money. They also have several hidden charges that we discovered later. Geev Galvez and his helper Charle Ramirez. They worked in the main dinnig room for the special dinner. The service was spot on. Drinks before we even had to ask for them and offered different food choices as they notced people not eating the food. Not their falt on the food qulity but they did their best. Other service in restraunts was good to vary poor. We ate one night at the pizza / hambeger place and after asking 6 times to get someting to drink we all took turns to go to the buffet to get drinks and come back. We never did get any drinks that we didn't go get our selfs. Read Less

Having chose this cruise for its destinations, we where surprised to find that this ship was exceptionally old and the food was exactly the same. The food in the buffet was unappetising and always luke warm and most times cold. The lack of hand sanitation was incredible, every other cruise we have been on there has been hand washing stations all over the ship, not on Costa! Yet there are signs and displays saying about washing hands etc, though no facilities. No waiters to take your drinks order on Piu Gusto package, if you didn't drink wine or water you had to go to the bar your self. The dining room was ok but the food wasn't much better and the noise as several times the staff and crew decided to do impromptu dances etc and to celebrate the captain or crew making a grand entrance that ruined dinner. The crew very rarely smiled and the poor waitresses in the bars etc mainly all philapino bless them working 15 hour days and hardly any appreciation though the captain and crew expected us to do a song and dance for him doing his job as they where. Also this is a multinational boat be prepared for exceptionally loud announcements in several different languages, the last being English so if the boat was going down we would have drowned! Dining the food was often repetitive and luke warm or cold, the waiters did their best with the tools they had. Activities we did not take part in any though there was some dotted all around. Cabin staff where ok but only came once a day. Most of the staff where ok but the odd few did spoil it by not even being able to smile. Entertainment was ok but also a bit repetitive as with a lot of other things. the bulk of the passengers where italian as its an italian line. Alas some passengers where quite rude and abrupt which spoilt the whole experience The worrying thing is Costa will not read this and wont respond so it will just continue, this was like going from first class to economy! I'm not sure I can even describe how bad this cruise was (for comparison we've cruised Costa, Aida, Holland-America, Royal Caribbean, and Disney in Med, North Sea, Fjords, Carribean) and we were in one of the deck 11 suites. The friendly staff was incompetent and the marginally competent staff was rude. A main restaurant waiter literally argued with my wife about the salad dressing one night instead of bringing additional dressing as requested. Another waiter would not even acknowledge your request. You would have to ask multiple times for a drink or anything else. Food...that's a generous description. Nothing on board remotely resembled it's original state. It was virtually inedible. The ranch dressing at the buffet was watered down. It was more like ranch flavored milk. We would have starved without in port restaurants. Cabin service?? Nope. Can't reach anyone on the telephone. Cabin steward number times out after 10:00. Ran out of toilet paper one night and the bar tender on the deck 11 forward was the only one who helped. They installed metal strips in the hallway one day with silicon bonding caulk so noxious the fumes woke me up. The ONLY positive things I can say about this ship is that 1) because the beds were old inner-spring it was marginally comfortable 2) the layout of 11108 suite was nice with the floor to ceiling windows and large closet and 3) the staff at the deck 11 starboard forward bar were friendly and made a good cappuccino. Very disappointed in the food served - the Italian influence was missing - I have traveled in Europe and did not recognize this reported influence - a staff person reported that being a repositioning cruise the quality was diminished. This was Basic Transportation - pure and simple. During our 19 days we got sick on day 5 and remained sick for the next 4 weeks. Everyone on the ship had or have had this virus. Other than Purel stations placed in the buffet area little or precautionary measures were visible. I did email to Costa Customer Service about my experience - got a letter back that in summary said they would use the feedback for future travelers and 'To Bad - come back again sometime' - Never again Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the indoor pool. Pool was closed for planned maintenance for the full week! Noone informed us it would be closed. Majority of the English speaking excursions were cancelled and there were very few things for English speakers on board. Again Noone informed us there would be a chance of the excursions being cancelled. Be warned you have to pay for EVERYTHING on this ship. Food is only served at specific timings. You have to pay for water. Also, staff is not so friendly. The overall attitude of the staff is down like they do not want to be there. We were reprimanded for using a different glass for our milk in the morning and we were also told we could not have a second entree. After arguing he only agreed. Maybe this is how all European cruises are but I do not think so. If you have a choice steer clear of Costa Cruises and opt for any other cruiseline. Read Less

WE chose this trip because of the itinerary despite reading a lot of negative reviews. BIG MISTAKE. The food in the main restaurant was DISGUSTING. The staff was arrogant and unhelpful. The port calls were either too brief to do any real sightseeing or were at ports that really had nothing to do with tourism (Bari. It, Corfu, Gr). All of our excursions were booked through the ship. They were, to be generous, lame. There was widespread coughing onboard and both my wife and I returned with serious infections. Nobody used the hand sanitizers. The entertainment was all in italian (one night was supposed to be pop songs and featured three renditions of Volare while another night's entertainment was opera) and cheap beyond belief. Smoking is permitted in all of the outdoor areas of the ship and on the balconies. They charged for soda at lunch and for water at dinner. Almost everything came at an additional cost. I wish I had listened to all of the reviewers and hope that this will help you to avoid what we suffered. AVOID COSTA LIKE THE PLAGUE. Read Less

It was my 50th birthday this year & to celebrate we chose a Miami 3 night stay & Western Caribbean cruise with Celebrity through Cruise 365. There were 8 of us on the holiday (family) & we had a truly amazing time from start to finish. It was our first time cruising & everything from the Art Deco hotel in Miami to our time on the Celebrity Equinox was perfect. We had such a fantastic experience that when we returned my Wife & I decided to book another cruise & stay holiday for just the two of us later in the year. We compared several deals through Planet Cruise, Iglu & Cruise 365. We wanted a cruise deal that took in destinations that we hadn't previously visited & eventually found what we thought looked like a great deal with Iglu. It was a 12 night cruise & stay deal which included a 3 night stay in Lake Garda, 2 night stay in Venice & a 7 day cruise on the Costa Luminosa. We boarded the ship on the Saturday afternoon which took around 1.5 hours. The buffet food was pretty much the same every day & very much like school or canteen dinners. Some of the stations weren't open. We had set dining in the restaurant at 18.45 but this wasn't much better unfortunately. The food was very average & the choice seemingly aimed exclusively at the Italians. As a result we only ate in the restaurant once. You had to pay extra for things like pizza, burgers & steak. We had a drinks package but this didn't include water. Coffee was only available from the drinks machine in the mornings. The ship felt a bit scruffy & most of the staff seemed a bit miserable. The entertainment was ok on 2 or 3 nights but dire for the rest of the time. I think there were about 1900 people on the ship with no more than around a dozen English people. There were over 1600 Italians. This wasn't a problem for us other than we found them to be very loud, quite ignorant & lacking in manners. At mealtimes it became a bit of a free for all. We enjoyed most of the destinations but the timings weren't particularly great. The ship had a bad vibration for long periods of time making the experience uncomfortable. Overall, the cruise was a huge disappointment. None of what we experienced was special in any way & didn't compare to the amazing experience we had with Celebrity although the price we paid was very similar. Our verdict: Sorry Costa but if you want to provide a positive cruise experience then you need to see how Celebrity do it. If this had been our first cruise it would most certainly have been our last. Never again with Costa. Read Less

This has been my absolute worst trip ever (I have travelled to over 60 countries) and never experienced such a lousy service and environment in all my previous trips! -Paid over 1500 Euro for a inside cabin per person with unlimited drinks for this trip for me and my girlfriend. -I was lied to about price of drink from bartender and later, I AM NOT trusted by the receptionist. (Johnie Walker Gold label. Was told I was going to be charged the difference of what my drink package included vs listed price. but got charged full 15 Euro drink price) -The jacuzzi was too warm to enjoy. We only visited ONCE and never used it again. -The pool was impossible to use. Only children occupying it! -Children everywhere. Absolutely everywhere. It is not acceptable for example to see kids and teens in the nightclub at 1AM occupying the whole dance floor. There was no space on the entire boat other than inside our room, where I could enjoy quality time with my girlfriend in peace without kids shouting or bumping into us!!!! -We paid 30 euros each for a "luxury" dining experience at Teppanyaki. We got sat right next to 3 little children who could not sit still and made lots of noises. We were met by apologies from the Chief of Restaurant, but no discount or any other compensation was offered. I expect some level of service and environment when I pay 60 Euros on top of my all inclusive!!! -Childish servers and staff on the boat. I invite you to see this for yourself by going undercover. For example: Talking with them-self, laughing and when they look at me: Their face turns very serious like they are having a joke! I saw this in two different places on the boat by different staff. Maybe its humor from their side, very stupid one if that is ture, but that is not acceptable if you want to deliver good international customer service. They should meet clients with a smile at least! -Restaurant service: -Waiting 30 min. after sitdown for first drink even before ordering food. This happened on several occasions!! -Mix up of food and tables. For example, in one instance we waited for champagne 20 minutes. After waiting so long, I see our champange delivered to next table. I inmediately let know the waiter that it is probably mine. He said nothing and went away without aplogizing. We had to wait another 20 minutes for the champagne we ordered while waiting for our food and no other drinks at our table! I sent a email to higher mgmt. at Costa and Carnival cruises to ask for their opinion about my feedback, no response yet. (4 days ago). Read Less

Too many people.Too many italians. Too many childs. At the restaurant slow service and bad food and wine, Buffet with limited choice and poor quality. Difficult to find a seat at the buffet. Absolutely unsatisfactory breakfast. Cabins not cleaned well and ready only after 1 or 2 p.m. Rude staff at the reception desk. Poor entertainement and excursions too expensive. Slow and confusing boarding procedures. Difficult to find a seat during the shows. Approximate cleaning of common areas. Staff completely insufficient for the size of the ship. Long waits to talk to someone at the reception. No information provided to those who do not buy the excursions and who want to use public transport. You have to pay for everything. Bad experince overall. Definitively we have spent a lot of money to get a similar treatment to a scheduled ferry. Excluding Rome, the itinerary is not so interesting. Never again! Any usefull information to save money: MARSEILLE: use the free shuttle bus provided by the port Authority (500 yd from ship); BARCELONA: use the PUBLIC shuttle bus from cruise terminal; PALMA: use the PUBLIC BUS from cruise terminal to city center; CAGLIARI: the city center is just in front of you. Visit the city by yourself; ROMA: Be careful not to use unauthorized taxis. Best way is to go to ROMA SANPIETRO by train (www.trenitalia.com). Alternatively you may buy the only trasportation with a bus company at exit of the port. Read Less

First problem that costa only sent the e tickets 3 days before the cruise after ringing the tour oppertater daily to this. The restaurants have the same menu each day for breakfast lunch and evening with an ever so slight tweak. There was a hot dog burger area, being a vegetarian i requested a veggie burger and was told that I could have one in the designated restaurant that evening with a charge. The options on the menu were poor. Usually on a cruise a slice of pizza as a snack is usually an option, but not with costa an whole pizzas has to be purchased. A second seating option that I asked to have on numerous occasions but was refused, but do not totally understand why as each stop passengers were embarking and disseminating. The cut off time for the self service restaurant was 9.30, therefore one had to eat before this time , if they felt like it or not usually there is somewhere to have a snack if feeling hungry before bed time. The first seating was 6.45 and second seating was 9.15, usually water is served free of charge , but only bottled water was available with a charge. We came back on board late one night as we had a early morning sailing. Every were was closed, the only cold water station was out if water and glasses. We went to the bar at the back of the ship were the staff were clearing away to be totaly ignored by the staff, a young member of staff was very helpful and provided us with water. Also lipstick was found on a drinking mug on another occasion. The staff were entirely rude and missarsble, the were without a smile or greeting. The entertaimment was flat usually there is something for everyone. There were no port talks, no information on port transfers only what was provided by costa at a higher cost. Whilst in our stateroom, there constant interruptions with tanoy announcements. There was not many places on board to have a quiet time to read, it seemed to be constant noise everywhere. We have been with numerous cruise lines and never had an experience like this.We enjoyed our stops and tended to have a meal off board . The only tv channels available were the news channels all other channels were in different languages and only films available were with a charge. It's our first and last cruise with costa and would not recommend it to anyone . Read Less

I am returning from a Costa Cruise on Costa Luminosa. I spent ca. $10,000 for a suite, a cabin with a balcony and on board extras. This was my first time with Costa. Although I did enjoy my food experience in the special restaurant that is assigned in my category, I will NOT travel Costa in the future for the following reasons: - it is not until I wrote to Costa that I got an itemized onboard expenses summary. - it is impossible to sleep well on board as their ships don't seem to be sound proof. More specifically: cabin doors at poorly designed and people tend to party in the hallway. I did not have a noise problem on Celebrity or Royal Carribeans. - the spa was huge (a big plus) but it is not relaxing at all: my first treatment was poorly scheduled as I could not participate in the mandatory drill. - it is not easy to have the staff stick to the price that was discussed at the spa. Sorry Costa: I do like the italian vibes of the people onboard, but it was not relaxing at all considering all the money I spent. Read Less
