We had used Costa once and were not very pleased, the only reason we chose it again is because it was the only cruise that we found that would go to Norway on the dates we had available.
The ports of call were spectacular, enjoyed the views, the fjords, nature, falls and train rides.
It was a multicultural experience with people from a lot of nationalities.
The food was average, being ...
We choose this cruise for its itinerary and a very competiive price. We have 21 cruises behind us and this was our third with Costa so we knew what could be expected and not. Embarkation in Dubai after 6 pm was very swift, no doubt helped by the fact that many passengers had already boarded the day before in Abu Dhabi.
The ship may be a bit old but is kept tidy and is in a good condition. ...
Just very shortly:
A cabin with a window means that the window looks at the side of a tender boat just half a meter away. It totally blocks all view, the cabin practically equals an inside cabin. We were given a shady explanation on some sort of a "lottery" for guaranteed cabins, which means that Costa can give you worse cabins you thought you had paid for. Quite interesting practice from ...
Embarkation
We picked this cruise because the dates fitted our needs and it was departing from the UK. I've cruised extensively with multiple cruise lines, but this was only my friend's second time at sea having travelled with P&O last time. It was relatively inexpensive at around £680 for the week including a drinks package.
Embarkation was disappointing. We were 2 of only 65 guests joining ...
We did a Med. cruise on this ship and it was , well ok, but I couldn't say I would recommend it to anyone, in fact I would not recommend Costa t anyone other than an Italian, why, well it's because they don't really care about anyone much other than the Italian passengers.
The annoncements are in Italian , sometimes repeated in English if you could call it that, very hard to understand most ...
I'll begin saying that every single cruise I have made so far has been a great experience, and this one is no exception. But as this is a review, I should also point out that compared to other cruise lines and ships, this one was somewhat disappointing.
The good
This baltic itinerary is wonderful! Stockholm, Helsinki, St Petersbourgh and Tallinn are all wonderful places to see. There was ...
Lots of sightseeing, no days at sea and ... Petersburg! It is difficult to explore it differently!
It was clean, although the ship is old. Visitors are almost all Italians. The TV was very blurred and the program was poor. The kitchen is almost exclusively Italian. The self service bar was small. Tea only once a day, for tea time. Very good service, both in the restaurant and in the cabin. ...
6 ports in 10 days plus a rare opportunity to go to an Arab country. The itinerary was fantastic and the ports themselves met my expectations. As for the ship, well, that also met my rather low expectations. I had cruised once when I was much younger and didn't really enjoy the experience of being trapped on a boat with people with questionable hygiene and d-list entertainers (hey, I've lived ...
Barcelona 2 days before departure - fantastic called H10 - apx 10 mins walk from beach, easy metro/underground to use
Cruise
2 Adults from UK boarded ship (all age ranges on board and nationalities).
Decor really over the top ! mirrors, colours, cleaning must be a nightmare ! Thought we were in a film set, ha ha
Inside cabin good, service good all round on ship
Dining geared to ...
I choose this cruise for the visit to Naples. I was disappointed with the food. too me the buffet was very blan and the dinners where not anything special. If the cooking was Italian at it´s best then I would query this.
The organization was lacking on the cruise.
The cabin was very reasonable.
I thought that the decore of the Ship was very over powering and heavy making you feel very ...
