Just returned home after our incredibly delightful journey across the Atlantic on the Costa Mediterranea with a few day's post-cruise stay in Trieste, Italy.
We began our trip with very low expectations due to most of the recent Mediterranea reviews blasting the "tasteless" food and other problems. Our personal experience was so much the opposite that I almost feel I was on an entirely ...
The Mediterranea is a beautifully appointed ship. Marble everywhere including the salon floors. The food is wonderfully prepared and served by excellent waiters. I had a balcony cabin on 8th floor it was spacious and well laid out for two people with plenty of storage space. Bathroom was a good size. The staff was at all times friendly and helpful. One of the nice things: You arrive at the ports ...
The embarkation was as smooth as can be - "sailed" right through!
The ship is absolutely gorgeous with fine attention to detail - Roman but not overdone. The ship is well maintained and very clean. The service is exceptional. We found the entertainment to be varied and first rate. The Italian tenor sang popular arias and received a standing ovation at both performances! Our cabin steward ...
My husband and I were "first timers" and traveled with another couple who had gone on a previous cruise. Costa was a new name to us, but our travel agent assured us that it was an excellent cruise line. We booked rather late, mid-February for a March 1 cruise and chose the option that included airfare. We were a little upset at having to leave home at 3:30 am to make a 6:00am flight, but this is ...
Embarkation...an utter breeze. We arrived at 1130 waited on line outside terminal for 5 minutes until they opened the doors and were on the ship in 20 minutes.painless and lots of friendly smiling faces leading the way.Got on ship and were pleasantly greeted by members of the animation team. Cabin..obstructed view outside cabin with french doors to let the air in. Was 200sft, incredibly ...
Of all the cruises we've been on, our spring break trip on the Costa Mediterranea was one of the best! Embarkation went smoothly and quickly, due to the fact that Costa had many agents available to answer questions and point us in the right direction. Also, our bags were delivered to the room shortly after we boarded the ship. The rooms were much more spacious than the other cruises we have been ...
The Costa Mediterranea. Feb 2 - 8, 2008. the eastern Caribbean with stops at San Juan, PR; St. Thomas; La Romana, DR; and Grand Turk.
Altogether, Costa Mediterranea, was a real vacation value. Even though we booked a guaranteed obstructed balcony, we were assigned an unobstructed balcony on deck seven. Embarkation was easy. We had flown in the day before and rented a car to explore Ft. ...
After 8 cruises we decided to sail Costa for something different. And it was a wonderful cruise. The ship is beautiful, all week long some new discovery in art work or sculpture. Definitely felt like I have visited Italy. Enjoyed this ship as if it had been my first cruise.
Embarkment: Arrived at ship 11:55am and boarded in about 10 minutes. Had the photo done and entered with music playing, a ...
We had a fun family cruise aboard the Costa Mediterranea over Christmas week. It's a great ship with a wonderfully Italian flair. While English is the primary language on board virtually all the cruise staff speaks Italian and many of the activities will be in Italian/English. French and German are also widely spoken on board.
This was our 16th cruise, the third on Costa, so there were no ...
We flew to FLL and had arranged for transfer to Rodeway Inn Airport/Cruiseport. I would not recommend this hotel. We called the Rodeway 3 times and waited over 1 hour for pickup. We arrived at 11am and were told rooms would not be available until 3pm. The desk did lock up our luggage while we ate lunch. There is nothing close to this hotel. We ate at the hotel next door, just a greasy spoon ...
