The Ship was amazing, we were well impressed with the Shows, the food was lovely and a good choice but it was never more than lukewarm which was a shame, the staff work so hard and are so friendly. We bought one of the middle drinks packages it and proved to be a godsend as the drinks were expensive. We did find it hard work getting back on the Ship after a trip. I also slipped up on deck 10 near the Lido Buffet and had to see the hospital doctor who's bill was €352.00 of which €100 was for a BANDAGE which is a bit extreme by any standards, really thought I would at least be able to use my EHIC as it was an accident onboard , this then spoilt my holiday as I had badly damaged my knee so was in a wheelchair for the 4 days out of 7 and unable to take the wheelchair on shore. So a group of 7 girls decided to go on a cruise for one of our friends 40th birthday, only 2/7 people has done a cruise before so it’s an amazing idea on something different to do. We boarded at Barcelona, everything went very smooth, the check in staff were helpful and informative, so sat at the bar waiting to be called. After looking at the info the check in desks give we head into our room, collect the cards and walk out. We then go to reception get a drink, go for an explore, then head to the top deck. That’s when it goes slightly downhill, no one knows what to do next, we didn’t know about the entertainment information or the timetable as we were so excited to go exploring we seemed to miss the little pigeonhole right next to the door, I finally understood on the last night. Not Costas fault but it’s not explained very well once onboard the ship. Also being a group on girls on a birthday weekend I think there was a few more drinks flowing than normal. At 6.30 there was a safety demonstration which lasted about 20 odd minutes, then off to dinner for 9.15pm, that was a definite eye opener so very busy, the waiter we had wasn’t at all friendly (although we later found out they can work up to 8 months and that’s without a day off), even I don’t think I could plaster a smile on my face everyday. While dining in the main buffet Michael Jackson started blaring on the loud speaker, then up out of no where all the waiters start jumping about dancing. That was amazing as it comes out of nowhere!! Food was good, although the menu can get confusing as the waiter never did explain that you can order anything and everything if you choose. We all dance the night away and that was a great first night. Next morning with a slight hangovers and an early morning wake up call as someone managed to get locked out of their room and went off with another friend in another cabin, we all shower and up we get for a buffet breakfast. I can see from the choice of breakfast that they do try to cater for different nationalities but the breakfast isn’t great to be honest. I try some pancakes and bacon and that’s it. The coffee also isn’t great as unlike the bars where they have a machine and a milk frother they don’t have in the buffet, so water or orange juice is the way forward, also they don’t have a toaster, and the bread is rock solid. You could kill a bird with it. Off we go to marseille, hmmm next time I won’t bother as there’s not overly a lot to do there, walked around, saw some buildings, forced an alcoholic drink down our neck and back on the boat. lunch at the buffer, again it wasn’t too great, rock hard bread again, some warm focaccia, pasta, and a big lump of beef with potatoes, not great if you’re a vegetarian (I’m not, but 2 of our friends are). Go to dinner at 9.15pm, this time the waiters dance to some latin songs, ver well done again. Then another repeat of the night before, more drinks and dance the night away). The 3rd morning head off to the buffet again, this time no pacncakes, I don’t eat eggs so not a lot to choose from, I grabbed 2 pieces of French bread with cinnamon and some pineapple, that will do. We get off at Savona, 1 MASSIVE tip, other than supermarkets everything else shuts at 1.30 and opens back up at 4.30, unfortunately we have to be back on the ship by 4.30 so we spent an hour walking in a group of 7, with different people trying to find a restaurant just so we can get a pizza, it didn’t go down too well but got there in the end. Back on the ship, more drinks, a lot more passengers so the bar on deck 9 was a complete nightmare, then off we go again. Down to shower, off to the 9.15pm dinner, waited until 10pm to ask the waiter what time will the dancing be on tonight, he tells us there won’t be any, shame, so we all thanked him, 3 went off to bed, 4 of us decided to pop off to the casino. Within half hour our 50€ was spent and off to the bar we go. A few more drinks down our necks an the conversation turned to the bar staff. When we took 5 minutes out of our busy lives to see the amount they work, the stuff they have to put up with, and the hours they work on a daily basis, I’m so grateful for my life. The amount of time they’re away from home, they don’t see their families for months and months at a time. While we go on holiday they’re there at our beck and call when we want a drink or service. So thank you Henry and Danny for that night. So last morning just before we go to Barcelona, we set our alarms to make the restaurant breakfast. I do wish I’d gone there before but to be there by 9 is a bit of a deal breaker, unfortunately again we had a not so friendly waiter and had to be called about 3 times before he would come over to serve, at least it was nice. Back to the room to get our stuff as we had to be out by 10. We decided to go back to deck 9, as we started off from there a few more Prosecco to finish up the holiday, and off we go to the shops, pay our bill at the desk and get ready to leave. As they bleep mine and my roommates cats and unfamiliar buzz goes off, we’re not allowed to leave but everyone else disembarked, so back off to the desk to sort the cards out. Cards done and out we go. The 2 of us are last to pick up our luggage go through everything and my friend realizes she’s had some money stolen from her case. Do not leave any money in your case. There’s signs around saying the same so I don’t know what was going through her mind at that time when she left the case outside the door the night before. You HAVE to leave your cases outside of the room the night before for them to collect it. They advise to leave the cases the night before by 12 midnight and no later than 1am, but I witnessed them not coming until 3.30 am. Do not leave anything valuable at all. There’s always people workers and non workers wandering the hallways so could have been anyone. I also had stuff taken but luckily not money. Anyway other than the little hiccup at the end it all went well. I also missed the last day lunch as I was too busy booking my next cruise onboard. This time as a family, so hopefully the next one will be a little less partying and a little less hangovers. On the last note, be aware that if you suffer from rocking on land, It’s been 48 hours and I still don’t feel great and I’m still rocking and swaying. Maybe I was a little hasty in booking the next one but I’m sure I’ll be over it then. Read Less

There is not enough time to see anything on land, even on tours. Food is so so and the same dishes are repeated over the week. Drinking water is not free in the restaurant and ridiculously expensive. Entertainment on board is boring and are outdated even for seniors. The cruise ship is too small and not ther is enough to do. Even the swimming pool is so small, just like a whirlpool. In general, the restaurant and bar staff are very friendly and accommodating. Most of them are happy to serve, even if you can tell that they hardly have any break. The service is the only one I have really good to say. Embarkation and going through immigration takes so long, at least an hour, when you only have 4-5 hours after disembarking. Overall, it’s a waste going on this cruise. If you expect to see Japan, fly directly to Japan and skip this cruise. There are also hidden fees that they won’t tell you until you are booked. They will also require for the tips on top of the cost. Read Less

We chose this cruise especially for the weather in this region at this time of the year. We traveled with a group of sixteen people. Four families with children between 15 and 23 years old.The procedure for boarding and disembarking was childishly simple and hardly time consuming. You can see that the ship comes at age but everything was in excellent condition. And the staff were visibly busy with her duties throughout the day. As if it were a military operation. Every day I put a fingerprint in the elevator, but within a few hours it was polished away. The ship is equipped with a diesel-hybrid propulsion. This results is an almost vibration-free experience. Noticeably better than all other cruises that we have previously made. And; no soot on the stern as we have experienced on previous cruises. Our cabin (Standard Balcony Hut) was fine, clean and had a spacious balcony. A few more wall sockets may be installed; there is only one wall socket installed at the desk. The dinners and other food on board are of excellent quality and you have more than enough choices. In any case much better than most of us eat at home! What is annoying is that there are many times that all restaurants are closed at the same time for several hours. You can not get anything to eat on the entire ship. This is especially difficult for our children who came out of bed late. You get the impression that it seems to have something to do with cost savings. That is a serious flaw of this ship and different than we have experienced on all our other cruises. In terms of entertainment, there is enough choice for everyone. Nothing special, however. An average experience compared to previous cruises. In general; the staff on board is fine. We had a not so customer-friendly cleaner at our cabin. If we wanted to go to our cabin during cleaning, this man was very irritated to us. The other participants from our group luckily did not have this experience. The Italian staff at the reception was not particularly friendly and helpful. But luckily we did not need that much. Our route took us to Dubai, Muscat, Sir Bani Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Due to a rough sea we unfortunately could not disembark to Sir Bani Yas Island. After a sea day, that was a minor disappointment. The ship therefore immediately headed for Abu Dhabi where we had an extra evening. In Abu Dhabi buses were ready to take us to a shopping center for free. Our children have had a great time on board. This was partly because we were with a group ourselves. I do not think we will choose this ship again for a next cruise. But if it just happens to have the right itinerary for us, then we do not doubt and we choose Costa again. Read Less

We picked this cruise as a package leaving La Romana in the Dominican Republic a one week cruise and then a one week stay at the Be Live Canoa in La Romana. At almost every port new travellers boarding the ship, and every time a safety drill onboard even as late as10:30pm at night blasting in our rooms even us who already did our drill on the first day. Food menu is basically always the same day to day. If you look for tea in the evening the hide it away, and you must ask for it. Who knows why? The state rooms are well kept, and ship is clean. We had a cabine on the second level and heard loud noises from the floor above us which were the fridge units for the dining area. At all times of the night heard shovelling noises and piling of boxes or so. Last day of cruise they offered us to sleep on the eight floor balcony room, and we did, sleped like a baby no noise. We should have complained sooner. I had my lounge chair taken away from me by an Italian tourist, him saying its an italian boat and they have sonority over us. Called security and argued for a while but he won, and me off looking for another place to sit. We watched him and his group to get off the chair but they never left. He had people relaying him to sit in my place. They can keep there ships. Never again will our group of 10 travel on any Italian ship including the Costa line. Does not compare in any way to Celebrity or Royal Caribbean which we both did years before. Read Less

Grabbed this cruise first the balcony price was great and second for the opportunity to scuba dive in some warm waters, forget it about it! The strong cold front chased us all the way down to Belize, the only spot Millie and I got to get wet at, Grand Cayman and Roatan were weathered in. By the time we got to Cozumel both of us had congested heads. Must complain about the dive operation Cozumel they kept our deposit NEVER again will we make a deposit ahead of time without refund ability. Roatan without scuba diving gave us time to visit a nature refuge with sloths, monkeys ande parrots that climb all over you, really cool place to visit while at Port. Costa Maya we took our own tour for a 2 hour drive each way to some Mayan ruins that most do not get to with large faces chiseled in stone. I like dancing for some reason the disco did not open until 12:45 no way! The first day at sea we all were informed that there was no ice cream on this cruise, the screaming was unbearable and a mandatory headcount was ordered to make sure nobody had jumped overboard. Group of formal dancers took up some to rooms perhaps this is why disco was late? Read Less

I am eager to write this review in order to increase this cruise rating. After my mom paid for this cruise, she did a bit of research about Costa Victoria. Mostly was awful, so we almost cancelled our cruise and let the money go instead of wasting our time. But it is our last trip with my brother before he went overseas, so we decided to go. And seriously, this is my first cruise and it is AWESOME! well, for me the ship was huge (although they said it's a small ship). Food was FREE (even for semi fine dining version), unlimited and great (especially for indian food), but you have to pay for other premium drinks. the timing was PERFECT (23 Dec at 22.00 until 27 Dec 14.00). I respect all of the crew members that give their best effort to serves us day and night with their best smile to ensure our best experience on cruise (THANK YOU!). The cabin design is old fashioned, but CLEAN, they clean our cabin twice a day. Endless parties and event for sure. Definitely WORTH IT for their value for money. To get this personal, I'm 22 yrs old and I came from Indonesia. Not really the best cruise for my age, but I totally recommend this cruise for FAMILY who had kids around 12 yrs old. Read Less

This cruise was chosen by Altius Insurance Cyprus (my husband work in this company) as a reward. It was my first cruise, but definitely I will do it again!!! The ship was so clean, nice odor, you could smell the cleaning odors everywhere. We had cabin 6109. The service was amazing. The man that was cleaning our cabin was so polite. The dining on the second deck was amazing. I was wondering how they could serve so tasty food to thousand people "a la carte". The waiters were amazing...so polite! What impressed me the most was the guy and the team in charge with the entertainment!! I remember his name! Louis...was everywhere...dancing...singing... presenting...amazing humor and energy! But what amazed me the most was the assistant bar manager: Pantelis Zoografos! What a personality! I am a marketer and maybe I evaluate different than other people but his eyes were everywhere, ready to offer his services, to say a joke or to say something nice! Make me wonder if this man was born for this job or maybe the job was invented for him!!! Read Less

I choose this cruise for the visit to Naples. I was disappointed with the food. too me the buffet was very blan and the dinners where not anything special. If the cooking was Italian at it´s best then I would query this. The organization was lacking on the cruise. The cabin was very reasonable. I thought that the decore of the Ship was very over powering and heavy making you feel very enclosed. The entertainment staff seamed to support firstly the Italians, the French ! I thought that the entertainment was very average. The tours were good. ONE WORD OF WARNING CHECK ALL THE AMOUNTS THAT WILL BE TAKEN FROM YOUR CREDIT CARD! Many mistakes were made with my account and I have not received a detailed invoice. Bcareful when booking tours and make sure that the correct ones are booked and charged I would thing again before I used Costa Cruises. Read Less

My mother and I (20-year-old daughter) were traveling for the first time on a cruise - but with that said we have been traveling around the world since I was born; which of course mean that we have seen and experienced quite a lot and therefore are a bit critical about our surroundings and vacations. We are VERY shocked to see so many critical and harsh reviews here on this site. Really, it is so unexpected. Well let’s start our review on this amazing vacation! Surroundings: From the second you step in at Costa Deliziosa you immediately get goosebumps. The atmosphere is incredible! Not only are you welcomed with the most smiling, accommodating (and well dressed) crew members, but also a multitude of delicious, beautiful, and luscious environment. Everything (and everyone) had this amazing attitude and charisma – and you would not be able to keep yourself from smiling and feeling exciting. From the first second, we sat food on Costa Deliziosa, we were so thrilled and loved it instantly! They have without a doubt thought about everything, to every single detail. Every deck has it own charm and impression. From the huge globe on the main deck (deck 2), the external elevators, to the carvings, the decorations and colors – everything is created to make their guests drop their jaws. Cabin: As a middleclass cabin, we could not expect more or less. It is very cozy and it is not a place you are ashamed to call your temporary home. There is everything you need and there is always very clean and nice – without any exception. The beds might not be the softest, but it is not a metal bed! Dinning: There is a lot of different opportunities to satisfy your hunger – also if you are picky as my mother and I. You can choose for yourself where you would like to eat, there is a lot of different restaurants. There is buffet where you have a huge variety of food in morning and at lunch (deck 9), and there is the classic restaurant style where the waiter will come to the table for requests. Even though there is some restaurants you have to pay for, (unless you have some special package), there is still a lot of variety of opportunities. At dinner there is not a very big variety at the buffet – but it should still be satisfying for the most. The food (especially breakfast) is of great quality, is very viand and there is a huge variety to satisfy your hunger no matter what kind of food you like. High praise to the absolutely delicious bread and their huge variety of desserts (changes every day). The only negative thing (yes, we still have to be critical at some points, right?) ice cream should be included in the dessert standers and you should not be paying for it. Pizza should also be included in the evening (not only at lunch). The variety at the buffet should be bigger at night. Entertainment: It is differently your own fault if you are bored aboard a cruise. Deliziosa offers a lot of different entertainment all day and all night. The animation team make sure that there are games, dance and sport all day and creates some funny activities at night for the different theme nights. If you would rather relax at the pool(s) or get some tan, there a plenty of opportunities for this as well. Deck 11 is the best place for tanning, it is not as crowded, there is a lot of space and it is also a bit cooler up there. It is very important to remember a lot of different night gowns and suits – of course if you want to blend it at the different themes, if not do not worry – you are still more than welcome. The themes at our cruise were: 70’s night, 80’s night, Gala, Caribbean night, Italian night, masquerade – just to name a few.) Again, it is really your own fault if you are bored. There is so many places to see and be on at cruise. Do yourself a favor and explore it all! There is many cafés, bars, shopping, fitness, spa, and discotheque. Every night there is also some performance in the theater with the best dancers and singers ever seen. They are incredible (and very beautiful/handsome – that should be enough to make you want to go!). Such a beautiful and creative scenery that chances every night. Simply amazing! Crew members: I just read a pretty nasty review from the same time as we were on the ship – saying the crew was unfriendly. It made me really angry. The person has to be very negative and not very outgoing. I think I had to reply to a greeting thousand of times a day! Everyone was so friendly, smiling and extremely kind. Everyone had a big heart and everyone wanted to speak with us. Many of them knew us by name after the first day. From the moment, you step onto the cruise, you are greeted with the sweetest, helpful and amusing crew. I would really like to thank them all, and it is very heart breaking that I cannot remember all of the names. All the gentlemen from the animation team were the sweetest and differently made our stay even greater and for sure unforgettable. They have to be highly praised for their humor, entertainment skills and the way they always made sure that everyone had a blast. Simply genius. My mother is really not a person that likes to dance, be on a stage or like to get involved in the entertainment – but they manage to do so! And she loved it. A huge, special thanks to the gentlemen of the animation team (especially Agusto and Michéle), our so sweet and lovely cabin steward Ade, all the waiters from deck 9 (especially my dear waiter with the glasses from the Philippines and the head waiter/manager, sorry dear we cannot remember your names), the photographers, Larisa and Alvaro. In general we would love to thank ALL OF THE COSTA DELIZIOSA CREW for making our vacation so unforgettable. Every one of you should get this high praise for being so accommodating and forthcoming. There is NOT A SINGLE bad thing to put on the crew members! You have become our second family and we miss you all (and everything) so badly – which is why we already have booked a new costa cruise! Another thing that strikes me in some of the reviews is that you should not book at this company if you do not speak Italian. My mother and I are from Denmark and does not speak a word Italian. We did just fine with our English. Everyone understood us perfectly and with that said everyone might have learned Italian (it is a Italian company, so why blame them?) the crew members came from all over the world: Germany, Spain, Italian, Brazil, Mauritius, Philippines, India, Peru, Indonesia, South Africa and much more! That is many different nationalities and ALL of them speak just fine English! Ports: Fort Lauderdale (& Quality Inn & suites) If you have some spare time before or after the cruise, there is differently a lot of things to see in Fort Lauderdale. Like the Everglades and there should be a lot of shopping as well (We did not had so much time to explore it all). Miami should be even greater to explore. We had one night at Quality Inn & Suites which is a fine hotel for a night or few. The breakfast is good (not as great as the Cruise’s but there is enough variety to satisfy your hunger). Very soft beds and clean rooms. It is very close to the Port Everglades and there is a free shuffle bus to the Cruise Terminal. It is recommended if you should have a night in Fort Lauderdale before boarding the cruise. Bahamas - Nassau, Dominicans republic - Amber Cove, Jamaica - Ocho Rios, Cayman Islands - George Town, Honduras - Roaten, Mexico - Cozumel/Playa del Carmen: There is not many activities on the different islands but browse around the excursions papers in your cabin and you will get to know what there is to see, but be aware the prices is pretty expensive, and you can do it cheaper yourself (still many money you have to spend, but again, it is cheaper to do it by yourself and the taxis and tour excursions is there as soon as you go ashore). We differently recommend swimming with stingrays and visit the Dunn River Falls (very beautiful scenery!). If you have not tried to swim with dolphins, it is differently a thing to do as well! My mother and I have tried it a few years back so we did not do it again, but many recommend it! They are really sweet animals! The islands have many beautiful scenery, nature and beaches – and if you want to do shopping that is not survivors do not bother to try on the islands you visit. There is really not much to come for. If you want to do some hardcore shopping, you should differently pay a visit at Playa Del Carmen, when you come to Cozumel. There is a like never-ending shopping street and it only takes 30 minutes from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen with boat and it is cheap. If you are traveling with some anti-shoppers, put them on the beach – it is simply amazing! And plenty of restaurants as well! We differently recommend Costa (and this route) to everyone! Keep going!
