First Time Cruiser

My husband and I have cruised many times before (on 5 different cruise lines) and wanted to introduce our friends to this type of vacation. It was the first time we had gone with Costa and we chose it based on price. We had read all the negative comments but went on the cruise with an open mind. The embarkation was probably the easiest we have ever experienced. The cruise card and credit card ...

Your vacation and cruise experience is ultimately what you choose to make it and is dependent on your initial expectations. When considering booking with Costa, I read many reviews of this particular ship and itinerary. Many were less than flattering so I couldn't help but wonder what the expectations of those travelers were and what our experience would be. No matter what, there are going to be ...

For starters we have cruised on: In order of our favorites:) Princess Royal Norweigin Costa - this cruise Carnival Overall for the price, the cruise was great. I'm pretty easy going with food so I liked most of the food that had some European flare. I think most Americans would enjoy the food as well. Pros Price 4 ports was awesome, even though it left a little early at some ports. Pasta was ...

This was our first cruise (wife, daughter and I). We were a little apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews but found the ship, crew etc. to be wonderful. The ship is beautiful, always clean and well appointed. We arrived four hours before sailing and were through the entire boarding and check in process without stopping for more than two minutes at a time (well organized). Our ...

I have many friends and family that have cruised a number of times. None had ever used Costa. I have definitely been disappointed on my first cruise. The food was mediocre, the entertainment ok, the cruise staff for the most part, not very friendly. Costa is definitely the cruiseline if you are European, but if you are English speaking, don't bother. They pay very little attention to the ENglish ...

I had four cabins booked on this Western Caribbean cruise, including our own stateroom. My sister shared the balcony cabin with my husband & myself. We checked in shortly after 1 pm. Embarkation was extremely smooth, probably the most efficient that we have ever experienced. We went directly to our cabin which was far forward on the starboard side. The stateroom was very comfortable and the ...

Food was always the same, except the restaurants food, boring shows, air condition in the public rooms the cold, specially in the restaurant we need a warm jacket to eat there. The worst thing are the time on the islands, always to short, costa arrives later and departs earlier than the royal caribbean, may be they save port taxes. Caymans: not enough tender boats, so you waste time by waiting. ...

We are frequent cruisers and had sailed on the Costa Riviera many years ago. That was probably one of the best cruises I had ever taken. Due to my wifes job we were unable to take Costa, during the times it was in the Caribbean, and when this opportunity came up we jumped on it. What a mistake. First of all I have to hit the "High" parts. Boarding was fast and efficient we had our cabin and ...

Just got off a Western Caribbean itinerary on the Costa Fortuna. I love cruising with my family and have been to Alaska on Carnival, Western Caribbean with Disney and Costa and Eastern Caribbean with Century and Carnival in the past 18 months. The other cruises were awesome and had food, staff and entertainment that exceeded my expectations. Not so on the Fortuna. The staff were generally very ...

I was anxiously waiting for weeks to experience my first cruise trip and to be among my relatives traveling from different countries that I have not seen for years An inside cabin on the 7th floor of Costa Fortuna line was reserved to my roommate and me by our travel agency in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This cabin happened to be located directly beneath the swimming pool and poolside music ...
