Enjoyable cruise
"We did book a trip through Costa which was cancelled the night before due to a lack of other Brits on the ship (we only met one other British party) which was disappointing as we were looking forward to a guided tour of Genoa. One night we found ourselves sitting in the nightclub before it opened as it was the only place with seating available!..."Read More

Did a 3 night mini cruise and had an enjoyable time overall. We weren’t fans of the breakfast and lunch buffets; it was too much a canteen. We are used to P&O and Royal Caribbean where you are able to help yourself rather than queue for someone else to put everything on the plate for you. The queues for drinks were also huge so we never enjoyed a drink with lunch. Unfortunately we were put ...

Our 2nd Costa Cruise, but had its good and bad

We cruised with Costa for the first time in 2018, on the Diadema. It was excellent, so we booked again on the Fortuna. All in all, it was a good cruise, but I felt not as good an experience as the Diadema. The ship is smaller for a start, and I missed the numerous bars and extra expanse of the Diadema. I have never encountered such an ineffective customer service (and I mean the customer desk and e-mail customer service, the other staff at the ship was ok). We were 9 in our party and had an altogether good time at the ship based on our own company, the excellent dinners and the party-crew. On the bad side were: It was really cheap of costa to charge for water and coffee and tea were only free at ...

Just returned from Eastern Med Cruise from Venice. Two hours waiting in embarkation hall, then an unceremonious departure, despite leaving beautiful Venice. Our fellow passengers need a lesson in courtesy on board, i.e. allowing people out of the lift instead of charging in, and waiting patiently in queues. Smoking in non-smoking areas really annoying - couldn't go in Casino. All areas except ...

The cruise was selected due to our busy schedules and the itinerary contained destinations we have never seen. The price of the cruise was very reasonable. Embarkation was unique. No long lines to wait for paperwork and boarding card. This was a definite plus. Ship is beautiful. Lots to admire and easy to get around. Deck 5 gives you access across the entire length of the ship. ...
