Enjoyable cruise
"We did book a trip through Costa which was cancelled the night before due to a lack of other Brits on the ship (we only met one other British party) which was disappointing as we were looking forward to a guided tour of Genoa. One night we found ourselves sitting in the nightclub before it opened as it was the only place with seating available!..."Read More

Enjoyable cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Fortuna

Did a 3 night mini cruise and had an enjoyable time overall. We weren’t fans of the breakfast and lunch buffets; it was too much a canteen. We are used to P&O and Royal Caribbean where you are able to help yourself rather than queue for someone else to put everything on the plate for you. The queues for drinks were also huge so we never enjoyed a drink with lunch. Unfortunately we were put ...

Our 2nd Costa Cruise, but had its good and bad

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Fortuna

We cruised with Costa for the first time in 2018, on the Diadema. It was excellent, so we booked again on the Fortuna. All in all, it was a good cruise, but I felt not as good an experience as the Diadema. The ship is smaller for a start, and I missed the numerous bars and extra expanse of the Diadema. The staff were in the large part nice and friendly with a few exceptions. Those who ...

The Worst Customer Service Ever!

I have never encountered such an ineffective customer service (and I mean the customer desk and e-mail customer service, the other staff at the ship was ok). We were 9 in our party and had an altogether good time at the ship based on our own company, the excellent dinners and the party-crew. On the bad side were: It was really cheap of costa to charge for water and coffee and tea were only free at ...

This was our second cruise with Costa (did the Med in 2009) and apart from the food couldn't find a lot wrong with it then. Unfortunately, although the food has improved, they seem to have taken a backward step overall.Once again we flew into Milan (Malpensa) airport in order to get the Costa transfer coach to the ship. On this occasion we were met by two female Costa reps that were rude, ...

Costa dissapointment

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Fortuna

1.I realize that these large ships have a difficult time logistically in loading all the passengers, however it took a very long time and this was probably exacerbated by the fact they arrived at the terminal about two hours late. 2. Our cabin was not very clean, in fact my wife had to clean up the bathroom before we wanted to use it. Also there was a large black, greasy stain in the middle of ...

Costa Fortuna ship

I had high expectations with Costa cruise lines and was a little disappointed. Costa is a luxury cruise lines with the Europeans, not Americans. It doesn't compare to Celebrity or Royal Caribbean. The ship was VERY warm...all temperatures are strictly controlled so it was a bit uncomfortable. Dining area, lounges, and casino were all warm and nothing could be done. Smokey in most public areas. ...

COSTA CHAOS!

Just returned from Eastern Med Cruise from Venice. Two hours waiting in embarkation hall, then an unceremonious departure, despite leaving beautiful Venice. Our fellow passengers need a lesson in courtesy on board, i.e. allowing people out of the lift instead of charging in, and waiting patiently in queues. Smoking in non-smoking areas really annoying - couldn't go in Casino. All areas except ...

Please note that this review is for a cruise in the Mediterranean as I believe the experience in the Caribbean is different (as on MSC). For us the cruising is mainly about the ports of call. From the ship we want good food available at convenient times, a comfortable cabin, efficient organization and friendly staff. We do not use the gym, spa, pools or bars and the only on board ...

My wife and just returned from a cruise on the Costa Fortuna to the Greek Islands. Overall it was an enjoyable cruise. The ship is clean and our cabin was very nice. The stewards were excellent and pleasant. It was definitely worth the price. However ... Costa Fortuna could cost a fortuna. The excursions were so ridiculously overpriced that we skipped all of them on principle. We ...
