We've cruised several times in the past. Costa Fortuna is the most unorganized cruised we've ever experience. We completed all the required on their website (when the site is not crashing) and when we checked in, the information is not there. My husband also registered as a Costa Club member and this was not reflected either. Dinner seating - we requested first seating at the Michelangelo restaurant. We received confirmation that we did get this request. When we got to our cabin, we were booked for the second seating at the Rafaello restaurant. Tipping - we've asked to not automatically include the tip on our bill. We've always done this since we want to give the tip directly to the people serving us. This will ensure that the person will actually get the money. Customer service confirmed that they did this. At the end of the cruise, the charge was there. We had to line up at the day of disembarkation to get our bill corrected! Credit on our accounts - my husband and I both have a credit of $63.00 (fuel charge) each when we arrived. Because we only used my husband's Costa card during our stay, they don't want to apply my credit to the final bill. Result, my husband got the extra charges and Costa is suppose to send me a cheque for my $63.00 - how illogical is this? By the way, I still don't have the cheque. Tour Office - couldn't not even give us tips on which beach is the best in the port of calls. They are useless unless you book a trip with them. With other cruise ships, the tour office gives you tip or what to do, where to go if you are going on your own and what to avoid. For our Nassau stop, we booked a trip with them and 10 minutes later wanted to cancel it. Nope - they don't take cancellations! Shopping Tips - they recommend stores in each of the ports. The stores that they recommend are not necessarily the best price stores - but the stores who are willing to pay them fees for sending passengers over. Customer service staff - do not know the first thing about customer service. I'm not sure if it is a culture difference or what, but we found them very rude. When they make a mistake, they are so fast in pointing a finger to the person on staff who made a mistake instead of acting as one company and working on resolving the mistake for the passenger. Cruise Director - he needs new jokes. He was the cruise director when we sailed with Costa Atlantica 3 years ago and he is still using the same jokes! I will never recommend Costa Fortuna to anyone. After having an amazing time on the NCL Pride of Aloha in Hawaii three years ago, we wanted to take our "little ones" on a cruise. Currently living in Poland, we looked for a cruise leaving north of Italy so we could drive to it. I originally wanted to take a Royal Caribbean Cruise leaving from Venice, but was convinced by my travel agent that I'd have more "fun" on this one... I should have listened to my instincts. We booked a suite with a balcony for three of us and an inside state room for our two older daughters. The booking all went very well and we happily printed our luggage tickets that we received by email and headed off to our cruise. We are generally easy to please and this is my first "negative" review of a trip... ever. I am going to try to give as balanced a review of our time on board as I can. COSTA PACIFICA - A "BIG BUS", NOT REALLY A CRUISE SHIP This is a 3000 member ship, with "common areas" catering to far less. We felt that this ship is more made for people wanting to take a "tour" everyday and party all night, than for people wanting to enjoy a cruise on board. When "all members" are on board, the common areas are packed, there is not enough sitting space in buffet areas, service is slow, the gym was packed and the three ridiculously small pools - I cannot call them "swimming" pools - are crammed with people. We were more looking at a fun on-board experience than taking a tour bus. As this was a brand new ship, unfortunately we didn't have any reviews to read when we booked. So our advice is: if you are looking at taking excursions at every port, have "room service" for breakfast, don't use the pools or common areas much, and like slot machines, then you will probably love this cruise. If you are looking for a "fun" on-board experience with great service, this is not the ship. THE WHOLE BOARDING EXPERIENCE SUCKS AND "PRIORITY" CERTAINLY HAS A DIFFERENT MEANING ON COSTA Upon arrival at the parking lot we had to wait 30 mins in the car to unload our luggage because they only had one unloading area with a lot of cars coming in (there were two ships leaving on that day). We where given a ticket with a number and told to go to the "tent over there" (the main terminal was in use for the other ship). When we arrived, there where hundreds of people piled up waiting for their "number" to be called. Approx 50 people at a time had the same number and they all pounded on the entrance pushing each other like their life depended on it. There where no drinks offered, no welcoming staff, it was all very administrative and not very nice. They did however get everyone's picture taken... they do not miss any "sale" opportunity... Queue again for ID photos and security checks. Having booked a Suite, we had theoretically priority luggage delivery. Our luggage arrived 4 hours later... so much for Priority. On NCL, same size ship, flawless check-in, friendly staff, flowers and drinks handed out while you where waiting, no one pushing... very different feel to the start of the cruise. SUITE - VERY COMFORTABLE AND FRIENDLY HOTEL STAFF This was the highlight of our stay. The room staff (all Filipinos) where adorable and very present. When we needed anything, we got it fast and with a smile. Each time we came back to our room, it was spotless. Breakfast served in the room was always on time and we received what we had ordered. The beds were very comfortable. From this perspective, the service was impeccable. FOOD - RESTAURANT-OK - BUFFET-AVOID CROWDS - ROOM SERVICE-GOOD This is one of the "big bus" aspects of the ship. The buffet areas at peak times were really awful. Luckily for us, we weren't booked on excursions every day - and we had room service for breakfast - so we went "out of hours", but the only times we did, it was packed with pushy and rude passengers all trying to get to their food as fast as possible. We think this is due to the manner in which the buffets are laid out in a long line, instead of the modern layouts with different areas dedicated to different types of food. Then, there weren't enough seats and many tables were left with food on them as there wasn't enough staff to clear the tables at sufficient pace. There was no food variety: salads, pizza, pasta. The evening meals where very good in quality and the service by two Filipino waiters really friendly. They have a "kids" menu and gave pencils for the little ones to keep busy, which was useful because the service was a little slow most evenings, between 1:20 - 1:40... which is long with a 4 and 7 year old. Once again, nothing really innovative: standard classical European food (except for 2 Asian options across the whole week), pretty tasteless vegetarian food. Room service was impeccable. They have a good selection for breakfast and a "round the clock" service with a small menu. KIDS CLUB - GOOD AND FLEXIBLE Our children, 4, 7 and 12 attended the club. My 12 year old stayed the first day, but it was too "babyish" for her. The Teen club was intimidating because there where mainly older teens. A "Tween" program would have been a good thing. For the younger ones, it was a good service, with a different theme every day and dances, meals, games... They had a good time and the ladies where very dynamic and spoke Italian, English and French. The kids could attend daily from 9-12, 15-18 and 21-23:30 which allowed us some free time to practice some sport, go to the spa and in the evening play a little blackjack. The only day we took an excursion, the children could stay all day at the club, which was a real plus since they where too small for the excursion. SPA AND GYM - GOOD SERVICE, NICE AREA, A LITTLE PUSHY ON THE SALES We made extensive use of the gym and spa. We went out of the "crowded" times. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the treatments where of very good quality. The area was peaceful and relaxing. I know this is standard practice, but every treatment was linked with an attempt to sell products and other services. When I'm on holiday, I don't like to be "sold to" all the time. Cost was high - do expect a 1000 EUR bill for a spa pass and a couple of treatments for 2 adults. MUSIC - THE GOOD AND THE ANNOYING - GOOD RECORDING STUDIO It's "the ship of music" and most of the music played on board was not my style, but to be fair to Costa, it is a huge bet to achieve something that will please the majority. On the other hand, if you can't stand the "um-pah-pah German and Italian folk music, just don't board this ship. There where several styles of music and we really enjoyed the chocolate bar guitarist who was the best musician in our taste. All the bars had live musicians and in general the quality of their playing was good, but none were excellent. The only really annoying part was the same single track being played over and over again in the deck corridor, and the ever-present Italian folk songs. My daughter tried out the music studio and it was a great experience for her. The engineer was really nice and helpful and the resulted recording was very flattering :) If you like to sing, I would recommend you try this for fun. A "GREEN" SHIP - MAYBE... BUT... Another argument that made me tend towards Costa was their information about being the first "green" cruise company. Some of it is not visible to passengers (water heating, recycling, etc...) and they do have "recycling" stations all over the ship with plastic, paper, metal and "all the rest". Once a week, they have a WWF day in the kids club. They did announce at the beginning not to throw anything over bord too. But they could be doing so much more. Lighting is still mainly non economical, all soft drinks are served in cans (when has that been an ecological mean of packaging?), there is not a trace of organic food on board, they print over 100'000 pages each week (very ecological, isn't it?) and joke about having to change the printers every 4 months... and even though I never threw a towel on the floor and hung it back every time, when I came back to my room, it had been replaced by a new/clean one... theory is one thing... practice is another. FUN STUFF What we did enjoy on board was the Casino, since most Europeans don't gamble, it was easy to find a place to sit and play and we met some nice people there. The F1 racing simulator and the Recording Studio are fun. The slide was a big hit with the little ones too. VIBRATING AND WOBBLING SHIP We are not experienced cruisers, but it seemed that the boat vibrated much more that the NCL ship, even though the sea was a lot calmer. Every wave that hit the bow could be felt quite strongly in our cabin. Each maneuver in the ports, especially slowing down and turning, resulted in severe shakes and very loud noises. We also felt that the ship was quite "wobbly" and didn't feel very "solid". I want to stress that the sea was super calm all week and this is why we were very surprised by these behaviors and did not find it very reassuring. DISEMBARKATION - RUDE AND UNHELPFUL ITALIAN STAFF The last night we received a letter in our cabin telling us we had priority disembarkation and had to go to the restaurant at 8:30. No mention was made about where to leave the luggage in that letter, or in any of the written communications we got (including the cabin guide). Having with us a professional-grade guitar, two laptops, professional photography material in addition to all our luggage (value of over 20K$), we left our luggage in the cabin. We waited 30 mins in the restaurant for our names to be called and after disembarking waited for another 40 minutes outside. Our luggage didn't arrive. The ladies on the parking lot couldn't care less and were rather rude, complaining about us in Italian (expecting us not to understand...). Only when my husband got upset with them, they called in and told me to find Lara in the luggage area. When I found Lara, I explained the case and she said "it's your fault, you shouldn't leave the luggage in the cabin". I tried to explain why we had and asked her to call in the ship to arrange pick-up but she said that since we had "messed up" I had to go back on board and fetch my luggage myself. She was extremely rude and not helpful at all. Back on board, the lady at the front desk was lovely and our luggage was delivered to our car within 10 minutes flat. Unfortunately, this left us with a really unpleasant memory to finish this experience that was already mitigated. ALL IN ALL We wanted a relaxing holiday with time to ourselves and time with the kids. We left relaxed - but not as much as we could have been. The kids had a good time and we ate well, but we didn't have any sparkles in our eyes. We also felt that the staff wasn't really happy on board, that Costa tries to get a cent wherever it can and that customer service and environmental protection are more of a sales pitch than a worldly reality. All in all, it wasn't a bad cruise, but it wasn't a very good one either. We will certainly not cruise Costa again. Read Less

I appreciate the reviews on Cruise Critic and let them guide my decisions for a new cruise booking. The Costa Fortuna cruise on January 10th was more than disappointing. It was extremely uncomfortable for passengers. I did not get Air in my cabin for 2-days (on level one) and it took 4 attempts to get it corrected and then very little air was forthcoming for the rest of the cruise. After many passengers complained with the same issue they disclosed that there were generator issues. If you are at the front of the ship on levels 1 and 2 you will hear the crew announcements on the hour starting at 4 am in the morning. Customer Service was non-existent at the front desk, tour desk and on-shore staff. The Virgin islands visited on this cruise were fine. The food was OK, but was not as good as the Costa Atlantica. I am a big believer that it is the Cruise line and the ship that makes the cruise a good experience and recommend Holland America, Princess and NCL over Costa for service and overall experience. I hope that this message will steer you away from Costa Fortuna to any other line/ship. To make the point, when I asked not to pay the daily service charge, they didn't even question me, just credited my account. So much for service. Read Less

Here's a few of comments on our experience on the Costa Magica: We had a balcony cabin in the middle of the ship right off the elevator. Amazingly enough it wasn't noisy despite the high traffic area. The cabin was larger and more spacious than we had on both NCL and Princess. As stated by others who have been on the Magica, it took the whole cruise to figure out how to navigate the ship. I highly recommend that you get yourself one of the larger maps of the ship that the information desk and learn how to find your way around. One of the cruise critic members posted a very good explanation on how the cabins were numbered and the decks broken up. The most important lesson he gave was to look at the picture of the ship located at each elevator. It will indicate where you are and what direction the ship is pointed. When you get off the elevator look to see which direction you need to go so you won't get too frustrated trying to find your way to dinner. The Magica had two seatings for dinner. We chose the first seating and found our table mates extremely pleasant. We were all English speaking and enjoyed each other's company. In fact, the evening meal was the best part of the day with these folks. The other valuable thing I learned on cruise critic was about the 1X package for beer, wine, and water. We called our agent who called Costa and got the package for us. It saved us lots of money on drinks. This package allows you beer or wine by the glass and bottled water at lunch and dinner only. We tipped our waiter at the beginning and during the cruise and he kept our glasses filled. He also poured some for our dinner partners at our request. So each night at dinner we went through one or two bottles of wine and several of water. Big savings there. The breakfast buffet was not as expansive as is on NCL or Princess but it was adequate. We did not take advantage of the buffet for lunch so I am unable to comment. Dinner most nights was good but not outstanding. We did have one evening when they served lamb chops that everyone asked for seconds. We liked the pasta and the bread was great. If you wanted something in between meals you had to find the grill which was located at the very back of the ship where the indoor pool is. It was not like NCL where you could find food at all hours. One of the reasons that you don't see many obese Europeans, the portions were normal sized instead of supersized. I was happy about that. The coffee was only fair however you could buy cappuncino's and lattes that were pretty good. We got our "coffee fix" at the various ports where the espressos were great. The staff worked seven days a week, and usually stayed on the ship for several months. They all spoke excellent English. In addition there was an English speaking "host" by the name of Sean who was available at certain hours if you had questions. He wasn't very helpful with finding out about doing the ports on your own. He said that his job was to support the excursion so he was unwilling to give info on how to get around on public transportation.I surprized and disappointed since I found that the cruise director on NCL to be more than happy to tell you about what cheaper options available once on shore. Embarking and disembarking was the easiest of all. They had everything ready when you got there so all you had to do was go through screening and show you E tickets. Once you got to your room you found your room keys and info on setting up your credit card as well as the daily itinerary in English. They also provided a daily synopsis of the world news in the form of a little newspaper that was created on board. Read Less

Cruise Line: Costa Cruises Ship: Costa Pacifica Sailing date: April 27th, 2011 Itinerary: 12-day Holy Land, later changed to Turkey & Greece After making a comfortable one-hour transfer by train (independent), from Milan we arrived at the port of Savona. Embarkation was easy and organized. My accommodations (outside cat. E1 - Notturno deck) had soft colors, beautiful wood cabinetry, a desk with mirror, mini-bar, personal safe, TV set and was clean and comfortable. The closets were ample and the cabin had huge sofa for four persons. The soundproofing is excellent. The room service is limited but worked well. TV options were mediocre. The cabin steward Aldian, from Malaysia was very good, keeping cabin clean and made up. The New York, New York Restaurant is used at lunch and two Dinner seatings; decorated with extremely bad taste in purple, dark red and brown, chandeliers with burnt lamps and very few windows. The food came in tiny portions but was really good and well presented. As a cruise line economy measure our good waiter had to attend 22 persons and the service was very slow until I made a complaint to the maitre D and we got another waiter assistant to help and to put the service in good shape. The Buffet La Paloma used for breakfast and alternative lunch is very informal, the food was acceptable. The Pizza served in this buffet in the evening is the worst I have ever tried in ships. No Midnight Buffets. The officials ignored the passengers, not even greeting us when passing by. The Captain was only seen on the first and last day and did not make any traditional noon announcement during the entire cruise The dress code was very casual and few men wore jack & tie in some occasions. Entertainment was very good with nice music and shows. The boutiques have good service and selections and the photo-shop is very good. Shore excursions were expensive and limited so I took independent tours in all ports. This ship has been very well maintained but has a horrible and very tacky decor, plenty of purple, dark red and brown and very dark in some areas. The casino is unbelievably decorated with "arts" showing panties and brassieres. Ports of Call: Katakolon, Limassol, Marmaris, Izmir, Pireus, Civitavecchia Katakolon The small village is very nice and the gateway to Olympia Limassol The city does not have any touristic interest, the ruins of Paphos outside Limassol is a place to go. Rhodes The best port of this cruise; this island is full of history and historical buildings. Izmir An uninteresting port city, gateway to Ephesus and house of Virgin Mary Pireus The ship stayed in port only for six hours due to a four hour strike in the subway and we did not have time to go to Athens. Interestingly, MSC Musica was also there and stayed in the port for the whole day allowing the passenger to go to Athens and other interesting places. Civitavecchia We stayed in this interesting city as we have been in Rome before. Conclusion We bought an expensive Holy Land cruise but received a cheaper Turkey and Greece instead. Egypt and Israel ports were canceled and Costa did not give us any compensation, option to cancel, a voucher or even a chance to change for other cruise. The ship dEcor is really horrible, call this Italian is an offence to a nation that has so many talented designers. The cruise quality in many aspects was very low, the worst in all Costa Cruises I have been. Next time I want to go Italian style I will choose a MSC ship, Costa never more. Read Less

After reading the majority of the reviews on this site, I was extremely concerned about what we were getting into. I really don't understand all the negative comments. From start to finish everything was flawless, no issues with either embarkation or debarkation. We arrived early to the ship to check-in so were in one of the first groups to check-in and get on the ship. Debarkation was also not a problem with about a 1 hour wait after having breakfast. The room was adequate with enough space to store our luggage and for us to move around. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The one odd thing is that irons are not allowed so you'd have to send out if you wanted your clothes pressed. There is only a generic bath gel in the cabin so bring you're own shampoo and conditioner if your particular. There is a mini-bar in cabin with enough room to store a few items. To ensure the best experience, be sure to sign up for one of the drink packages. J2 is the most expensive, running about $50 US per person, per day, however, this allowed us to order at will any drink up to $7 and not be concerned about racking up a big bar bill. This also then allows you to order from room service and have it delivered in cabin. Definitely spend the extra money for the balcony, it's worth it for the extra space. All of the staff was were super friendly and helpful. We had a chance to visit with both the wait staff in the dining room for dinner, as well as bar and casino staff. They were all amazing! All public areas were well kept and refreshing. Even the day at sea, when we strolled out mid-day we were able to find lounge chairs together. Meals in the dining rooms offered an excellent choice of options. The one area that could possibly use some improvement was the buffet if you decline to make your dinner time, as it was pretty much just pizza and salad the one day we chose this. Another upside is that this cruise is very much European travelers, so you have the international cultures to mix with. Options to get to from airport if you haven't signed up for the transportation with Costa you can also take a cab for the same price. If you want a cheaper option, select the ATVO which is bus transportation that runs non-stop into Piazzale Roma about 4 euros, and then take the People Mover 1 euro from there to the cruise terminal. First the very bad: All our 3 excursions were cancelled. With very short notice. (No other English-speaking had booked.) As we are much more interested in the ports, than for example night shows and sunbeds, this made us very disappointed. Second, bad things of minor importance: 1. Breakfast- and lunch buffet were very crowded. After some days we find places to slip away from the most busy places. 2. Few of our fellow passengers understood English. 3. Coal flakes from the chimney were falling down on our stern-balcony. Now to the positive (including surprises): 1. Everything in our cabin was of very good quality and function. 2. The English speaking staff saved us from being totally isolated. And they were overall fantastic, both competent and friendly. 3. Food was very good. Both well cooked and high quality ingredients. (my mother was cook to the former Swedish king.) 4. The pool-area on the ship was very attractive, with its levels. 4. The "drink-package" was a very good bargain. Something like 20€/day for everything to drink. (Except the most expensive wines/drinks.) Naturally I compare this Costa-cruise, to the two on similiar ships I've made recent years. One was with Royal Caribbian (RCCL), Splendour of the Seas, the other was with Holland America (HAL.) MS Eurodam. And as I see it, all three give you, all in all, similar quality. Costa is cheaper, but have a more crowded ship. HAL offers more exclusive meals. My conclusion is that you get what you pay for. In future, I can choose any of them. When money is no problem, I prefer HAL. But if I want a wonderful ship, I choose the old Splendour of the Seas. Read Less

We sailed from Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Hong Kong. We travelled with 4 adults and 1 child. Our cruise was 3 sailings in 1 for us so three times people got off and on. I am one that looked at the reviews and thought oh it cannot be that bad. Many issues that have been reported are now fixed. Embarking in Singapore, excursions, Visas, passports and shuttles. All justified and not a problem. The bad review is due to numerous things that took place. Day 1. We were awakened at 3:30am the first night as something fell down from the upper bunk from my daughter's bed. We turned on lights to hand her back her bear when I looked over to my pillow I noticed a bug round and flat. I flicked it off the bed thinking nothing off it as I was tired and then I realized OMG that's a bed bug. I threw back the duvet to find 6 more in plain sight. I got dressed and ran down to reception. They had a manager come confirm the issue and supplied us a new cabin and asked that we follow up in the morning about new cabin. So at 4am we moved our belongings without assistance and moving our young child from bed to a cabin down the hall. The manager on duty insisted we see the dr. on board and when she told me the expense I stated we had to bites and we would be fine as it would have been over $400 for this first. It took us nearly 1 hour to get moved and no person was in sight. Day 2. We woke up had breakfast and then went to reception to find out what was to happen next. Might I add that there is usually 1 person at this desk at all times and minimum 30 min wait on any occasion due to translation issues. At this time we were told our original cabin was being fumigated and the temporary cabin was vacant the rest of cruise and awaiting manager approval to move permanently. The new room toilet broke every time we used it and cabin smelt of sewage. The maintenance came 3 times that day to fix it and in the end we ended up using the toilet in old cabin as it was not working. The AC is another issue it did not work at all. Something about a clogged vent and while in a climate of 90 degrees plus left us no other option but to sleep nearly unclothed. So the conditions of the temp cabin were just as bad as old. Day 3. This day we went on our excursion to return to room with a note to see reception. Another 45 minutes waiting in line and 30 minutes to reach a resolution. They were moving us back to original cabin due to it being ALL CLEAR. I through a fit and the reception didn't even blink an eye. She said they sold the cabin we are in for new leg of trip and stated the bugs were gone and won't come back. So instead of sit down dinner we placed our daughter in kids club and moved yet again. Since they wanted us moved before stewards came on shift. Oh I forgot that it was my holiday for a second not to put anyone else out. Seriously. So we moved back to the original cabin. Day 4. This day our Costa cards froze due to being swapped around so much so no drinks for us today. Took another 45 minutes in line to sort that out. We had been in contact with our agent in the states and that evening we received a fruit bowl for all our troubles. I guess an apple, orange and mango will fix it right. Day 5. Came back from day in Singapore to have our steward tell us other rooms around us had bed bugs too now. 6 in total on the floor we were on. After numerous fumigations they were not dying. Well great I thought. So the evening comes and after dinner we settle in for the night. Watching movies in bed on the IPad until I felt something on my leg and I jumped out. Sure enough they were back and this time 3 fold. Steward was on duty and I called him in right away to look at them. He radioed manager on duty and I went down to reception. This time I was greeted by a manager MariaLuisa. She was genuine and concerned about everything. She ordered that our clothes be washed and our bags be fumigated. We were being upgraded from inside to outside cabin far away from our original cabin. She had 3 stewards assisting in moving our things and called once we moved to ensure we settled in. Everything was fine in cabin except the smoke smell that was so bad. This evening they offered to pay for the dr. visit if required. Day 6. We had a very early morning excursion and decided since we upgraded to premium we should order in breakfast. Well they showed up 30 minutes after time they were intended to and then demanded we pay for a service we already paid for. Stated our cabin was not listed on premium and that to hand over $21 for a late and cold breakfast. I asked her kindly to leave our cabin and speak with management or steward about breakfast as we were not having it. As we run down stairs with moments to spare as out excursions was literally leaving the ship my husband got us a coffee and croissant each. On arrival we find the tenants next to us are smoking in there room that is connected to ours and the smoke was coming through the cracks in the door. This was fixed by using tape around the door and spraying our room down with a perfume of some sort. 45 more minutes in line at customer service. Our steward provided us with fruit and prosecco for our troubles with breakfast as he was unaware either about premium. Day 7. Costa Cards frozen again and more time wasted fixing something that we should not have been. This day also entailed us calling our US bank to verify in front of manager that it was not a prepay debit we were using for cruise purchases. Day 8-12 were a combination of lost excursion tickets due to them swapping us numerous times. The desk had them for nearly 6 days before telling us our Vietnam tickets were placed in the temp cabin not occupied by someone else. This was done wrong even after we told excursion desk we moved a 3rd time. Excursion for Hong Kong was cancelled after booking 2 months in advance. They were charging service charge for my child even though their site specifically stated no service for under 14. A heated 9pm argument with desk about that left me bitter and upset with Costa even more. You take what's not yours and I have stayed in hostels cleaner than that of our cabin. They froze up our friends cards too from same bank and there room became infested with bed bugs during their linen change. Day 13. Last night on cruise and we were pulled in by management about our fees. We were told our agent had been on contact with the ship and we did not have to pay gratuities in the end due to all the trouble we incurred. So the people that helped us in room, restaurant and spa won't get a fee that is made for them due to issues that customer service caused. Does not seem fair at all in my opinion and we signed the paper we would pay them on our own and we did. In the end our cruise itinerary was amazing. My daughter loved the kids club apart from the fact that while we sailed over New Year's they were due to have a party for them and cancelled it due to lack of participation. In fact it was due to crew wanting to party it up as I spoke with other parents who looked forward to the event. Oh and as we went to bed early due to closing the kids club early we were awoken at 11:45pm by a Italian screaming over intercom counting down till midnight. Not just once but numerous times and over whole PA system. By the end of the cruise 9 rooms became infested and it's rather sad that sanitation is not better. They ruined a large percentage of clothes they washed as well as they were combined with what looked to be a dark blue towel in which ever thing turned blue. So for the last week I wore items that were discolored and I disappointed as the items were still new just for our first cruise. I wasted my time with my family waiting in lines for things that should not be an issue. I spent no kidding upwards of 7 hours dealing with the customer service staff to resolve issue after issue. The pool was closed on nearly both sea days and not a lot was offered on board to do during this time. So a lot of dead time was spent in the cabin. Read Less

Embarkation was at 1pm so gave us plenty of time to arrive at port. Flew in day of cruise on non-stop cruise from Montreal. We normally book way in advance of our cruise, but this time my husband came across a deal we could not pass by. 10 day cruise to the Caribbean starting in Miami with 1st stop Nassau, Bahamas followed by 5 other Caribbean ports. The Costa Mediterranea ship is in great shape for a ship that is almost 10 years old. I love all the Costa ships; we find them absolutely fabulously decorated from top to bottom. Their entertainment committee are always lots of fun to watch and participate with. We were in a huge balcony stateroom on deck 6 mid ship. Great location with absolutely no noise issues. Food was quite good except for the specialty restaurant food that we regrettably had. Costa does not have a famous cook representing their specialty restaurants so I would not recommend their food at all in this venue. The charge for 2 was $67.00 (service charge included). We also purchased the drink package at arrival. They do not charge extra while in port for the pkg. Cost was %25.00 per person per day. The price was absolutely the best we've ever had but I must say the house wine by the glass was also the worst we've ever had. White or red chardonnay was La Terre, which is most commonly known as "the terrible" which in fact it was. Water, soda & cappuccino or espresso coffees included. We would take this package again if only their house wine would be drinkable. Have only nice things to say about staff on board, from room steward to maitre"d as well as dining room steward & assistant. Even guest relations were very helpful. Had cruise previously on 5 other occasions with Costa & loved every single one of our cruises. Three times to Caribbean & twice to Europe. If you like to dance or just enjoy other dance, this is the cruise line for you. Costa has the best dance music at sea. Their musicians are fantastic!!! and so many dance floors to dance on; I have never seen on any other cruise line. Even beats Cunard's ship that claim they have the "Biggest dance floors at sea" Hope this review is helpful in any decision you are making towards cruising with Costa. Read Less

We were very disappointed in our cruise, the food was poor with no buffet option in the evening (closed at 3 or 4 pm daily only a salad bar and pizza in the evening). Food in the restaurant was bland, service slow, but no choice if you wanted more than a salad! Costa's strange and inconsiderate no smoking/smoking policy allowed people to smoke INSIDE the ship - in all the main bars and lounges - saying that there were no-smoking tables was ridiculous as people smoking in an enclosed area pollutes the entire room. On top of this the genuien (small) no smoking lounge and bar were out of bounds, taken over for Costa (to see future cruises, i.e. The Isolobella lounge) - or only sometimes available - the very small Isolobella bar. All the rest were open and adjoining smoking areas (the Cigar bar open to the non smoking Piano bar!) Even the card room, which we enjoyed during the day, was closed at night and turned into a photo studio. On deck, smokers could smoke anywhere on the left/port side of the ship - that was fine, but many 'strayed' so that sometimes (as the ship was fulll) it took a while to find a smoke free place. Staff on deck hard to find, no one bothering to remind people who were smoking in non smoking areas that it was 'not allowed'. Staff were generally quite apathetic, I made several complaints and suggestions (about noise in the corridors outside cabins in the early hours of the morning - no response). Earplugs helped. On the plus side the gym was good, the cabins were clean, the cabin staff excellent. We were lucky to have good weather so that we could sit outside and not be breathing in smoke. If you're a smoker, this is the cruise for you - all those years of having to sit outside to have a cigarette you can now enjoy one in almost any bar or lounge in the ship - if you're a non-smoker think twice! I only wish someone had told me about this policy before I booked! Read Less

the destination were very nice, however Costa is not one of my favorite cruise lines. As a previous cruiser I have taken cruises from different cruise line, and Costa is actually the one I like the least. I thought Carnival was bad but it doesn't compared to Costa, overall the food was not that great, they force you to go to the dinner at the restaurant which the food there weren't many variety. Being Italian I thought the pizza would be tasty, but it was just bread with bad tomato sauce. For Room Service you have to pay for it. also for the basketball court, ping pong, and miniature golf, basically all the facilities you have to pay. The entrainment was ok if you were Brazilian, the team were more tailor for Brazilians they were constantly speaking Portuguese, sometime they tried to speak in English but they were more shy to speak English. They also were not so interested in other guess that didn't speak Portuguese, this was disappointed. the dancing team were nice, cheerful. The cabin steward was nice, he was very friendly. The style of the cruise wasn't my cup of tea, I thought it was ugly. the Gym was full all the time! I didn't like the many language announcement, I thought it was a bit irritated. I am not sure if is true but I don't think costa leave you if you are not on time. they keep your passport, I didn't dare to try but if this is the case then it will be bad! Read Less

We are not normally difficult to please. We have taken eight cruises between my sister and I and have never been so disappointed as with this Costa Cruise. If I ever hear the phrase "impossibla" or "madam it is not possible" again I will scream! When you take a cruise you have to accept that you are a captive audience and all that goes with that. However, Costa take this to an entirely different level. The staff are trained in the a way which seems to be that the customer is never right and expects too much! By the end of our seven day cruise we had a list of three A4 sheets of complaints (we don't normally do this!). A few examples - The lifeboat drill was a farce - we asked a number of crew for directions and were sent the wrong way three times before finding the English speaking presentation - this did not fill us with confidence from the first day!! We politely asked the deck crew to get out some sunbeds on an upper deck - they were very reluctant, saying that they could only get them out on one deck (not where we had found a sheltered spot!) We both drink a lot of water……despite being on the all inclusive package, water was restricted to a serving by the glass (small) and I could not get a glass of Prosecco (normally included at the bars) in the dining room as a dessert wine. Also huge queues for the buffet on returning from excursions, pools closed for no apparent reason, children in adult areas and poor excursions, where supposed English speaking guides could only repeat "is very important" for most of the landmarks! All of these are indicative of poor organisation and poor customer service. After complaining with Guest Services and speaking with the English Cruise Representative (who we felt were understanding of our issues), we decided not to pay the Service Charge as we had received very poor service. To cap it all, when we were disembarking we were shouted down by a tall overbearing Italian man (The Assistant Administrative Director – Daniele Gorini) who did not listen to anything we said but just insisted on speaking over us. He then proceeded to say that Trip Advisor and Cruise Critic were “Bull Shit.” Needless to say, we will not be taking a Costa Cruise again. We normally take NCL cruises, however, they did not have the specific dates we needed on this occasion. Next time we will take a different holiday rather than a Costa Cruise!!! Read Less

If you are English speaking from the United States, do not consider this cruise line unless you enjoy being treated as a second class citizen. The passengers were predominately from Italy, France, Germany and Spain with few English speaking guests. This was our tenth cruise and we will never, ever book with Costa again. Food was nowhere near as good as all the other cruises we've been on. At the buffet we had green molded roll, toast with ants crawling on it, and in the main restaurant, even was served sour milk which the waiter tried to tell us was just the cream. Cream doesn't curdle on top your coffee and tea! It was only after we insisted he take it away and bring up new cups and milk, that he did so. In the main restaurant, at no time did the waiter ever come over and inquire if everything was OK. Even after we told him we didn't care for an item, did he offer to replace it with something else. Any meat that required carving was over cooked and tough. Even on formal nights there was no steak or lobster served. In fact if you ordered anything with shrimp you were served those miniscule shrimp that can be purchased in a can. Forget lobster bisque, french onion soup, etc. - never on the menu, but you could have their version of watered down minestrone soup everyday. And forget any speciality desserts like bananas forester, baked Alaska, pie ala mode etc. Ice cream, gelato, sherbet and one cake is the offering each night. You can order a drink package which can be purchased in advance for $260 pp which is supposed to include water, soda , liquor, wine, coffee and teas which we did. What they don't tell you is it doesn't include a bottle of water or can of soda that you can take off the ship during excursions. Only a glass of water or soda is included. You can purchase a bottle of water for an additional $5 each. They then give you a limited menu of alcholic drinks that are included. You can have a Margarita, but a strawberry Margarita will be an additional $6.50. Room service is also supposed to be included. It only includes coffee and tea in the morning and were surprised when we ordered their miniature danish and was charged $15. The buffet area was very large and extensive. Other than the green molded roll, and ants on the toast it was quite good. Plenty of choices for everyone for breakfast and lunch. We never ate there in the evening. Maybe that would have been a bette choice than their main dining room. The ship itself was beautiful and kept immaculately clean. We left a small tip each day for the housekeeper even though tips are automatically charged to you room so we always had enough towels and found our room was one of the first to be cleaned. We had a veranda stateroom and it was quite roomy and more than adequate closet and drawer space. The water in the shower and bathroom sink did have a strange odor that I never found on any other the other cruises I was on. The ports we visited were very nice and most of them allowed enough time for an excursion, beach visit and shopping. This was my second Costa cruie, but it will be my last.   Read Less

Don't knock it till you try it. This is our second Costa cruise in two years. Our first one was the most fun we had and this one is not far behind. The ship is well maintained. The staff are friendly. Both the cabin steward and the dining room team were great, dinner takes one hour fifteen minutes almost everyday. Dining room food is hit or missed and portions are smaller than other cruise lines. The buffet was open for full dinner on the first three evenings only. The lunch buffet was great, lots of choices. The grill served steak fries and their chicken burger ie great. The pasta was not cook well, not aldente but just under cook most of the time. Dessert selection was poor. I am just pointing out some of the weakness in the food area, when the dish was done right it was very good. Costa need to get rid of those stupid water and ice dispensers that uses sensors. They do not work properly most of the time, it will drive you crazy. Offer more than just ice tea would be great. The entertainment was just ok this time but it was great on our previous Costa cruise. However, ballroom dancing is just as good as before. Best ballroom music and dancing at sea. The TV program is horrible so bring a book. The ship was super smooth, never felt any movement. COSTA offers a terrfic value, different food and experience. Go with an open mind, we will be back.   Read Less

Don't take it! We did it on her first week and we regret the money we spent. Yes, Diadema si new and big but don't expect services as on the other ships or cruise companies unless you are OK with spending thousands of dollars more for the paid services on board. Diadema is made that way is driving you to the paid services. For example, in the regular restaurant during diner, the food is coming very late, cold and most of the time with no taste. Also there is no buffet dinner on the entire ship. You have to go to the restaurant every night and if you don't like the cold and no taste food, your only choise not to go to bed empty stomach is to pay 25 euro per person plus drinks and eat at the paid restaurants and ONLY if you are lucky enough to get a table. We were NOT! People are litterally fighting for a cup of free coffe during lunch and some sweets and fruits! There are too many passangers and not so much help and stuff. The helpers are walking like ghosts on Diadema - they are too exhausted and they also look freightened by the supervisors who are yelling of them in front of the cruisers if something is not OK. If you are calling trhe Customer Service from your cabin or from any phone on the ship, you need to be very patient. You will hear music for 20-30 minutes until someone is picking up and than again 2-3 hours until someone appears at your door. Back to food, forget about eggs at breakfast. They don't serve eggs, ommlets or anything with eggs. The lines for breakfast and lunch at the buffet are the longest I ever seen on a cruise. Same with the lines made on each stopping port at embarkation. I am sorry to say all of this because we are Costa fans. We hope some of the problems will be repaired in time. There is one good thing about Diadema thou: the entertainment! Excelent singers and performers, great dancers, live bands, DJ's, excelent drinking bars, excelent entertainment team. Thumbs up for them because they saved our vacation. Read Less

We start our cruise from Dubai. I called before it and checked when embarkation starts to Costa hot line. They confirmed at 8 om so we stayed in our hotel and arrived 7.30 pa. No lines, very quickly registration and we got our cabin immediately. I was surprised as before with MSC or Royal Caribbean we had to wait for a while. Cabin not big but very comfortable and well organised. So we 2 adult and kid with 3 big languages felt of. I expected all bad from Costa as I read lots of negative reviews, and choose that cruise only of ports of call. And I was surprised in good way. Very good food at 11 deck restaurant. Very good bar service there. We went few times to 5 deck resturant but i was disappointed - too many time to wait dinner some days took near 3 hours. So we stopped to go there and visited only 11 floor. Food was same but more variety, better service and smiling su- chef Edgar always recommend what is better to try. Our kid is very bad in eating - there he ate all without any problem. Yes you can not have coffee or tea at lunch or dinner, but it's not very useful in the evening and was avaliable 4- 5 p. All staff was very friendly, smiling, saying hello and bye. Ready to help. Even busy managers played with my son and you feel like big friendly family all around. Quality of drinks very good, we ordered some cocktails sometime in the evening. We're served very quickly. Thank you Jose ))) I took cappuccino ever morning at pool bar - when it opened, and it was delicious - love illy. Thank you bar staff - still remember sun raise ))) I like animation team. Every morning - gymnastic, games, tournaments. We participated in most of activities and have great fun. Shows were good. Not the best I see, but not bad. Some of them are very nice. Even my son participate in one with muppets. Till today he is reminding that and laughing. Few times we went to disco and dance. But they were just few people there, so not too funny. Very clean everywhere. I made gymnastic very early and see how pool boys clean all. Same in the cabin, and all over the ship. Good music in bars. Only dancers from Grand bar were not very friendly, like doing hard boring job (only one minuse). And main- we have late flight in the evening and they let us stay!!!! Till 11.30 p.m. and that is great. As be very hard to stay so long in airport. And lots of people departure late. So main- I was ready for average cruise according review I read. But it was amazing. Friendly staff, good service, tasty food, fun animation team, not bad shows. Good music, bars and restaurant. It was amazing cruise, with very interesting ports of call. And I will try with Costa other cruises. Read Less

We chose this cruise because due to the location we knew it would be cool weather wise. This was correct..nice and cool.Itenerary was Stockholm/Helsinki/St Petersburg/Talinn/Stockholm.Absolutely loved all the ports except St Peterburg.Would not recommend going there. And if you do my advice is if your there 2 nights as were were only sign up for one day of excusions. Many people had booked both days and wished after the first they had not.You cant get a refund if you book both. Also avoid walking tours in St Petersburg...terribly crowded in summer and street level grim and dangerous w pick pocketing.Be prepared for all the tours in St P to be extremely crowded.Your main concern will be not losing your tour guide. On this cruise the best place to shop is Talinn pricewise. We were very pleased with the Luminosa.Service was great food was good.Biggest complaint which is significant is no free wifi. Its crazy paying extra for wifi and we didnt but our trip would have been easier if we could have. Also wish they would have been better about keeping kids out of the adult pool.Other wise we were happy with our cruise. I have traveled to many places all across the world, but this vacation was my absolute best yet! The Costa Diadema is a huge(really, really Huge) ship with things to do for people in every age. From going to the Daily show att 9.30 PM to playing bingo, there's something for everybody on this ship! The staff on the costa Diadema is well trained and always put you first. The service is outstanding. We ate dinner in the Fiorentino Restaurant and the food there was amazing! There is a new menu every day where you can choose four different courses. You have the same table and server every night which gives you a "luxurious" feeling. At all the ports you could chose from going on an excursion(which comes with an extra cost) or just take the shuttle bus to the city you where in. We went on several excursions and att all of them there was a professional tour Guide who told us about our different destinations. The cabin was spacious and very clean. You could choose from getting your room cleaned once or twice a day, and during the morning or the evening. Great experience and would love to go again. Read Less

The good points are cabin excellent and kept clean. Boarding was efficient and the terminal very clean. Most staff were hard working although if you're English speaking some didn't seem to understand unless basic requests at the table. Entertainment was good, especially the Tenor singer. Wasn't keen on the night the staff provided the entertainment, some were good others pretty mediocre, bit like BGT. The on board dance team were great, providing lessons as well. That we did enjoy. The bad points are: tips being compulsory and not being told upfront, probably in the small print which no-one reads, and not told on booking. Bottled water not included in the drink package, but tap water is ok. The food in the restaurant was poor. Some meals were just ok but mostly it was cold or tepid at best and I even suspect some was leftovers from the buffet, re invented. One particularly unappetising dish was the meat skewers. One piece of lamb or beef (couldn't tell), piece of a sausage and a piece of chicken, in bread crumbs and fried, served with a scoop of mash potato that was grey and lumpy. There was no sauce, so was very dry. We waited nearly half an hour for our starter one night also. Uninspiring desserts also, often something frozen. Better deserts in the buffet area. No gelato ice cream or pizza available unless you pay for it. I expected this at least on the menu as it's an Italian ship. They pick up and drop off at every port, meaning the muster drill is carried out every time and takes place in places where passengers are trying to enjoy themselves, like the Orlav Bar. We had to sit through it or move on. Lots of tannoy speeches in lots of languages, which one time interrupted the dancers who had to jog on the spot until it finished and then try to carry on. The quizzes were Italian based, e.g Italian cities and types of pasta, so unless you were Italian not much chance of winning. I know it's only fun but you like a chance at least. I used the spa and was given a dressing gown which I had to carry from there to my cabin each time, and if I didn't hand it in at the end of the cruise there would be a charge of 79 euros. Also for the pool towels left in our cabin. My husband used the gym, but one day loads of unsupervised children entered and just basically ran about and played on the gym equipment even though a sign said no-one under 16 allowed in there. There was potential for injury. The poor staff were continually pushing a lobster dish for a price, which became a bit tedious. We didn't do any of the shore excursions. So overall I would not choose Costa again. I have cruised with other lines so I do have something to compare it with. This was my 2nd Mediterranean cruise, the previous being with NCL which was a far superior experience. I could go on with more disappointment but I think enough said, I don't want it to become a novel. Read Less

So a group of 7 girls decided to go on a cruise for one of our friends 40th birthday, only 2/7 people has done a cruise before so it’s an amazing idea on something different to do. We boarded at Barcelona, everything went very smooth, the check in staff were helpful and informative, so sat at the bar waiting to be called. After looking at the info the check in desks give we head into our room, collect the cards and walk out. We then go to reception get a drink, go for an explore, then head to the top deck. That’s when it goes slightly downhill, no one knows what to do next, we didn’t know about the entertainment information or the timetable as we were so excited to go exploring we seemed to miss the little pigeonhole right next to the door, I finally understood on the last night. Not Costas fault but it’s not explained very well once onboard the ship. Also being a group on girls on a birthday weekend I think there was a few more drinks flowing than normal. At 6.30 there was a safety demonstration which lasted about 20 odd minutes, then off to dinner for 9.15pm, that was a definite eye opener so very busy, the waiter we had wasn’t at all friendly (although we later found out they can work up to 8 months and that’s without a day off), even I don’t think I could plaster a smile on my face everyday. While dining in the main buffet Michael Jackson started blaring on the loud speaker, then up out of no where all the waiters start jumping about dancing. That was amazing as it comes out of nowhere!! Food was good, although the menu can get confusing as the waiter never did explain that you can order anything and everything if you choose. We all dance the night away and that was a great first night. Next morning with a slight hangovers and an early morning wake up call as someone managed to get locked out of their room and went off with another friend in another cabin, we all shower and up we get for a buffet breakfast. I can see from the choice of breakfast that they do try to cater for different nationalities but the breakfast isn’t great to be honest. I try some pancakes and bacon and that’s it. The coffee also isn’t great as unlike the bars where they have a machine and a milk frother they don’t have in the buffet, so water or orange juice is the way forward, also they don’t have a toaster, and the bread is rock solid. You could kill a bird with it. Off we go to marseille, hmmm next time I won’t bother as there’s not overly a lot to do there, walked around, saw some buildings, forced an alcoholic drink down our neck and back on the boat. lunch at the buffer, again it wasn’t too great, rock hard bread again, some warm focaccia, pasta, and a big lump of beef with potatoes, not great if you’re a vegetarian (I’m not, but 2 of our friends are). Go to dinner at 9.15pm, this time the waiters dance to some latin songs, ver well done again. Then another repeat of the night before, more drinks and dance the night away). The 3rd morning head off to the buffet again, this time no pacncakes, I don’t eat eggs so not a lot to choose from, I grabbed 2 pieces of French bread with cinnamon and some pineapple, that will do. We get off at Savona, 1 MASSIVE tip, other than supermarkets everything else shuts at 1.30 and opens back up at 4.30, unfortunately we have to be back on the ship by 4.30 so we spent an hour walking in a group of 7, with different people trying to find a restaurant just so we can get a pizza, it didn’t go down too well but got there in the end. Back on the ship, more drinks, a lot more passengers so the bar on deck 9 was a complete nightmare, then off we go again. Down to shower, off to the 9.15pm dinner, waited until 10pm to ask the waiter what time will the dancing be on tonight, he tells us there won’t be any, shame, so we all thanked him, 3 went off to bed, 4 of us decided to pop off to the casino. Within half hour our 50€ was spent and off to the bar we go. A few more drinks down our necks an the conversation turned to the bar staff. When we took 5 minutes out of our busy lives to see the amount they work, the stuff they have to put up with, and the hours they work on a daily basis, I’m so grateful for my life. The amount of time they’re away from home, they don’t see their families for months and months at a time. While we go on holiday they’re there at our beck and call when we want a drink or service. So thank you Henry and Danny for that night. So last morning just before we go to Barcelona, we set our alarms to make the restaurant breakfast. I do wish I’d gone there before but to be there by 9 is a bit of a deal breaker, unfortunately again we had a not so friendly waiter and had to be called about 3 times before he would come over to serve, at least it was nice. Back to the room to get our stuff as we had to be out by 10. We decided to go back to deck 9, as we started off from there a few more Prosecco to finish up the holiday, and off we go to the shops, pay our bill at the desk and get ready to leave. As they bleep mine and my roommates cats and unfamiliar buzz goes off, we’re not allowed to leave but everyone else disembarked, so back off to the desk to sort the cards out. Cards done and out we go. The 2 of us are last to pick up our luggage go through everything and my friend realizes she’s had some money stolen from her case. Do not leave any money in your case. There’s signs around saying the same so I don’t know what was going through her mind at that time when she left the case outside the door the night before. You HAVE to leave your cases outside of the room the night before for them to collect it. They advise to leave the cases the night before by 12 midnight and no later than 1am, but I witnessed them not coming until 3.30 am. Do not leave anything valuable at all. There’s always people workers and non workers wandering the hallways so could have been anyone. I also had stuff taken but luckily not money. Anyway other than the little hiccup at the end it all went well. I also missed the last day lunch as I was too busy booking my next cruise onboard. This time as a family, so hopefully the next one will be a little less partying and a little less hangovers. On the last note, be aware that if you suffer from rocking on land, It’s been 48 hours and I still don’t feel great and I’m still rocking and swaying. Maybe I was a little hasty in booking the next one but I’m sure I’ll be over it then. Read Less

We had an amazing time during our stay on Costa Victoria mainly because of the nice friendly and helpful staff. We travelled with our 7 year old son who was treated like a Prince by all staff on the ship but mainly the animation team and kids club. Ferdy and Sara were exceptionally good with him, most of the staff is Italian nd most of the guests were French spraking but they all made my son included and welcomed. I was happy my son made so many friends even though he can only speak Polish and English, the language is not a barrier he loved his time in the kids club. The animation team work so hard, special thanks to Ralph who was the kindest person on the ship, Francesco the sports instructor and crazy Marco. The staff at the restaurant were incredible as well and made up for the bad food at times. Donna the waitress is so lovely and helpful always smiling. The exurcions are terribly expensive, it's much cheaper to get something on the land. WE MET SO MANY nice people on the ship and on the land and visited hidden gems and that's what we are grateful for. The food, drinks packages and service charges are things we want to quickly forget about ;) Thank you to the staff of Costa Vicortia who made our journey so special Read Less

Regardless of poor reviews that we read, we embarked on the Costa Deliziosa due to provided price discounts (~70%) for 2 x 10 consecutive days. And, the following is our personal opinion: 1. Food and its variety was very good in taste and the quality terms. Except: a) there was very poor choice of tropical & exotic fruits like Papaya (popular in Central America), Dragon, Pepino,.....etc. Kiwi were to hard and not well matured. b) often we encountered a shortage of water melons. c) often there was an annoying line-up for the food at pick hours d) service over the supper lasted too long (~ 2 hrs). e) free coffee was of poor quality 2.There was too many outdoor cigarette smoking places. The smoke from outside was entering main corridors through the door openings into the Buffet area making difficult to find a smoke-free place. Smoke was even evaporating on walking / jogging path on the top deck. Also, the walking path was blocked by people laying on chairs. Cigarette's smoke from the balcony was penetrating over the day and some night hrs inside of our balcony, hence we were very limited to have the benefits of balcony. Read Less
