A cheap, cheerful but interesting itinerary, spoiled by an unpleasant disembarkation and offhand customer service.
"By this time I was one of very few passengers still outside the terminal, complete with distinctive, bright yellow transfer tags and still no-one approached me, there was no-one with a sign, nothing.I like the ship, with its many open decks for watching and photographing wildlife but the Deck 3 (promenade) layout is frustrating, with only one exit door per side, meaning long walks to get outside, and no circular route around the entire ship - apart from that it's a lovely place to sit and watch the ocean...."Read More

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Costa Favolosa

I hadn't cruised with Costa before, but with 5 other lines. The itinerary (Spain to Brazil) interested me as a biologist and natural history photographer, and the price was very reasonable, probably because the relocation nature and the lack of port visits meant the ship was (according to the crew) about half empty. My double cabin, for one person and no single supplement, was outstanding value ...

Good but very disorganized and bad trips.

The events and the food inside the ship are good. But Costa seriously sins in the organization and contracting of services. For example, I booked through the site a laundry package ($ 29.90) and did not use the service. However, on the day of shipment my credit card was already charged without my having used the service. I looked for customer service and they said they could not extort the value ...

Hi, we are a couple in early 60s, physically fit and enjoy the port activities. It is about a year since I last cruised with Costa. We did it then because it was cheap and again chose this 4 day cruise , Savona/Barcelona/ Marseilles in November to complete a cheap winter break. The cruise was a surprise, some things radically improved, some things excellent and many important things so bad it ...

I had in the past considered an Easter cruise but was always late with the booking so when I saw a good offer on Costa web site, I decided to book. I continue to sail with Costa mainly because tends to have nice offers for solo cruisers and because the nice privileges of being a Costa Club member used to be tempting. Travelled to Savona by Genoa airport this time (my traditional route is via ...

I have used costa for the second time and once again i was not impressed at all with the service given. Here under are some favourable and unfavourable conditions. favourable: Depart from my own country in Malta, only 10 minutes away from home. Very well clean room. Settle the bill very quickly Costa card is given at imbarcation stage and thus you don't need to go to the reception ...

As a regular Costa traveller we are concerned with the latest changes in service, food, quality and choice. Since May many Costa ships are no longer serving or making available English breakfast food in the Buffet areas....no bacon, sausages, eggs of any descriptions , no omelettes they do have toasters which won't toast even after passing through 3 times. English Breakfast, German, American & ...

We went into this not knowing what to expect. Let me hit a few of the highlights from the experience. ****Pros**** Cabin service was exceptional. The room was cleaned twice daily and restocked with fresh towels. Cruise was punctual at arrival and departure at the ports. Embarkation and disembarkation were fluid. The crew was friendly and industrious. They were mostly immigrants on contracts ...
