Beautiful ship but the additional costs are exorbitant and leave a bad taste
"Everything was clean; and on the floor service staff was friendly and hardworking, we ended up feeling sorry for them because of the long hours they work with no days off.Restaurants and the food was relatively good and buffet offered a lot of options so no complaints there...."Read More

Beautiful ship but the additional costs are exorbitant and leave a bad taste

As a first time cruiser from South Africa, our family did the European cruise which was absolutely amazing from the ports we stopped at and being on the ship as a family. We enjoyed our time together although we were shocked at all the additional service fees charged from mandatory daily service fees (on top of an all inclusive package) as well as purchasing anything onboard e.g. a coke is ...

I’m not saying I regret taking this Costa Cruise. It was cheap and reviews indicated it wouldn’t have much in terms of amenities or decent food. It also had the smallest cruise room we’ve ever stayed in. All of that aside, the cruise cake with free drinks, good service, and a great international flair. Our 12 abs 14 year olds found enough to do, and we sailed for the ports anyway. It was ok. Would ...

We have done 5 cruises with Costa this was the worst.food was bland no water at table the waitress was the best thing about it.the cabin was very noisy as we were at the front asked to change but said ship was full so several days didn't get much sleep.cabin was kept clean but the cabin boy was not very helpful.days at sea were boring as not much entertainment put on.there were only 50 or so ...

We have not taken a cruise holiday for several years, with a few weeks notice, we booked a cruise with Costa. This was our first time with this line, however we have used Celebrity, Carnival and Princess Cruises in the past. We arrived by car to Barcelona port, upon arrival, was all a bit confusing on where to go, park, etc. One of Costa officials said, you can park in WTC, show your paperwork ...

We had a beautiful cabin- but with finger breaking hooks to open drawers. The ship is 2 years old- ample time for management to correct this simple-to-fix defect. The cuisine was bad, even by Costa standards. We had table 385 in the Gattopardo restaurant. Excellent waiter, a menu set out by its Chef which was sheer poetry. Only the food did not match it. Except for the standard tagliatelle ...

I have cruised on many different cruise lines since my first cruise back in 1996, including 5 star and budget ships. This is my first time on Costa although I have sailed on their sister company Carnival and many things about the management and layout of the ships is similar. Check in at Barcelona was very efficient as Costa pick up and drop off at all the ports on their itinerary so you ...

Drill prior to sailing was poorly demonstrated. Everyone stood around at their muster station which was on deck. For those passengers who have never sailed before, there was much confusion as to how to put their life jackets on, etc. The explanations in the event of an emergency were very poorly explained. We are talking from experience as to how it is done on other ships. Our waiters ...
