We are from the UK and after previous cruises on Princess Royal Carribean NCL Carnival we were worried about the sailing we had booked on the Costa Facinosa from previous reviews we had read we got a great deal for £399 each in an inside cabin for the South America Transatlantic cruise back to Europe . We had no need to worry at all the ship was one of the best we have sailed on she is pure elegance and the inside cabin was the largest we had stayed in and the bathroom was huge with a large shower .Plenty of storage space in both and the bed was so comfortable. The ship was spotless and the elegant quality of the furnishings and lighting truly amazed us. The crossing was so smooth and we had hot sunny weather most of the way. After reading previous reviews that no one spoke English this was a complete load of rubbish. All staff spoke English the daily update was printed in English and the Captain gave updates in English too. After reading reviews there was nothing to do during the day again a load of rubbish there was something to do from 10:00 to 18:00 every day. We joined in pool games quiz afternoons dance lessons art and craft lesson all with English speaking staff and there were many more activities to choose from. The food and quality was some of the best we had eaten on any ship the quality of the Italian hams cheeses bread pizza meats soups salads etc etc were of a really good standard. Every evening we had a different five course evening meal in the restaurant on Deck 3 and during Gala Nights the meal was also excellent.Lots of people did wear elegant outfits for the Gala Nights. We enjoyed the shows on an evening so much variety acrobats dancers opera singers magician illusionist and many more . We would highly recommend the ship and really enjoyed the South America Transatlantic crossing we had so much value for money and would not hesitate to book another cruise with Costa . Read Less

A wonderful holiday,on the most beautiful ship I have travelled on.Immaculate and spotlessly clean, art works and sculptures to admire, and clever design. Our cabin was an ordinary outside, but so spacious and well equiped, and great cabin steward. Dining in the buffets, very good ,lots of choices, restaurants excellent,to be born in mind the number of people includind crew,to be catered for,I really can't imagine the skill neccessary in the galleys. Entertainment crew were amazing, keeping up that energy all day and evening, crossing the equator, never to be forgotten, what fun.Impressive theatre, good variety of shows. As a group of 8 people,we did our own thing ashore, using taxis,we enjoyed Brazil,Buzious, the smallest, was the most interesting and attractive. All the crew were very polite and friendly, happy to chat, though of course we were aware this was an Italian ship, and most passengers were Italian,we were very well looked after, and provision made for British passengers. So take no notice of people who only take time to complain,a holiday is how you make it. Read Less

We have recently returned from a transatlantic Cruise on the Costa Fascinosa and completely disagree with the 2 previous reviews. What do people expect for approx £20 per night full board ( that is all it cost when taking off the air fares and transfers). We don't go on a cruise to sit in the cabin to watch television so the lack of English channels was not a problem, the staff on the ship were pleasant and helpful and it was also nice to meet so many nice people from other countries( I am ashamed to say the only people we heard moaning were British) OK the entertainment was not as good as on P&O, Fred Olsen or Thomsons but they are not catering soley for the British guests, there was a least 7 different nationalities so entertainment had to suit all tastes. They did several quizes every day in different languages. One of the best shows I have seen on any cruise line was the Brazilian Three Tenors. so come on you moaners if you don't like Italian food or Italians why pick an Italian cruise line.. Read Less

The only thing I will agree with about the previous 2 reviews is the 11 dollars per day service charge, it should be up to the individual to tip as they see fit, apart from that I think their reviews very unfair. The cruise itself taking ... Read More
The only thing I will agree with about the previous 2 reviews is the 11 dollars per day service charge, it should be up to the individual to tip as they see fit, apart from that I think their reviews very unfair. The cruise itself taking of the airfare and transfers worked out about 20 pppd full board and the use of the facilities of a beautiful ship. The staff were very polite and obliging and the food, there was a good choice and you never went hungry and it was warm food not piping hot. I do not go on a cruise to sit in my cabin and watch TV so the lack of English channels didn't bother me.We met some very nice people from various countries and if you took the trouble to communicate they were very nice, the only people we found moaning were the Brits. As for the entertainment they are catering for at least 7 nationalities therfore you can't expect it to be like Fred Olsen, Thompsons or P&O. Although I must say one of the best acts I have seen on any cruise was on this cruise The Three Brazilizn Tenors. I have been on 13 cruises and this was the best value for money I have had, so if you don't like Italian food or Italian people why book on an Italian ship! Read Less
