A Transatlantic cruise is a great way to escape the European winter and be away for Christmas. The seas are nearly always calm and after several crossings we have always enjoyed smaller passenger numbers. That means better service and less hustle and bustle.
Embarking and disembarking was never an issue and the staff are amazing
Dining was excellent and MDR Dinner was well presented with a ...
I have nothing but good stuff to say about the ship and its staff. The blue collar workers you meet in the hallways and at the restaurants? Exceptional. My cabin was kept spotless, the hallways I walked were always clean and neat. Even if someone on the staff didn't speak a word of English, they made it clear that they were happy to be there to assist you. Our group had people with mobility ...
Did a 3 night mini cruise and had an enjoyable time overall.
We weren’t fans of the breakfast and lunch buffets; it was too much a canteen. We are used to P&O and Royal Caribbean where you are able to help yourself rather than queue for someone else to put everything on the plate for you. The queues for drinks were also huge so we never enjoyed a drink with lunch.
Unfortunately we were put ...
I hadn't cruised with Costa before, but with 5 other lines. The itinerary (Spain to Brazil) interested me as a biologist and natural history photographer, and the price was very reasonable, probably because the relocation nature and the lack of port visits meant the ship was (according to the crew) about half empty. My double cabin, for one person and no single supplement, was outstanding value ...
7 complaints and 2 compliments:
COMPLAINTS:
1. Change of itinerary due to vis major. As on the 7. October 2023. the war between Gaza and Israel suddenly begun, Costa changed our itinerary and instead of docking in Ashdod (Israel), Alexandria (Egypt), and Limassol (Cyprus) the new itinerary included Istanbul and Izmir (Turkey) and Volos and Piraeus (Greece). The passengers were informed of ...
I am just now reading the reviews and ugh I have to say I agree with the bad ones. So... I was not going to write this review. I first contacted Costa via email with my post cruise concerns to see if they would address any of them and they did not, so hence the below. By the way, COSTA is a nightmare to reach. If you email them expect to wait a week at least for an answer. If you call them ...
This was my second cruise with Costa. First one was with Smeralda . Check-in and access of the cabin worked well. Deck 2 insides. The journey from Copenhagen Danmark to Tarragona Spain went perfectly.
The cabin was okey, interior grey but the bed was really good. The food is varied, the breakfast and lunch buffet is tasteless ,hot food is cold when you have found somewhere to sit. Restaurant ...
We are experienced cruisers, first, we worked for Celebrity Cruises for over 5,5 years, and then we took cruises with several American companies, and for the first time decided to go with the European cruise line. It was ok, but I wasn't impressed I should say. The feeling was that the whole ship was designed just to make money and not for the guests to enjoy the cruise.
The buffet area is so ...
After complaining several times at reception that the cabin assigned did not comply with the characteristics contracted as being 3 adults neither the space nor the type of beds was correct, apart from not corresponding to the photos which are provided by themselves, and in the event that I had seen that picture of cabin logically I would not have hired it. The response from reception was that the ...
I chose the crusie because MSC cancelled their cruise in similar dates. I thought that what matters the most is the ship.
Unfortunately I was very wrong. MSC quality in comparison to Costa is like Mercedes to Dacia.
Costa Toscana is a nice ship, new clean with many useful facilities. But all pros ends here.
Service is slow, food is awful ( I couldn't believe that no vegetables are ...
