We realised it was not a 5 star cruise but value for money. Heading shows 10 day Caribbean but this was a back to back cruise ending up in Venice.
They had a gratuities charge of US$12.50 per day and with 3 passengers in our group for 34 days worked out to be US$1,275 or AUS$1,653. I do not know of many people who will part with Aus$1,653 as a tip.
We always tip the waiter, waiters assistant ...
We took this cruise for two reasons: the great itinerary (initially 6 port stops in 6 days, although the last one in St. Maarten was cancelled after the Sept. hurricanes), and the fact that it was one of the only cruise ships departing from the Dominican Republic where we were spending 3 more weeks on this trip. All-in-all, we weren’t disappointed. We expected that the other passengers would be ...
Here is a review for those who are wondering about trying Costa. There are not many reviews on this site for Costa. For the reviews that do exist the type of traveler that wrote them is unclear. We have traveled to Europe a half dozen times and loved it. We are only fluent in English but are perfectly comfortable traveling in non English speaking parts of the world. This was our ninth cruise, most ...
I coincided myself a easy going passenger on the cruises we go on and there have been 26 with this our first Costa cruise but it will be our last. i don't know where to start so lets start at the beginning. They lost a piece of luggage of my, my cpac machine so the 10 day cruse went without much sleep for me and my husband. They front desk couldn't care less, I was bothering them every time I made ...
We originally choose this cruise because it was a 10 night cruise, was affordable $949 PP premium balcony and it went the route we did 15 cruises ago (2005) and we wanted to see the changes, if any in the various ports. The reviews we had read described the ship as 41/2 stars with many premium features. We agree with this assessment it is a very nice ship! That being said, there is very few nice ...
Don't waste your money; choose a different cruise line.
Poor service (except for our dining room waiter Benson who was great). Long lines for EVERYTHING...very disorganized. Very poor communication including Daily Newsletter. Time changes were confusing if not wrong.
Speaker system was a joke... good thing there was not an emergency. Bar service terrible. Extremely disappointed in ...
Have sailed Costa before. Romantica and Fortuna. Cruises were good ports were great. Ships were clean and comfortable.
However, 2/2/18 we sailed from Fort Lauderdale at 11 PM. The food was not very good, the entertainment was so-so, the ship was beautiful. our server (they don't call them waiters anymore) was excellent. Our cabin attendant was excellent. There were no amenities ...
We picked this cruise as a package leaving La Romana in the Dominican Republic a one week cruise and then a one week stay at the Be Live Canoa in La Romana. At almost every port new travellers boarding the ship, and every time a safety drill onboard even as late as10:30pm at night blasting in our rooms even us who already did our drill on the first day. Food menu is basically always the same day ...

The itinerary was good but book your own tours.
Housekeeping and serving staff work very hard on these ships.
Staff numbers, food, etc. seemed skimpy and we wondered if liabilities from Costa Concordia are having an impact or if this is how cruise lines are going. If so hope people speak up.
No cream for coffee. No ice cream, sorry, Gelato, but told it will be coming soon but you will ...
