Met Expectations
"Most of the highly critical reviews are unfair. Do your homework - this is an Italian line catering primarily to Europeans. If "foreigners" and hearing other languages upset you then stay home and go to Epcot..."Read More

World cruise hit by Corona virus

It's a lovely ship and service, cleanliness and food are just alright. You shouldn't complain. You may not like the food, but it is well cooked and in copious quantities. Unfortunately, we were hit several times by toxic paint fumes in our cabin, which were so powerful that we couldn't be there. Our steward Adi was just quite real and service minded. Our butler could learn a lot from ...

For people who are not used to paying for water in the 'free' restaurants, this is not for you. You can only get free water from the buffet restaurant. Tea and coffee only free flow in morning and tea time. They do have some packages for drinks, but it's only worth it if you're a fan of alcohol. Wifi on board is quite weak in the cabin but good in the lounge. Dining wise it'd say the ...

We booked this Far East Asia cruise six months ago after seeing it advertised in our local newspaper. It was included in a package with return flights to Singapore and was priced very reasonably. We always check reviews before making holiday bookings (cruises, hotels etc) but in this instance we didn't until after we had booked. After reading the many negative reviews about the Costa Fortuna we ...

So I just got home from my first Costa Cruise (Feb. 2020/SE Asia). There was SO much question about Costa going into it. We choose Costa because, quite frankly it was the ONLY ship that went to our desired destination at the exact time we could go. Otherwise, honestly, after reading reviews on Costa, I would have chosen any other line if offered by another line as my husband and I are Princess, ...

We were due to sail on the new flagship Costa Smeralda but as it's launch was delayed our booking was cancelled. Costa offered a deal on alternative itineraries and we chose a 15 night trip to the Far East on Fortuna. On reading the reviews after booking we wondered whether we had made a huge mistake. Happily for us we found the ship to be much better than we had expected from the reviews. ...

So I've read a lot of bad reviews about this ship and they are not true at all. I've cruised Costa before as well as Princess, Celebrity, NCL, RCI etc.. To start with it's worth saying that this is not an American cruise line, its quintessential European (Italian) and you get what you pay for! We paid for a suite for the same price of an ocean view on a similar Celebrity cruise itinerary of ...

I read alot of reviews and I have cruised every major line except Celebrity. This was my first time on a Costa ship which is geared towards Europeans however I am American. This review is based on an American sailing, not one in Europe or otherwise. I am not going to waste your time regarding ports of call. You can research those yourself. However I am giving an honest review based on a ...

Having read some of the previous reviews, we were a bit worried about taking this cruise. However, overall it warrants the four stars I have given it. The service throughout the ship was mostly very good, which was good as you cannot remove the service charge of 10 Euros per person a day on any Costa ship. The ship was in a pretty good condition, but it is starting to show a few signs of ...
