Never again on Costa

We gave this a 1 only because of the spacious and well-organized ocean view cabins. However we will never sail on Costa again. There were numerous problems from even before we sailed - *user-unfriendly website One example: the option for buying Internet package disappeared about 2 weeks before sailing - "yes, there's a problem. It's not working" forcing anyone who hadn't bought already to buy ...

Worst Cruise Experience: Terrible Service and Major Hygiene Issues

Our family and friends has been looking forward to this cruise for a long time, it was our first time on Costa Fortuna (we've been on several other cruises before). We are so disappointed and frankly, upset about the way they treated us throughout the trip. The worst part is, there were BED BUGS (as several of our group was bitten) and many of us was diagnosed with allergic reaction to these bites ...

Beyond our expectations

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Costa Fortuna

Having read previous reviews of the Costa Fortuna and the Norwegian fjords cruise we had doubts and low expectations of the ship and the itinerary. However, we were very happy that everything was far beyond our expectations. We had previously been on a Carnival Line Caribbean cruise so we did not know what we would experience from an Italian line. However, we had a large and confortable cabin (2nd ...

We have not travelled on the Costa line for 3 years and the change was beyond belief. No carafe water was served in the dining room at any time. Bottled water was available, of course, at a cost and including a service charge. Tea and coffee were available at breakfast, but not at lunch or dinner, unless one was prepared to pay for specialist drinks. The buffet closed at 5 p.m. for everything ...

This was not my family’s first time on a cruise liner, however Costa surpassed our expectations. Our trip immediately started on a good note. Even though we were quite skeptical for the embarkation procedure I have to say it was flawless. The staff was very helpful and midday sharp we boarded the ship, an hour before planned. As soon as we boarded the ship we were instructed that lunch was ...

We recently took a cruise on the Costa Fortuna in Eastern Europe. We chose the Costa cruise line simply because we had no other choices as we had specific dates we could travel in August. We departed from Copenhaugen and made port at Stockholm, Sweden, Tallin, Estonia, St. Petersburg, Russia, and Warnemunde, Germany. From Germany we returned to Copenhaugen. This was my family’s fourth cruise. We ...

As a frequent and enthusiastic Costa client I was extremely disappointed this time. What was meant to be a romantic getaway turned into a nightmare. Where do I begin.... Well for a start, I'd like to point put that the itinerary was excellent and has been my favourite so far. Visiting both the Baltic cities and the Fjords in a 2 week cruise the stopovers just get better and better, allowing one ...

Costa Fortuna Norway's cruise - First timers very mixed impressions

I took a cruise on the Costa Fortuna departing from Copenhagen. She is 10 years old and looks her age. The good things: Size of the cabin was very convenient. Lots of cabinets and a large bed which was very comfortable. Many shelves in the bathroom and safety measures not to fall or slip. The balcony we booked was small but with a table and two comfortable chairs and it was nice sitting ...

Realizing that everyone will have a different perspective this review is from a reasonably upscale couple from Canada who have been on several cruises. Here is what we feel is "the good, the bad and the ugly".The Good: Great service from all of the staff. Our room steward, room service, our dining servers, the bar staff, the tour desk and the front desk, were all terrific. They were always ...
