Just back from a med cruise. We had an excellent time well looked after by very helpful and friendly crew nothing was a problem for them.Food was excellent and varied although all meals had Italian theme. The shows were fantastic and repeated so you could have meal then see show or vice versa. The excursions were a bit pricey but makes life easy and hassle free in the short time you have ...

Our embarkation was in Guadeloupe which does not give you many options from Canada. But learning that it is a French island flights from Montreal are direct and worth going. Costa did not offer transfers from airport to ship but a taxi ride was 20. Euro and if you can share it's a good deal. I did not explore Guadeloupe as much as I wished, perhaps next time, the taxi ride from the airport ...

Fabulous Favolosa

Just returned from our mediteranean cruise ( November 2014) The Costa Favolosa lived up to our expectations with high standards of service and cleanliness. The buffet service for breakfast and lunch is busy, obviously, but the restaurant is spread over such a large area, with many stations for different food types, that if you found a table first and then went seperately for your choice of food, ...

This was our first ever cruise!! and It was SuperB!!! Our cabin was on Deck 8, very comfortable; bed and the shower was good & we also had a sofa. Loads of wardrobe space, not noisy.. and with Balcony. Near the lifts, all we had to do is go up 1 flight of stairs for breakfast and Lunch; & use the lift to go to the Restaurant on Deck 3 or other bars etc. on Deck 5. Room was kept very clean; Our ...

We travelled for 7 days starting on the 15 October. We chose the ship because of the itinerary, and the ports were all interesting. The ship seemed to be very crowded most of the time even though the weather was fine enough for the sundecks to be fully utilised. Beacuse the ship is basically Hop on Hop Off type of circular cruise passengers were joining and leaving at each of the 6 ports of call, ...

Our Fabulous Costa Cruise

Check in started at 1pm. Embarkation was quick here in Malta since there was a group of about a hundred staring their cruise. They don’t give you your cruise cards, but you find everything on the bed once you go to your cabin. No white glove attendants to show you to your cabin (as on MSC), you have to find it yourself. But they were already available when we boarded. Not too big, compared to the ...

Easter Holiday on the Costa Favolosa, a family holiday

We booked this cruise because the price during the easter holidays was very favourable. We had read the reviews online before going and were rather concerned about a few things. Overall we had a great time and would book with Costa again. Some of the things that people complained about were true. It is very much a a ship full of Italians, but then it is an Italian ship!! On the whole we didn't ...

Fantastic Favolosa

This review is long overdue as we travelled in October, but here goes anyway. Hope someone finds it useful. I travelled in October half term with my mother and two children aged 9 and 6. After a somewhat traumatic start (9 hours in Venice port, 7 of which spent standing in queues for food not knowing where we would sleep that night) we eventually boarded the ship at 1am - about 8 hours later ...

COSTA FAVOLOSA - BETTER THAN EXPECTED

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Favolosa

My wife and I travelled on the Costa Favalosa out of Venice on 23 September 2012 and visited Bari, Katakolon, Izmir, Istanbul and Dubrovnik. We had a standard inside cabin on Deck 7. We initially chose this cruise because it fitted in with other plans we had in Europe. Having had read some of the previous reviews, we were concerned we had made a grave mistake, particularly in relation to the ...

Favolosa was great for my family (2 parents+2 teenagers) - we expected fun and relaxed vacation, and that's exactly what we got. Last time we went west mediterranean by MSC Fantasia, and we expected elegant, peacefull, international ship. Instead, Favolosa is full of noisy Italians, filled up with dance, fun and entertainment for everybody. The decoration is pap, and we missed MSC, but in a few ...
