Costa Fortuna very disappointing

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Fortuna

Realizing that everyone will have a different perspective this review is from a reasonably upscale couple from Canada who have been on several cruises. Here is what we feel is "the good, the bad and the ugly".The Good: Great service from all of the staff. Our room steward, room service, our dining servers, the bar staff, the tour desk and the front desk, were all terrific. They were always ...

Costa Deliziosa - Fabulous from start to finish

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Deliziosa

First things first, getting on the ship - the embarkation process was very fast and trouble free. We boarded the ship at about 12noon, our cabin was ready and our luggage and cruise cards where already waiting for us. The ship was beautiful, it was kept very clean by a small army of dedicated crew who seemed to work non stop. Our cabin was spacious and very comfortable, and was kept spic ...

Costa Deliziosa - was it delicious?

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Costa Deliziosa

Just back from my first Costa (have done Cunard, Princess, HAL, RCCL, Carnival before). Deliziosa is a new ship and a such was in excellent condition. Embarcation at Copenhagen was painfully slow. They had only 2 desks, manned by ship's dancers who only had to check name on embarcation form you carried with your passport. No computer terminal or even a printed list to tick names. Still took them ...

Baltics on the Costa Mediterrania

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

My wife and I decided to cruise on Costa for the first time for our Baltics cruise. The Costa Mediterrania had an itinerary we really liked and the cost for a balcony cabin was reasonable. We had read mixed reviews for Costa, but wanted a more European versus American experience with this cruise. We figured we were really cruising for the itinerary and not the ship. We had a 10 night Baltic cruise ...

Mediterranea Repositioning Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

This was a repositioning cruise from the summer northern routes to the fall Mediterranean routes. There were four of us on this cruise (2 cabins), we are all Canadians in our mid to late thirties and have all cruised before. This was our second cruise on the Mediterranea having cruised on it in 2006 in the Eastern Mediterranean. You should also know that we are pretty laid back and not ...

No No Costa

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

We booked a suite for our 30th anniversary cruise to Norway. There were only 2 things that didn't disappoint us. The suite, and the English hostess who was very, very helpful. The first problem was language. We had been told that 5 - 20 % of the passengers would speak English. There were well over 2,000 passengers, and only 46 had English as their native language. Every announcement had to be ...

We are a married couple who have been on 19 previous cruises. This was our first cruise with Costa and also therefore with Costa Mediterranea. This was a 7-night Baltic Cities cruise from Copenhagen. The reason for my husband and myself booking this cruise was that we received a special super deal. Otherwise we would not have selected this itinerary. We prefer an itinerary where you have the ...

ARRIVAL We flew to Copenhagen a day early. We took a 15 minute train trip (there is a station right in the airport) to the central train station then had a two block walk to our hotel. The Hotel First Vesterbro (approximately $180 USD per night including all taxes and breakfast) is just down the street from Tivoli Gardens and the main shopping district. We spent the day walking around Copenhagen ...
