Our first Costa cruise ,chosen for the ports that we had not been too. The ship is quite large in good condition, clean, with elaborate decor. Most of previous cruises have been with Royal Caribbean. It has some very different policies. Passengers were mixed mainly Italian French Spanish, only about 250 passengers spoke English, although most staff had reasonable english skills. The most notable ...
For perspective, we are an American couple in our 50's. We booked this cruise for the itinerary of almost all places we had never been to before. We are now "empty-nesters" so this was a chance for us to travel off season and enjoy each others company.
We chose to embark on the late side to enjoy some more time in Barcelona. After maybe a 10 minute cab ride from the Duquesa Suites we were at ...
I've written an extensive report of our experience on the costa board.
This was deal we couldnt say no to. A guaranteed inside cabin,so weren't expecting much.
Upgraded to a Balcony.
Cabin spotless throughout the cruise.
Some of the best food i've ever had. It is aimed at the Italian market and therefore meats, cheeses etc are aimed at western Europeans.
Hot breakfast in main dining ...

This was our seventh cruise, the second with Costa. We previously sailed with Royal Caribbean and NCL. We booked a back-to-back cruise, doing the same six-day route twice in the Western Mediterranean. For the first cruise we received a free upgrade from inside to balcony, which was a real treat. My wife has special dietary needs and was looked after superbly by the crew, delivering food to the ...
We have just returned from our Med cruise on board the Costa Diadema.
We have previously sailed with Cunard, NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean.
Overall, we enjoyed our first cruise with Costa. The Diadema is a large ship and it took us most of the holiday to find our way around.
We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the ship, one of the cleanest ships we have sailed on both ...
Most of the costa cruises depart from Savona port, northern italy, so if you fly to milan, you get a nice 2 hr scenic coach ride to port, with great shots of the alps, and fab views through hills and tunnels.
Always go all inclusive, Costa probably do the best deal, approx 20 to 30 euros per person per day, and its WORTH IT! Compared to other cruise lines that want $70 PPPD! How exactly does ...
We are Americans who sailed on an August Mediterranean cruise which stopped in Palma de Mallorca, Cagliari (Island of Sardinia), Civitavecchia (Rome), Savona and Marseille.
The culture.....I had read numerous negative reviews about this cruise line by American passengers. I can only surmise that they have had minimal exposure to other cultures. Frankly, the offering of this cruise line is ...
My wife and myself chose this cruise as the date, price, and departure point fitted in with the rest of our holiday plan. We read the reviews before travelling and went with great trepidation as it seemed that our cruise was going to be awful! IT WAS EXCELLENT!!!
Embarkation was fine - we arrived in our inside cabin to find that it was bigger than anything we had experienced on the "high level" ...
We were a little worried due to some of the negative reviews that we read but are very happy that we went - my husband and 7 year old boy. We chose this cruise because we wanted a true European experience and we definitely got it! :) There were only 52 Americans out of the 3800 on board. We also really like the ports that this cruise offered, not the traditional stops. The service as fantastic. ...
