Beware double charging

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Diadema

Firstly i wish to draw attention for other travellers to what happened to us: It clearly states on our invoice to pay by bank transfer, we were told initially when to do so which we did, however Costa subsequently made a deduction for the same amount of 3000 euros from the original card which we had used to make the deposit 12 months earlier, despite my saying not to use this card again. I ...

Great sightseeing but.......

Very disappointing cruise. After a great 2015 Christmas cruise, our 2016 cruise aboard Diaderma was a huge disappointment. Meal times were nothing short of a cattle market. Christmas Eve being the worst meal I've had in a long time. We ate in the Adularia Restaurant which was clearly unable to cater for the number of guests. Queues of frustrated guests trying to get a table. Once we did finally ...

Enjoyable cruise

This was our seventh cruise, the second with Costa. We previously sailed with Royal Caribbean and NCL. We booked a back-to-back cruise, doing the same six-day route twice in the Western Mediterranean. For the first cruise we received a free upgrade from inside to balcony, which was a real treat. My wife has special dietary needs and was looked after superbly by the crew, delivering food to the ...

An Italian Experience

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Mediterranea

This cruise came up as part of a very cheap package deal including flights and 2 nights in Barcelona. I had read some reviews and my expectations were not high but for the money I wouldn't have complained if we got 2 hammocks above the engines. As it was we got upgraded to a balcony - a first for us, and very nice too. Most of the complaints I'd read about Costa focused on food and service. ...

Good cruise but not for all tastes

We have just returned from our Med cruise on board the Costa Diadema. We have previously sailed with Cunard, NCL, Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Overall, we enjoyed our first cruise with Costa. The Diadema is a large ship and it took us most of the holiday to find our way around. We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the ship, one of the cleanest ships we have sailed on both ...

What a rip off! Over priced and rude people.

Beware this is a rip off! We were looking so forward to our cruise. The embarkation went smoothly and the staff were fine. The ship is very Bolliwood and over the top, with glitz and glamour everywhere. Our cabin was adequate and thankfully we could control the air conditioner in it. You cannot drink the water and no water was provided. The ship was over heated, when getting into the lifts ...

Good value, always go all inclusive, works out 20 Euro per day!

Most of the costa cruises depart from Savona port, northern italy, so if you fly to milan, you get a nice 2 hr scenic coach ride to port, with great shots of the alps, and fab views through hills and tunnels. Always go all inclusive, Costa probably do the best deal, approx 20 to 30 euros per person per day, and its WORTH IT! Compared to other cruise lines that want $70 PPPD! How exactly does ...

Good value for money

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Diadema

I was looking for a solo cruise and Costa were the only company offering an affordable balcony cabin for single travellers. I have been on Disney Magic, RCL Allure and Carnival Vista in recent years and whilst Costa Diadema doesnt have all the bells and whistles the other cruise lines have, I found it to be an enjoyable cruise overall and would recommend it to single travellers. The ...

While a good value for the money, you get what you pay for!

I just came back from Western Mediterranean cruise with Costa Diadema. It includes Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia / Rome (Italy), La Spezia (Italy), Savona (Italy), Marseille (France) and Barcelona (Spain). Overall it was a good value for the money. But it is hardly impressive, if you have taken other cruises. The main weakness is buffet food and the quality of nightly entertainments: low level ...

myself 67yrs and my son in law 57 with his father 88 were recommended a Costa med cruise on the flagship Diadema from the start it was obviously not the cruise we were expecting I have done cruises before so had some idea how things go. The cabin was OK comfy.. but very noisy door locks,we found the staff [some] moody and stroppy having at one time witness a full blown argument between barman ...
