Trip from IJmuiden to the Shetland islands and Iceland and back. Reading all the reviews I don't need to add much more comment. Costa is not learning from the reviews people are writing . In short: food is always cold/ extra payment for water!!!!/ extra payment for frenche fries/ pizza/ snacks.

When one doesn’t eat well, one doesn’t travel well. We have to say that this was the worst cruise (of 7) that we’ve been on from the food perspective. For Italians, this should be seriously embarrassing.

Boarding: boarding in Kiel took hours. I’m new to cruising, but it seemed rather disorganized with little possibility for seating. The terminal in Kiel was an uncomfortable , utilitarian facility. None of the screens were working, Costa Personnel were walking around with signs to tell people which groups were boarding.

From the beginning of the embarkation to the end I would have to say that we were sorry that we chose Costa. No communication had been given to us for getting to the ship from the airport. The phone number we were given was not in service. We worked it out with a taxi at the beginning and end of the cruise at the cost of €100 each way.

We chose this cruise because it seemed like good value for money and was visiting some ports not previously visited. We boarded Costa Majestica in Genoa and from then their organisational skills or non organisational skills became evident. We have always said we wouldn’t cruise with Costa, but when this deal came up we decided to try it. Thankfully, this was a short cruise and therefore the suffering was limited.
