Great cruise on Costa Serena

Recently refurbished and wonderfully European. You will be disappointed if looking for an American style cruise, this one is more 'understated elegance'. Food was delicious in all restaurants and bars. Would recommend highly the gelateria Amarillo - ice cream with an ocean view? Yes, please! This gelateria served up a delightful array of gelato flavors, and it became my daily ritual to indulge in ...

Chose Costa because we’ve tried Royal Caribbean and P& O so wanted to try a different cruise line and because of the value for money it offered. Almost cancelled because of coronavirus ( more a fear of being isolated in our ( inside) cabin for 14 days, rather than catching the virus) and because of all the negative reviews that we didn’t read before we booked it, but SO glad we didn't! This ...

Stunning decor with small ship feel

I booked back to back cruises on Fortuna over Christmas. After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit wary but I loved all of the 2 weeks onboard. Having cruised mainly on Princess (where it's impossible to get a chair for coffee in the atrium), it was wonderful to sit and enjoy coffees on deck 3. The atrium on Fortuna has a glass roof on deck 11 and glass elevators all the way to deck 2. ...

Fortuna is FANTASTIC!

We chose this cruise because we happened to be going from Singapore to Rome. The price was outstanding, so despite the generally poor reviews, we tried Costa. Shazaam!...now we’re big Costa fans! The ship is good, but the crew is amazing. Costa (or at least the Fortuna) clearly has the secret sauce recipe for keeping its crew (apparently) happy and very highly effective. Here’s some ...

Fantastic adventure on an Italian cruise

My wife really enjoyed the shows performed by the Italian / western artists and paid extra to watch the late night show. My boy liked the play group. There were 136 children in the group and the staff appeared overwhelmed. All later activities required the participation of a parent. The cruise should have allocated more staff to take care of the children so the parents could go and play, even ...

This was our first cruise. I booked this cruise as a Christmas present for my wife via a local travel agent. I originally booked a Junior Suite, but the we got upgraded to an Owner Suite. We flew Palanga Lithuania to Copenhagen, wondered around in the cold and had a good meal before catching the SAS overnight to Dubai. SAS, even in economy provide much more leg room than Airbaltic, the only other ...
