Passing our local TUI travel agency we noticed a "Manager's special" for this cruise and enquired within. The dates coincided perfectly with the half term school holiday, an inset day, and our daughter's leave week. In addition the second day of the cruise was our granddaughter's birthday and this would be her first flight on an airplane though not her first cruise. The price offered made it a no ...

Absolutely terrible cruise on Explorer

We have sailed with marella about 8 times now but never again! If you could give a minus score we would have done! It did not get off to a good start when the plane we were due to fly on to corfu missed the runway at leed/bradford causing absolute chaos. We were eventually transferred to manchester and flew from there arriving in the early hours of the morning. Just as an add to show tui ...

This was an enjoyable cruise and excellent itinerary but one or two things stop me from giving it a five * rating. The Good: 1. Food was generally of a very high standard (with one exception detailed below) 2. Staff are as friendly and jovial as ever 3. Cabin was comfortable, if a little rough around the edges. 4. All ports of call were enjoyable: Koper, Trieste, Dubrovnik and ...

We cruised on Marella Explorer for two weeks from Corfu from 6th October to the Adriatic and the Aegean. Our only complaint was about flying into and out of Corfu Airport, absolute chaos!! And try as hard as they do there is nothing Tui can do about it. We will never fly to Corfu again. This was our first cruise with Marella having only cruised previously with P&O. The Marella Explorer ...

From embarking to disembarking we had an amazing time!!!! We tried a balcony cabin for the first time and it was a brilliant choice. Cabin staff were very efficient and friendly. We dined every night in the Latitude 53 restaurant as the food and staff were exceptional, we also had the pleasure of dining on Paul Dalandan's (Quality Paul!!) dining station along with his wonderful team every ...

This was my first cruise and I was uncertain that I would like it. I had a fab time and would now definitely cruise again. What I liked about this ship was the friendly, informal atmosphere. The entertainment was really great from the extremely slick Broadway type shows (the singing and dancing were excellent) to the gameshows in the Squid and Anchor pub. Quizzes and other entertainments were ...

We choose Marella because we could depart from a local airport, and the most important to us were the destinations. Another plus was only one sail day in the week. The destinations lived up to our expectations and the sail into Koper was lovely. However, we found the dining below average, two meals were sent back. They were aware of problems, new staff, poorly trained and hadn’t worked as a ...

I booked this cruise with TUI after having had several great family cruises before! However what a disappointment this one was!!!. Took my best friend for her first cruise to impress her and I wad left embarrassed. Standards have dropped. Though thankfully Staff are still amazing and the entertainment was exceptional. However, the standards of the ship was a big let down. Though more ...

We chose to take our first cruise with Marella after having it recommended by my sister and we were not disappointed! We chose the Ionian trip, for seven days . We sailed on the Explorer which was a beautiful ship aimed at giving its passengers the best experience ! the staff are amazing people, multi national and always smiling! The restaurants were all well organised, Latitude 53 have the ...

Full capacity. 1925 passengers and they cannot cope. Not enough staff. 30 minute wait every night for dinner unless you eat In the Gallery buffet with the drunk.people who never get off and sit drinking all day, letting their kids run riot. Dive bombing in the pool which is unsupervised and running around. The staff work really hard but there's not enough in peak summer season. You will ...
