A lovely cruise - to great ports! A smaller ship with an older clientele!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

My husband had always wanted to see the workings of the Panama Canal! It was an item on his bucket list. The Coral Princess is a lovely ship - we loved the formal dining and met some great new people onboard. We did the full passage of the Panama Canal on an excursion on a smaller ship. We were able to see the workings of the canal and learn more about the history and function. If you are ...

Wonderful cruise on a much older ship

We always wanted to go through the Panama Canal, and loved most of the cruise and experience. The ship itself is old and falling apart. There were areas that had a moldy odor. There were areas where the air conditioning wasn't working. In our stateroom the thermostat didn't work, the remote for the TV didn't work, the shelf in the bathroom was broken and the carpet was dirty and worn. As in ...

As always, this Princess cruise was chock full of the senior set, which is fine - we're just coasting into qualifying for AARP ourselves, so it's not a problem - we're not party animals by any stretch. The good: The Coral Princess is one of their smaller ships, which meant we developed more friendships with people than on larger ships, which was nice. Likewise, we got to know more of the ...

Oldie but Goodie

This is our second cruise to the Caribbean on the coral princess. While the ship is starting to show its age on a lot of different levels, we feel it is very well-designed. This is the second year in a row that some of the ports work canceled or substituted due to weather. The seas were too choppy to dock in both Costa Rica and Grand Cayman, so while we did not visit either of these two ...

Loved Panama Canal Cruise on the Coral

We had a very enjoyable cruise on the Coral Princess partial transit of the Panama Canal. The ship is beautiful and we found almost all of the staff to be friendly and eager to please. We enjoyed the food in the Main Dining Room, the Horizon Buffet and the burgers and pizza on the Lido deck. We love the International Café on other Princess ships and though we sometimes still found things on the ...

We went especially for the Panama Canal and it was great. Our 6 th time going thru the canal but got no certificate this time as we had in the past..Our balcony was D 516 and Jeffery did an excellent job.He always had our cabin finished when we returned from breakfast and dinner. Did extra things for us like change to a light blanket. Our balcony was a little bigger then a regular cabin, but the ...

We went as part of a group of friends. My wife is scooter-bound. We were initially told that because of my wife's mobility issues, we could not go on any of the shore excursions. However, after discussions with the shore excursion staff, we found we could participate in tours at three of the five ports of call (we could have probably made tours in four ports had we asked earlier). The one ...

Great way to spend New Year's / WIfe's 60th BD!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Coral Princess

My wife's 60th BD loomed large in our planning and we always wanted to go to the Panama Canal so this was a great way to combine the two. On top of that, she was and still is a New Year's Baby so just any old First Night party would not do. The Coral Princess met and exceeded our expectations at nearly every point along the way. Embarkation at Port Everglades was smooth and 99% hassle-free. ...

Our favorite Princess ship

This was our 9th cruise on Princess, and 12th overall. We were going to be home alone at Christmas and decided to go on a cruise instead. We'd been to the Caribbean several times before, but not to the Canal. We selected this particular ship because of design details (see below) and prior experience with Princess. I had been interested in traveling on this ship or its sister (Island ...

This was our second cruise on the Coral Princess. Our first experience was cruising Alaska on the same ship. For this cruise the ship was quite fully booked, with many families and children aboard for the holidays. The ship was festively decorated and immaculately clean. We departed from Port Everglades in Ft Lauderdale. There were eight ships and 23,000 people leaving port that day! Once Princess ...
