Perception only few hundred on board when there were 2,000 passengers - smaller ship great for older people

We took the 14 day New Zealand cruise from Brisbane on 4th December 2023. Worrying about reviews written about the age and state of the ship we were pleasantly surprised. As it is older the corridors are wider, and we weren’t packed in like sardines. The carpet is just like that in the RSL clubs. We took Aloha mini suite. Whilst it not as wide as others the rounded balcony has the best views by ...

World Cruise Itinerary needs to be changed and “Value our loyalty” I would dispute

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Coral Princess

Having done more than 20 cruises with Princess, I understood what their “loyalty program” meant and why we aspired to be Elite members. Today is so different, the speeches remain the same but nothing else. Gone are the precious internet minutes; discounts in the shops are only on full priced items; no special toiletries in the bathrooms; and reduced access to the Captain Circle rep on board. ...

A second world cruise this one to celebrate retirement and selling my business at 73. Compared to 2011 the list of changes makes for a ho-hum experience. The major is that Princess has gone back on their Loyalty Programme that I joined 15 years ago, The major is that elite was promised free internet and now have to pay. That cost me 1000 dollars additional, Perhaps I would have reluctantly ...

We so looked forward to an epic journey all round Australia, but what was sold to us as a 28 day cruise all round Australia, turned out to be a number of cruises joined together which meant a lot of repeats . One of the highlights for us was to visit Hobart and this was cancelled as was the visit to Busselton and Margaret river. Brisbane is a problem as the cruise port has no public transport so a ...

Covid affected.

First trip after Covid, shut down. Princess appeared to be quite genuine about trying to control Covid transmission on their ship. Easy to get to in Brisbane by driving and parking. Their different graded lane embarkation method appeared to offer the prospect of a quick, easy and healthy (in these Covid days of not being 1.5m apart). But sadly this was not the case no GREEN lane for faster ...

Our first cruise back after Covid-19 The good - Medallion system is excellent and the phone application works well. Wherever on the ship we were we could be found for servicing drinks and food. All the staff were to the great Princess standards. The food and selection was great and we used both specialty restaurants and rate them both highly. Also the pizzas from Alfredo's in Sabatini's ...

Well, we had our second cruise on Coral Princess and our third. (don't worry the 2 cruises totalled 5 nights) We were hoping to see some improvements to our last trip in August. However, it was ground hog day. Still couldn't book a specialty restaurant as they were booked out way in advance. On the August cruise the pools were heated to a nice temperature but on this one they were freezing. ...

This was our first cruise back with Princess since Covid. We have sailed many times with them before. Firstly let me say that the crew were great and boarding and disembarkation were a dream. (as usual) Our room was a balcony and was very comfortable although, as usual no sofa. The shower was tiny and allowed for no movement. Formalities to do with safety were quick and easy. Whilst we had ...

Don't expect a good internet connection

This could have been a great cruise if the internet connection was working as advertised. The connection was supposed to be able to stream movies and video but could barely load a webpage for most of the trip. The technical support wanted to help but admitted the connection quality was terrible and there was nothing that could be done. Though some may think an enforced break from the internet ...

Disappointing cruise

Like most people we have cruised with Princess many times and are Elite status which doesn’t appear to make any difference. We were in a suite C628 which was a good size and in reasonable condition though looking very dated. The balcony had the blue plastic flooring which was loose and curling in the corners making it very dangerous and white paint flakes over the furniture and floor. We ...
