As noted above, the balcony decking was very broken, and right off the bat I walked into the room, kicked off my shoes and stepped out onto the balcony - felt something funny - then looked down. Uggh. The decking is all broken with sharp holes, and I found out how easy it is to get your feet all bloodied up. We had a lot of rainy weather and the overhead balcony section dribbled water down the door glass into the room. The Balcony furniture had sopping wet & moldy cushions - for a trip to Alaska you're better off with metal and plastic decking furniture that won't stay wet and get moldy. The shower drain wasn't working, nor was the hair dryer. The bed was really worn out and lumpy. Never did see the room steward after the first day - and come to think of it I think we went thru two or three stewards. We kept getting other passengers mail, and we kept having to bring it back to the front desk. We tried calling room steward directly several times but that never worked. I know I'm complaining about everything, so I'll stop there. It gets better later on, when just about everyone on the ship got sick...but we'll save that for another time. What was good about the room? Let's see. Well, the sliding door didn't leak water when it wasn't raining! And we could see the pretty scenery outside! Bottom line: Was a suite worth the extra expense? For us it turned out to be sort of disaster on that cruise, but if they got things patched together so the shower worked it could be really nice. We loved having access to the spa, and that turned out to be essential to get a shower. Read Less

Suite exceeded our expectations. More spacious than expected and balcony was fantastic. We really did not utilize most of the amenities that were included. Enjoyed the fresh fruit. Hard liquor cordials were complementary and I only drank one on ice. I had the best sleep after the drink. Having the curtain to section off the bedroom from the living room is a nice touch. I enjoyed watching the Love Boat at night and the movies while my husband slept. Read Less

The Cabin was okay, it was clean (except for the TV Remotes) and our steward was very attentive. The couch/Bed was very uncomfortable and dang near impossible to sleep on until after they added a wooden brace under the bed, then is was better, The TV in the cabin are actually high quality computer monitors and require a very specific viewing angle to see the screen. Enjoyed the tub and separate shower. The Cabin was okay, but the real advantage to a suite is the specialty breakfast, we did that nearly every day. Read Less

The cabin was fantastic. Loved the balcony. Stewart was fantastic, he went above and beyond. He was really great. The bed was very comfortable, room had lots of storage.

The cabin was spacious but worn. The layout is exactly the same same as other non-premium suites. The premium designation comes from the location at the midship elevators. The plumbing was an occasional issue as the shower didn't drain well and the toilet didn't flush periodically. The doors were worn/loose both into the cabin and to the balcony. The balcony was partially covered. Read Less

We were in a Vista suite on Deck 9/Dolphin with a covered balcony. I highly recommend a covered balcony for Alaska. We were able to enjoy the balcony so much more than we would have otherwise. The balcony was huge with a table and two chairs, plus two loungers and a side table. Full shower and separate tub, double sinks, and sitting area. TV in living area and bedroom. All four of us were able to visit and have tea in the sitting area comfortably. The bed was comfortable and we slept great every night. No noise whatsoever in the room (just noisy neighbors on the balcony, but what can you do?) This was our first cruise in a suite and we have been spoiled forever! Princess provides many perks for suite guests: priority embarkation/disembarkation, suite lounge, free access to the thermal suite--a wonderful perk we used many times, one free mini-bar setup, free breakfast in specialty restaurant, priority seating in dining room, and one free dinner in a specialty restaurant. All were used and enjoyed immensely. Our cabin steward Kanit was outstanding. Read Less
