I chose this cruise because I had taken a Viking River Cruise several years ago and loved it. But this cruise has been a disaster. The arranged flights basically cut a day off the cruise up front. Then cancelled flights caused the flight to be rebooked to the next day AFTER the ship would have departed. But we protested to the airline and luckily got a flight several hours later. We checked ...
We're appreciative of your thoughtful review, HappilyRetired4424, and are sorry to hear of issues due to airline cancellations. Additionally, it's regrettable to learn aspects of pre-trip...
This cruise was scheduled to depart Bergen, Norway on August 9 but mechanical problems with the ship on the previous voyage delayed and almost curtailed the cruise we were scheduled to take. Two days before the sail date, we received a notice that there were problems and we would "most likely" be able to depart from Copenhagen on August 11. In fairness, we were given the option to cancel our trip ...
Now back from our "Passage through Western Europe" cruise, all our friends and neighbors are asking, “How was your trip?” Our answer: “It was wonderful!” “Amazing.” “A real ADVENTURE!”
The Viking Star was launched back on April 11 and we’ve been following every Cruise Critic posting, diligently, since then. The ship is GORGEOUS! How could it not be? Every public space on board was designed as ...
New Viking Star..........
Our 20th cruise, previous Danube cruise on Viking Agier was fantastic, Viking Star was unbelievably OUTSTANDING.

Dining quality and variety was 5 star without doubt. Matching wines excellent also.
Specialty restaurants, ie Alfredi's Italian focus requires booking for a ...
VIKING STAR PASSAGE THROUGH WESTERN EUROPE
I was conflicted about how to write this review. we had the misfortune to be on the august 8 sailing delayed by the ship’s engine problems, so a review of our cruise will obviously be colored by this (hopefully) onetime event that would (again hopefully) not be an issue for future cruisers looking for feedback on the ship. so i will try to resolve ...
Loved the smaller cruise ship. It was beautiful and all the Nordic decoration and art were just wonderful. It was very manageable, comfortable, easy to get around, and lots of space to hang out. We did not participate much in any on board activities. Service was above excellent. The staff were all extremely helpful and took super good care of everything, were so polite and friendly. They did a ...
I have been on 30+ cruises on numerous different lines from age 12 through to this week. We just debarked at Barcelona. This was my first time with Viking. I am platinum with Cunard and have also been on Carnival, NCL, Holland America, Norwegian, Royal Caribbean and, as a child back in the 70's on Chandris- the old MS Victoria!
Our trip was to have been 15 days from Bergen, Norway to Barcelona, ...
This cruise exceeded my expectations. The ship was elegant and beautiful--loved the way nature was incorporated in the decoration. The staff were friendly as well as helpful. The various types of music and food venues were most enjoyable. I particularly liked the quiet nooks with books and comfortable seating, but I would have enjoyed having a selection of books about the countries and ports ...
This is the best cruise we have been on. We were met by staff when we boarded with flutes of champagne. The ship is absolutely beautiful, tastefully decorated. Our cabin was very nice and there was plenty of storage space. Your room steward will show you how everything works, from the coffee machine to the heated bathroom floor. Staff is always ready and willing to help or answer questions. ...
