After some amazing cruises with TUI and Royal Caribbean, we chose to do the Norwegian Fjords primarily for the scenery. Sad to say Gerainger aside we didn’t see too much of the Fjords and spent a lot of time on choppy sea. Trips further into the Fjords were available but at a price. The ship wasn’t clean at all. Many windows were filthy, and some of the public areas were extremely dusty. We ate in the Windjammer as like many other cruisers we didn’t feel the need or the urge to dress up. As ever the awindjammer food was plentiful, varied and of a high standard. The captain of the ship was very conspicuous by his absence, making rare appearances and hardly any announcements. Probably the most disengaged captain we have ever experienced. Same could be said of the Cruise Director who although very pleasant could have done a lot more to liven things up. His job was made much harder by the lack of quality in the production team. One singer Suzanne was excellent but the remainder were amongst the worst we have ever experienced on our cruises. The headliner acts were also poor compared to other cruises apart from the Barricade Boys who put on a great show. As a consequence the theatre was never packed out. Overall the cruise lacked atmosphere, and would make us think seriously about using Royal Caribbean in the future. Our experience was further dampened with the spa staff failing on 4 occasions to correct my wife’s hair salon bill after over charging her. This was put right by guest services on the final morning. Also we had to vacate the ship at 8:15 am despite our flight home not being until 17:55, an extra 4 hours on the ship was offered at $44 each, which essentially meant sitting on the ship with no access to facilities apart from lunch in the Windjammer. We chose to endure 9 hours at the airport instead. We met some nice people whose views were much the same as ours. We would have happily come home after 3 days but decided to make the best of a bad job. Read Less

The cruise was an RACQ promo, the ports were fine and most of the stall helpfull, Boarding the high pressure selling package began- water , coffee, wine, meal upgrades. This was a combined cruise - 28 days, but dishing up the same menu and show(which , was not high class, only lasted about an hour) every week -NOT GOOD. (my wife is gluten free, but getting chicken every meal gets boreing)The little things where missing- a drink when waiting for tenders(another company had them), crew knowing where towels are, announce when you can retrive passports, and what deck to leave ship.Dinning with same couple(we got on well) for the whole cruise.Mixups with bookings for excursions, desimbarking, connecting transfers.Selling old movies for $7, Sometimes you like a quite space, this was hard to find, Catching a lift, you give up and walk most tmes. MSC is good at moveing containers, BUT has a lot to learn about moveing people.... Read Less

I choose this cruise because of the cities we would visit and because the cruise began and ended in Copenhagen. From my view everything was perfect. The crew onboard was very accommodating and service minded. Our cabin was perfect in size with ocean view. The restaurants we visited, Windjammer and Reflections had various menues to choose between and the quality of the food was in top. There were a lot of very interesting and amusing entertainment every day. On board there are a lot of activities from early morning til late in the evening so there is no time to be bored. Depending on the weather you can have outdoor activities or indoor activities. The decoration of the Serenade of the Seas was very elegant and well maintained. So - overall a very succesfull experience for me and my wife. We will recommend this cruise to friends who ask me for advice. Read Less

The Baltic sea cruise and neighboring countries and cities were a delight, with smooth sailing, on time arrival and great city excursions. I especially want to site BEST GUIDES (office@bestguides-spb.com) that provided a wonderful 2 day excursion in St. Petersburg. Our guide there was extremely knowledgeable on details of the sites and museums. And the driver did extremely well navigating the bust traffic streets. Our family group of 7 were well satisfied with Princess' performance. The very efficient and friendly service of the waiters at our group of 7 table at the first seating in the Allegro dining room was especially noteworthy, especially our lady from Thailand. The embarkation and disembarkation in Copenhagen went very smoothly, especially if you have an early flight out of Copenhagen. princess uses a staged approach to get averyone off the ship in a timely manner. One point to make is to use public transportation when you can as it works very well in the cities we visited. For example getting to the new port in Copenhagen can be done from points in the city using the train then connecting with bus 27 which takes you right to the ship. WELL DONE. Read Less

Just completed a 9 night Balcan Capital Cruise on NCL Star. This was our third NCL cruise and we have been on many other cruiselines. We liked the itinerary and ports of call. That was amazing. Right from Berlin to Estonia, St Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm. Each gave a picture of its own, nostalgia of touching the Berlin Wall to the glitter of domes and statues in St. Petersbug to the beautiful scenery that traveled with you for hours and hours before and after leaving Stockholm. Having a view from full balcony made our trip. Shore excursions very expensive. Often the Russian Guides had difficulty speaking English. Our room, service, decor are like any other ship. Entertainments included variety and that was nice. What made our trip sour was the food. There were not many vegetarian options. Requesting a Panini gave us either plenty to eat, or wait longer or no we are out of bread type replies. Having requested Indian vegetarian food turned to be a mistake. The chef does not know how to cook. He made the same lentils for more than 12 meals, often straight. His version of bread or Puri was what the beginners do. Halwa was yellow! Oh come-on. And that too coming from the head chef who was Indian. I often heard angry remarks from other guests like this "This is a joke of Indian Food"; "We do far better at home then this". Our own comment was no different. Sad to say, that while we had gone determined to book another cruise while on the ship, the food quality made us change our mind! I am glad our next cruise is not on NCL, not for near future at least. Read Less
