We chose this cruise because of the stops in Iceland and Greenland, so the other ports were a bonus. The ports were good overall, but I would look carefully at the excursions offered from the cruise line and investigate ones on your own. We used Saga tours for tours in Iceland and Greenland. They did a good job overall, they were with small groups and we enjoyed that. The only problem is make ...
First time for RCL to go to Greenland. Plus Iceland and other ports.
Embarcation was fastest of any cruise we have been on. Very satisfied with all acpects of the ship. Weather prevented use of most outside facilities and activities.
The "at sea" days were spread out ,which was good. Only negative was that the food in the main dining was average at best. About 60% of the menu was the same ...
Two years ago, we found ourselves cruising the Baltic on the Serenade. During that sailing, they began advertising for their fall crossing from Copenhagen to Boston. It looked intriguing, so we kept our eyes peeled for future crossings. Cut to 2017, and they released our itinerary with the addition of Greenland! We jumped at the chance to book it, and we were not disappointed!
What was ...
Having sailed with RCCL many times I expected a great cruise on a grrat ship. Sailed out of Copenhagen. The Seranade of the Seas is in dire need of extensuve updating and repairs. Windows in the Safari Club lounge haf 1" of water between the panes. It had formed into algae. Water leaking in windows in the Windjammer. Casino tobacco smoke was not ventilated properly spilling in to public areas. ...
Did back to back cruises from Copenhagen to Baltic and then across to Boston. Loved all the ports, they were all new to us except Stavanger. First time Royal was in Greenland, going through Prins Christian Sund was gorgeous. We had 14 ports in 23 days, what a great itinerary. We spent three days in Copenhagen before departure and enjoyed the city immensely. We did independent tours, not from the ...
We just finished 3 B2B cruises that started in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. We crossed the Atlantic and the first segment terminated in Copenhagen. From there we did a Norwegian fjords cruise taking us back to Copenhagen. Followed by a Dave Koz charter cruise to the Balkans. This was 31 days onboard the Serenade of the Seas. We changed cabins with every segment. That's the background, here's my ...
Excellent service, food and entertainment, but we chose this cruise for the itinerary (which included Iceland). Taking a northern cruise in late August/early September limits your pool time somewhat, but it is a great time to be walking through ports. Repositioning cruises with multiple at sea days require a variety of entertainment and enrichment options to ensure a positive experience. Serenade ...
We chose this cruise because of it's stops in Iceland. We have been to the other countries which were very nice. The Serenade is in good shape for it's age and the overall cruise was average but cutbacks are everywhere. They only supply one bar of soap at a time in the bathroom. The Hair conditioner and lotion are only given to Crown & Anchor Members who have over 350 points. A 15 night cruise ...
I chose the this ship as I wanted to go to Iceland and the larger ships do not go there.
I travel the transatlantic twice a year and prefer a ship that has the Royal Promenade, ice skating, diving, Production Shows, nightly entertainment , lectures, etc
I would not go to Iceland again but I can say "Been There, Done That"
I booked an interior room for the trip to Iceland. Never ...
Iceland is a very popular destination so we wanted to check it out. Done it and not impressed. If you had seen Niagara falls then the waterfalls in Iceland has nothing to brag about. The geysers are puny compared to the geysers in New Zealand and even the geysers in Yellowstone. What a mess it was in Copenhagen, the transfer from the airport to the port was totally disorganized. There was no one ...
