I just returned from a twelve day cruise to the British Isles. I found the cruise to be of excellent quality. I never experienced Freestyle Cruising before but it worked for me. I especially liked the Versailles Dining experience because I became acquainted with the wait staff and one service person in particular who made my dining experience fantastic, She was the most pleasant person who had a ...
Food was disappointing for most of the cruise. First night duck was beef stroganoff, friends steak was actually pot roast with small potato and an single broccoli floret. Next night...bland food again with hot and cold spots. Part 2 of cruise had the cafe market serving the exact same thing for lunch as for dinner every day! With the exception of 2 items. At least the resturants got up to ...
Being veteran cruisers,we admired the really great condition of the ship, from the cabins to the public areas to the restaurants and bars all like new. The ports and shore excursions were both unique (the reason we were drawn to this cruise- new ports new adventures) and informative. The service the dining rooms, restaurants and bar areas was outstanding, especially the Gatsby waiters (Avelino ...
It was a trip of a lifetime. I highly recommend going for as long as possible. We went for 21 days.
The ship was beautiful, great entertainment, great music . Everyone treated you like you were royalty. The guest services was very helpful especially when I needed a dentist. They set up an appointment and had a taxi waiting to take me to the dentist at the very next port.
I love free style ...
We sailed for 30 days transatlantic from Miami and continued to Northern Europe and the Baltics. It was me, my wife and our 10 year old daughter in an ocean view room. The experience was simply outstanding. NCL and their crew on the Star did a fantastic job in customer service. The food was excellent. The entertainment was superb. The cabin service was very pleasant. The activities were well ...
We have cruised often with Princess and once each with Crystal and Royal Caribbean and based on reviews and friends' advice, we were braced for a lesser experience with NCL. We signed up for this cruise because it was a "last minute" good deal and even if the cabin was small and the food mediocre, we decided the price was worth the chance. We were very pleasantly surprised with our first NCL ...
PRE CRUISE I originally booked a different cruise but as it was too much to pay I transferred to this one. despite doing the STAR before.
I flew out the day of the CRUISE something I have not done before but as work could not tell me if I was working I had to book the flight. I Stayed in GATWICK AIRPORT the night before and checked in(a great idea) Then got minibus from hotel in the morning. It ...
For the most part my husband and I agree with the honeymoon couple. The Star is a terrible, tired ship that needs to be retired!!
We had a balcony room. The bed was comfortable, and sheets were ironed--this was the only good thing about the room. The bathroom is in three different sections. The vanity area is fine, shower was good, but the toilet area was terrible. This area had a sliding door, ...
We returned on Monday this week from a 14-night transatlantic cruise aboard the Norwegian Star. The ship and especially its crew met and exceeded our expectations. I find it hilarious at times reading some reviews of people who seem to go out of their way to find the most minute of things to complain about. Is your entire life like that or is it only when you have a public forum like this on which ...
A very long crossing to get to Florida - and only one stop enroute!
The downside of a very long crossing was the lack of good social spaces - and deck area.
All the bars seem to be in corridor areas and the pool area is overwhelmed by the slides, surely not the best thing to have on such a small ship? (they were also closed most of the time)
The childrens area seemed enormous - just not a lot ...
