Norwegian Star Cruise Reviews for Fitness Cruises to Baltic Sea from Copenhagen

A few guests arrived 40 minutes late and we left without them. Though I didn't like name-calling prior to all-onboard time, this was very reasonable.
Atrium Cafe served the same Starbucks like other NCL ships do without a rebranding.
An MDR lunch on the sol sea day. The scallop didn't benefit from the oversized herb butter bath it sat in and was still very bland.
Ginza served decent Asian dishes.

Life in the Garden Villa

Originally chose this cruise when it was listed as being a transatlantic from Copenhagen to Tampa. When NCL cancelled that itinerary we decided to go with the new one when NCL agreed to honor our original booking. We were totally spoiled as we (5 of us) had one of the Garden Villas. This was an unforgettable experience. Therefore, everything on the cruise was excellent for us. None of us had ...

Great Itinerary

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary and it definitely did not disappoint! As for the ship, hands down one of the greatest crews we have encountered. From our always smiling room steward all the way to the Captain of the ship (who gave a fantastic Viking talk) and a great cruise director and staff, Hi, Mark! Ship itself was in fairly decent shape, smaller (which we prefer) and didn't ...

NCL charges for extras and handicap room noisy

NCL is now into making you pay for everything. They nickel and dime you to death. The right hand side of the regular restaurant menu has prices on it if you want to order things like lobster. No more free lobster on any night. Your Latitudes coupons or Le Bistro doesn't include lobster and you have to pay an additional $25 if you want it, no credit for the coupon. Room service now has a ...

Beautiful Baltic

This was a nine night Baltic Capitals cruise ex Copenhagen and calling at Warnemunde, Tallin, St Petersburg, Helsinki and Stockholm - really lovely itinerary. We had very good weather pretty much the whole trip so we were exceedingly lucky and I don't think it would have been as enjoyable in the rain! We opted not to do the excursion to Berlin from Warnemunde and those who did do it said the 14 ...

A Wonderful 50th anniversary cruise

Having wanted to see the art of St. Petersburg for years, I jumped at the chance when this cruise went on sale. This was an early 50th anniversary cruise, and it was great. The weather was unusually warm, sunny, and gorgeous. We love seeing the old European architecture, quaint medieval shops, and visiting with the friendly people. The ship's staff were all very friendly and helpful, the food ...

LOVED this Baltic voyage. This was my 27th cruise. My husband's 8th. We were just thrilled to leave our busy world and be pampered: We don't have to cook, clean, shop or do laundry. And we get to see some interesting places. All on (mostly) soothing seas. Our expectations are always measured. We did our research. This was the itinerary we wanted. (Seeing the Hermitage and Copenhagen were our main ...

We embarked in Copenhagen with no trouble at all everything went smoothly, the staff were friendly and helpful, the ship was lovely and clean but a bit of updating is needed here and there. The Aqua Restaurant needed a fair bit doing to it, the chairs were showing plenty of wear and there was quite a few cracked floor tiles, we only ate there once, I ordered a duck dish and got a poached fish ...

Good cruise, but NCL now offers less and only wants more of your money

Review of Norwegian Star cruise September 2016 We just returned from a 23 day cruise on the Norwegian Star, travelling east from Copenhagen to St Petersburg and back and west to Iceland and back. The ports of call were interesting on both legs, which is why we chose this cruise. And the excursions arranged through our Cruise Critic friends were all excellent, reasonably priced, and with ...

Cruised the Baltic Capitals on the Norwegian Star

The ship looks tired. It needs a redo. The Garden Cafe looks like a factory cafeteria - no decor whatsoever. The crew is wonderful - every one of them a friendly face, eager to help, from the wait staff in the restaurants to the guy in the Internet Cafe. Our suite, 9232, was missing a few things we couldn't obtain (like a magnifying mirror and phone on the dressing table), but the wrap ...

We went on this cruise with friends who suggested a Baltic Cruise. We had never been in the area and it sounded like a great idea. They suggested,Norwegian Cruise Line because they, had been on the line in the past. We like smaller, 6 star ships but we finally agreed. We booked a mini suite and it is really small. I can't imagine a regular room. Getting into the closet is an adventure as it is ...
