Are you a non-smoker? STAY AWAY FROM THE BREAKAWAY!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We are veteran cruisers. This, from Copenhagen to Copenhagen was our 50th. We are brand loyal to NCL - this was our 25th cruise with them - our first on the Breakaway. If you are a non-smoker, there is a huge design flaw with this ship that may ruin your trip. They put the Casino on deck 7 in the middle of the boat and it has an open ceiling to the 8th floor and open to the 6th floor . ...

Some good, some poor

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We wanted Scandinavia but weather cancelled three of our five ports; disappointing. First time doing "free styling" and we like that after we understood what it meant. Because of the weather, outside tables wouldn't be used so dining was crowded. Communication from the captain was poor. Had we known of the port cancellations, we might have done things differently, such as spend time on our own in ...

Breakaway Is Not The Best Choice For Cold Weather Cruising

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We chose this cruise because of the exciting, port intensive, Baltic Sea itinerary ~ round trip from Copenhagen, Denmark, with stops scheduled for Warnemunde/Rostock, Germany, Tallinn, Estonia, St. Petersburg, Russia (overnight/2 days), Helsinki, Finland and Stockholm, Sweden. We decided to also book the following 14 day Transatlantic cruise from Copenhagen to New York City with ports of ...

WORST cruise ever!!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

This cruise should not have been scheduled in the first place. This was the only cruise ship that sailed in this time of the year unlike other cruise ship who were wised enough not to schedule due to unpredictable weather condition thus resulting to missing 3 ports. THREE!!!!!!!!!!!! NCL should know better! And NCL should have Plan B in place if incidents like these happens. Instead it was ...

A disappointing experience

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

the cruise was chosen for the destinations it was promising, however we only visited 2 of the 5 ports on the itinerary which is very dissapointing considering the distance we had travelled to meet the ship. The Weather was used an excuse. Maybe NCL should not be cruising this region so late into the season. The ship has poor layout with limted public spaces, the theatre is inadequate, the ...

9 day cruise from Copenhagen, daparting on Sun w/ scheduled stops in Germany, day at sea, Estonia, overnight in St Petersburg, Finland, Sweden, day at sea and return to Copenhagen Tuesday. Unscheduled skip of Warnemunde, Germany so over nighted in Copenhagen with a 1:30 departure the next day ( so no time to go and see Copenhagen), day at sea Tuesday. Tallin, Estonia on Wednesday as scheduled, ...

Hugely Disappointed

I chose this cruise because a few friends who have been in the cruises before decided to go again with a group of other people so my friend and I decided to go along. Also its route was interesting for me as I have not been any of these places. Very unlucky, the three ports out of 5 were cancelled. As a result, everyone was forced to be in the cruise with limited entertainment offered but ...

Highs and lows of a late season Baltic Cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We are a couple in our mid- 50s. We enjoyed our Norwegian Breakaway cruise, and would travel with them again. Embarkation was stress free. Weather was cold ( not totally unexpected!) - it was the last Baltic cruise of the season. Our tour guide in Russia said that the weather was unseasonably cold, and that she was wearing her winter jacket 2 months earlier than usual. The weather caused ...

Missed Ports and Ship Inadequate

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

Just returned from this cruise from Copenhagen supposedly calling at Germany, Estonia, St. Petersburg, Finland and Sweden. Unfortunately we only made it to Estonia and St Petersburg. The breakaway didn't sail for Germany sited as storms at sea. The ship stayed in port for the night and most of the next day. It then sailed directly to Estonia where it also stayed an unscheduled night and extra ...

Disappointed

We had 3 of the 5 ports cancelled because of weather. We understand weather can be an issue but they should tell you upfront if that is a possibility. If this time of year is not good they should let you know what could happen OR just not offer cruises at this time. As a consumer you assume if it is offered it is OK. As we were waiting in the Toronto airport for our flight we met a couple just ...
