Just okay

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Azamara Journey

I learned that cruises are not a good way to see places...you only see a glimpse. Azamara was okay. The waiter service was good. Food was okay...never had a great meal. Everything was average. Customer service desk was poor and unimpressive. Lacking knowledge and unimpressive personalities. Excursions were not especially impressive either. Little knowledge of local sights. I won't go on an ...

BALTIC CRUISE - BEAUTIFUL SHIP, MIXED SERVICE

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We sailed Oceania Marina for 10 days from Copenhagen to Stockholm, doing the Baltic. Our ports included Warnemunde, Klaipeda, Riga, Helsinki, 3 days in St. Petersburg, Tallinn and one sea day. We have sailed the smaller Oceania ships before, but this was the first time on Marina. We booked a Concierge level balcony and a cruise-only package as we like to do our own excursion planning. ...

Expected more, but it just didn't deliver.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We chose this cruise for 2 reasons: First because we had heard a lot of positive reviews for Oceania and wanted to try it to compare to other cruises we have been on. Second because it stayed 3 days in St Petersburg. The cruise ship did not "wow" us. There were a couple of issues with our cabin, parts of the ship were tired and outdated, or just boring. After reading many review about ...

Oceania has changed

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Nautica

We have cruised twice before on Oceania: once on Marina and once before on Nautica. While the itinerary was great, the food service was lacking. We enjoyed the ports of call and took a number of ship sponsored tours and found them all to be of good quality. The ship and its cabins are nice and the personnel all provided great service. But we felt that the service and quality of the dining ...

Some Nice Amenities, But

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Le Soleal

Tauck Tours uses this ship for the Baltic Tour. I won't write about the "tour" part, but the ship had some good aspects. The staterooms were nice and clean. The bed comfortable. After day two, we spent a lot of time off the ship. Two points of concern. The first is the food, which effected us three times a day. It's just not good. I can't remember one thing I ate that I liked, though now a ...

Regent Seven Seas: falling off in the last year, 6 star no more!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Seven Seas Voyager

This is my second time cruising with Regent, obviously I loved the first time around having booked another vacation with them. I unfortunately have not had the same success as i did the first go around. 1.) Butler Service- I paid the extra for it and it has been an absolute waste. 4.5 hours to get 2 bottles of vodka to the room (no ice bucket with it even though I requested it) 2.) ...

Three Adults in a Veranda Cabin is One Too Many

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We chose this cruise because it was of the Baltic Sea and offered three days in St. Petersburg. For the first half of the trip, the food was fabulous, for the last half it was still very good but I wanted different tastes and flavors; I like highly flavored foods. We are from the Napa and Sonoma areas so we were looking for European wines. On a 10 day cruise we ordered wine about five times. ...

Miserable Marina

This was a very average cruise and a real disappointment. WE have cruised many times before with Seabourn, Cunard and RCI, so were eagerly expecting an excellent cruise with Oceania. Not to be. Its a very nice ship and well kept. The food is good and the day to day staff work hard and are very helpful. Spa and Gym are good. BUT The management is dreadful. No captain contact - he doesn't ...

Small Ship with an Interesting Itinerary

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Silver Whisper

My 10th cruise - First on Silverseas We like small ships - the size of Whisper was perfect for us and the itinerary was interesting. We traveled with 2 other couple and all of us stayed in suites. We did not take any of the shore tours since we prefer to book a car and driver/guide. The cabins are well appointed and very clean - size were OK - but if there is a next time we will book a bigger ...

Nightmare Shore Excursion in St. Petersburg

We travelled with 3 other couples to celebrate our 60th birthdays. Our cabin was very nice and the service in the cabin was very good. Their drink packages are very confusing. My wife and I each bought one only to find out it was for beer and wine and only when we were dining. If we were at the pool or any other locations during the day we were charged for our drinks. I felt like I was getting ...
