DON'T GO ON THE MUSICA

Review for a Europe - Black Sea Cruise on MSC Musica

We have cruised on Holland America - can't find any fault there - our friends have cruised with Princess - also could not find any fault. MSC Musica was an experience that we would not want to repeat. The ship was fine, our cabin was good and our cabin steward, Ina, and our waiter Sugi were the only crew members who went out of his way to make us feel welcome on the ship. In the 13 night cruise, ...

If you are a North American cruiser, STAY AWAY

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Musica

This cruise was fairly well advertised in North America, in hopes I think of getting a slice of the North American market. It failed miserably. The food was terrible. There was very little beef or shellfish available and what there was, was poorly done. The food was cold in the buffet area and barely warm in the restaurant. There is also a huge language barrier here and although announcements ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Star

The embarkation process was chaos with no thought whatsoever of controlling batches and when we finally got to the desk the extremely unhelpful lady on the check in desk told me that she was not able to help with a mix up in the cabin booking and the subsequent issuance of the ID card as 'it was not her job' ' it clearly was but by the time we were in front of her her moderate customer facing ...

Someone Catch This Falling Star

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Star

I'll begin this review by owning up to two personal errors. First we decided that, as this was a sightseeing cruise, we wouldn't book a balcony but would try an inside cabin. Second, we disregarded the fact that we would be cruising during the school holidays. We're retired and cruise as it suits us with itinerary and price being the key factors in choosing a cruise. Once on board we gain pleasure ...

My advice; Stay away from MSC Cruises!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Musica

Where to start?! First of all embarkation was awful. We were waiting and waiting for embarkation in Copenhagen very long in cold terminal without heating. When we put step on this ship for first time, no welcome from anyone. We just embarked like we are back from excursion. Went to room first, there was no soap and toilet paper in bathroom, and after using a shower, we saw water stain in room ...

Northern Europe -- Beauty and the Beast

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Vision of the Seas

The ports were all worthwhile, each had something memorable for us and it was our first time in most of the Cities: Copenhagen, Oslo, Bremen/Bremerhaven, Amsterdam, Brussels/Bruges (Zeebrugge),Paris/Normandy (Le Havre), and ending in Southhampton. The one-way route worked for us, or at least we were able to make it work. Ok so we have only taken 2 other recent cruises, on Celebrity, so take ...

Moderate cruise experience

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Eurodam

We did this special 4 day introductory cruise for Dutch passengers, from Copenhagen via Oslo to Amsterdam. This was our second HAL cruise. We did the Maasdam in 2002. Unfortunately most of the extras that Maasdam had in those days were not on this Eurodam cruise. A few examples are: - There was no Captains Toast, or a show were the captain and officers were introduced. - No farewell dinner ...

We will never sail Holland America again

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Eurodam

We are sad that Holland America has become increasingly more interested in finding ways to get their customers to spend more money than it is in the customers' satisfaction. Many times a day sales materials and loud speaker announcements are made to get travelers to spend more. Meals are OK, but if you want a "fine" meal, you must go to the extra cost dining. Want something besides coffee, tea ...

Gorgeous ports but terrible cruise ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Emerald Princess

My family and I were very disappointed at the quality of Princess cruises. There was not a single thing that didn't go wrong during the cruise. Our toilet broke (we waited for someone to come fix it for over an hour), the guest services desk was unhelpful and rude, terrible shows, and I even found several pieces of hair that were not mine on my pillow!!! As for the food- the Crown Grill was a ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Emerald Princess

The ship is wonderful and well taken care of. Food was excellent throughout although it was repeated in the buffet often and got a little boring, it was still very good. The age of the average guest on this cruise was 70-- and boy can those guys push and shove. Lots of handicapped people, including my husband! The crew and staff are well equipped for that population and were nice and smiling and ...
