Not a fan of the Regal

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

I am just reviewing the ship, not the cruise. Venues: Poor, poor use of venues on this ship. They have trivia in Princess live, which is set up like a recording studio, everyone is in rows. It is not very team friendly. Isn't the whole point of trivia to meet other people? This was not possible in this space and plus, it is small. No one liked it. Vista lounge: Nice place, but ...

No covered pool, air conditioning never adjusted properly in room

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

The configuration of ship is poor. The spa near registration desk instead of up near pool and gym. Air conditioning freezing at times got a cold walking from my steam and massage to my room. No covered pools in large Princess Ships so coming from Baltics and Scandinavia in Sept. was not a good choice. Took back to back and entertainment was the same. Lectures by cruise director of ports was ...

Transatlantic cruise from Copenhagen

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

AC was bit consistent. I called prob 4 times and they never resolved it...the last day they didn't even return my call. Entertainment was poor..no musicals or plays. They actually did horse racing with wooden horse heads and threw paper airplances off the side of ship...Cruise director spent entire "wake show" talking about his life....he should have been planning better entertainment. This ...

Too many things wrong

Elevators were a problem, customer service desk tucked away, have to go up to 7 to get to 6. Oh, you went to 5 in order to get to 6, can't do that either. Asked for some music to be played at the teas, told the musicians were too busy doing other things. Cruise line is in your face selling stuff. You once went to the stores on the ship, now they come to you with stands in the middle of walk ...

First cruise I was happy to end

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Regal Princess

This was our third time cruising on Regal Princess, and the worst experience overall on Princess. It was a repositioning/transatlantic cruise, the sixth such cruise we’ve done...so we have plenty of experience doing this type of cruise, as well as experience with this ship. I’d booked a balcony guarantee, and soon after was notified that the upgrade fairy was looking out for us...providing a ...

Baltic Cruise in September

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

The ship was much too big and crowded for being in the Baltic Sea in September, where NONE of the outdoor areas could be utilized, therefore, EVERYONE crowded inside. This ship was on casual dining, which was fine, but could only make dining reservations for early dining [5:30 or 6:00], otherwise standing in line with the rest of the crowds. Would have made for a much nicer experience if we ...

Carnival for the 40+ Crowd

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I was really excited to sail on the Getaway after all the hype, but was totally disappointed. Having sailed with Celebrity/RCCL the past few years I decided to return to NCL after a disappointing cruise on the Gem a few years ago. Dining - I made dining reservations for each night. My cabinmates and I chose not to book the "optional" dining rooms with the extra charge and were limited to ...

Five Star Itinerary, Two star ship

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Vision of the Seas

We knew what to expect when booking the 2017 edition of Royal. The food and service are now mediocre and bear no resemblance to the Royal of a bygone era. However, the itinerary was fabulous, including 4 days in Iceland. In fairness, the Park Cafe staff was friendly and on the ball and some of the Aquarius restaurant staff were helpful in correcting errors. Unfortunately, the cabin ...

Getaway 9 Day Baltic Capitals

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We arrived in Copenhagen 2 days before the cruise and really enjoyed the time and sights before leaving. We were on the Escape in November 2016 and the Getaway is the sister ship so we knew what the layout was like. This was our 8th NCL cruise and I have to say if this had been our first it would probably have been our last. We enjoyed our time on the large ship the Escape but we much prefer ...

Really Average Cruise

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

User Avatar

We did this cruise primarily for the destinations -- Copenhagen, Tallinn, Stockholm, St Petersberg, Helsinki. The ports were nice and we had pretty good weather. My wife and I traveled with 4 kids ages 11, 9, 6, and 3. The kids enjoyed the adventure ocean for the most part. We have been on 10+ cruises with RCI - and the Serenade of the Seas is a very average ship. It's a bit older, and it ...
