Chose this cruise because of special attention to those traveling alone. Good meet and greet for them everyday. Someone to eat with if you chose every night. Several dance bands with a variety of places to dance and party. Great Tropicana dining room with large dance floor and entertainment many nights and dancing with dinner every night. Exceptionally good entertainment. Ship seems ...

There is something to be said regarding these MEGA size cruise ships. There is a point of TOO BIG. Don't get me wrong.... I still believe cruising is the best vacation and have been on many. There is no BAD cruise!!! But I believe these mega cruises are taking away from the services you expect on a cruise.... especially in the dining area. The ships are expanding in their "specialty dining". ...

I chose this cruise for a few reasons. Firstly, it was a great price. Repositioning cruises are bargains! This allowed me to upgrade to balcony. Fantastic choice on my part. Fell in love with balcony cabins. I have always been happy with inside, but now I am spoiled. I had cabin 9264, port side. Sun on my balcony every day. Looked out on ports when we docked. The cabins are excactly as the photos ...

Great fun despite the detrimental itinerary switch...

The start point has to be the change in itinerary as it hugely impacted the trip. Hurricane Irma took St Maarten and San Juan off the agenda, sadly NCL plumped on Bermuda as the route change. There was nothing wrong with Bermuda, on fact it was a lovely island to visit but it had such a dramatic change of the weather conditions of the trip as to be in our opinion a completely unsuitable ...

We enjoy the large ships with lots going on . The shows were good and the crew is always happy and welcoming ! The food was excellent ! We ate in a few of the specialty dining rooms and really enjoyed them. One of the restaurants, Moderno, was excellent. We have eaten in Moderno on another ship and wasn't as pleased with the food as we were this time. If you only eat in the restaurants, Taste, or ...

Family transatlantic crossing

We chose this crossing almost one year ago. We enjoyed ourselves. The cabin layout was excellent with many shelves, cupboards (and we particularly liked the method of opening the cupboard doors). The size and layout of the bathroom was a positive surprise. We brought two children on the trip. One loved the Academy for the children and never wanted to come back to the room. It was a good family ...

In general we liked the Getaway. We are long term NCL travelers! This was our 7th transatlantic crossing so we knew what to expect. The first 5 days of bad weather forced most passengers inside. This showed many congestion areas - worst of which are the atrium and the Savoy/Taste dining areas. NCL carried similar Atrium design from the Epic which is very poor. You have a movie screen and ...

Good food, good entertainment

NCL stresses their 'Anytime Dining" but the actual implementation needs further improvement. The hostesses at the restaurants seemed unable to put diners together for effective table utilization. The computers they were using did not have the software to support efficient table utilization or the hostesses did not know how to use the software. The end result was long waits to dine while tables ...

Itinerary and price were great for us. Couldn't have known we would meet so many great people-both passengers and staff. The cabin was adequate in size, but would have really enjoyed the larger shower of the mini suite. Fran and Phil organized a daily playing of Left Right Center which helped establish a great diversion and delightful camaraderie. Bernard also added to the fun by setting up ...

We went on this cruise because we were invited by friends. They had been on several Transatlantic cruises so we decided to join them. This year the weather has played havoc in the Atlantic and Caribbean. As a result we had some rocky weather. Through no fault of NCL there were a couple of storms still in the Atlantic which made the waves high (at one point there were 25 ft waves). However, the ...
